Definitions
- the present invention relates to flexible packaging, of the type comprising a body externally having at least one main face formed at least partially by a flexible sheet.
- the means for retaining the wound part of the neck to allow a reliable reclosure of the packaging is relatively expensive to implement work since they require to bring on the packaging of the external elements.
- the object of the invention is to provide flexible packaging which can be easily closed and the manufacturing cost is reduced.
- the invention relates to flexible packaging as defined in claim 1.
- the invention also relates to a method according to claim 8.
- the flexible packaging 10 shown in FIG. 1 is intended by example to the packaging of coffee powder, or any other product powder or granules, food or not.
- the packaging comprises a flexible sheet 12 folded in on itself longitudinally and joined in a longitudinal weld 14.
- the packaging is initially closed at its lower end by a transverse weld 16 and at its upper end by a transverse weld 18.
- the packaging flexible 10 forms a pocket 20 intended to be open at its end higher.
- the pocket 20 comprises a body 22 constituting the vertical trunk of the pocket, this trunk being intended to contain the packaged products.
- the body 22 is extended towards the upper end of the body by a collar 24 generally devoid of product.
- the pocket 20 has two opposite main faces 26 extending parallel to each other and two side faces 28 connecting the main faces 26 and extending parallel to each other.
- the longitudinal weld 14 defines, on one of the main faces of the pocket, two adjacent sides 26A, 26B. These two sides are connected one to the other along the height of the packaging by the longitudinal weld 14.
- the body is closed by a bottom 30 obtained by folding the sheet.
- the lower transverse weld 16 is applied against the bottom 30.
- the lateral faces 28 have at their upper end following the length of the neck 24 an internal fold forming a bellows allowing the approximation of the two main faces 26 in the region of the transverse weld upper 18.
- the longitudinal weld 14 is of the type flesh against flesh, that is to say it is made by joining one against the other of the opposite parts of the sheet surfaces delimiting the interior of packaging.
- the packaging incorporates means allowing the retention of a rolled-up part of the neck of the packaging after initial opening in order to allow a reliable reclosure of it.
- These means for retaining a wound part of the neck include a reclosing band 43 held against the outer surface of the sheet 12 by a pressure reactivatable adhesive 44 also called repositionable adhesive.
- the strip 43 is retained according to the pan 26A. Alternatively, it is retained against pan 26B. More generally, the strip is held against a main face 26.
- the strip 43 extends along the entire height of the packaging of the upper weld 18 to lower weld 16. It extends parallel to the longitudinal weld 14.
- the strip 43 extends above the welded beads 18 and 16.
- a coating avoiding welding is interposed between the strip and the sheet 12 in the region of the welds 16, 18. This coating is especially useful at the level of the upper weld 18 where the strip must be subsequently peeled off.
- the strip 43 is made of the same material as that constituting sheet 12.
- sheet 43 has the same structural characteristics that the sheet 12, that is to say that its thickness is identical to that of the sheet 12 as well as its composition. Indeed, and as will be detailed below, the strip 43 and the sheet 12 come from the same initial strip.
- Adhesive 44 extends only in the middle part of the strip 43, considering the width thereof. So the side margins of the strip 43 are devoid of adhesive.
- the adhesive 44 and the facing surfaces of the pan 26A and the strip 43 are adapted so that the adhesion of the adhesive 44 on the strip 43 is greater the adhesion of the adhesive 44 to the pan 26A.
- a repellent coating is advantageously applied to the outer face of the sheet 12 in the region of the strip 43 to reduce the adhesion between the adhesive and the sheet.
- a repellent coating is advantageously arranged on the main face 16 not comprising the longitudinal welding and forming the face on which is subsequently glued the strip 43 after reclosing. This coating is arranged at the location where the strip 43 is glued.
- the repositionable adhesive consists of: a double adhesive tape cold application face, continuous; a hot melt for hot application, can be interrupted; or a cold adhesive coating, which can be interrupted.
- the packaging is produced continuously from an initial strip 50 packaged in a roll 52.
- the strip 50 has a width greater than the width of the sheet 12 required for the packaging.
- the strip 50 circulates in a unit 54 allowing the application of a adhesive on a marginal part 56 of the initial strip.
- the station 54 comprises a roller 58 for deflecting the strip, application and fixing of a double-sided adhesive tape 62 on the part 56.
- This double-sided adhesive tape 62 from a spool 64 placed on a continuous dispenser.
- Double sided tape is an adhesive repositionable.
- the unwinder and the ribbon are replaced by a head 60 hot-melt coating of the marginal part 56 with an adhesive repositionable.
- the roll strip already has a repositionable adhesive range.
- This range consists of an adhesive to water base which is previously printed when printing the film.
- a cutting station 66 suitable for continuously separate the marginal portion 56 previously provided with the adhesive of the rest of the initial strip to form, on the one hand, a packaging strip denoted 68 and, on the other hand, a reclosing band denoted 70 in this figure.
- the cutting station 66 comprises, for example, two cutting discs rotary 72 engaged through the initial strip and animated by a rotational movement by a drive motor 74.
- This station 76 comprises, for example, a fixed roller 78 coated with a sliding material such as "Teflon" whose axis generally extends parallel at the plane of the packaging strip 68.
- the axis of the roll is offset angularly relative to the direction of advancement of the packaging tape 68. It is arranged tangentially to the plane of the packaging strip 68.
- the reclosing band 70 is engaged around the roller 78, its adhesive-free side being in contact with the roller.
- Figure 3 allows, from the initial strip, to obtain, at the outlet of the gluing station 60, an initial strip the marginal part 56 of which is provided with an adhesive. This marginal region is cut by the station 66 and separated from the packaging strip 68.
- the reclosing strip 70 is then offset by the roller 78 and applied against the surface of the packaging strip 68 with its glued part applied against the surface 68.
- the reclosing band 70 is arranged apart from the edge marked 80 of the packaging strip 68.
- the packaging strip 68 to which the reclosing strip is secured is then placed around a tubular former having a generally circular section.
- the leaf thus wrapped around of the tubular former sees its two longitudinal edges close together on the other, and applied to each other along the face of the turned sheet towards the conformator.
- the longitudinal weld 14 is then carried out by tightening of the longitudinal edges between two heating jaws or between a anvil and a bit.
- the manufacture of the packaging is completed as known per se by realization simultaneous upper and lower transverse welds of two consecutive packages and by the separation of these two packages.
- the packaging is used as illustrated in Figures 4 to 6.
- Figure 4 the packaging is partially shown while a corner of the upper end of the neck 24 has been cut to ensure rupture partial of the upper transverse weld 18 and thus allow access to the inside of the pocket.
- the first stage of reclosing the packaging is to remove the upper part of the strip 43 of the pan 26A on the side of the opening.
- the user grasps the upper end of the strip 43 and pulls it down from the packaging.
- the adhesive 44 Due to the difference in adhesion of the adhesive 44 on the surface of the strip 43 and on the pan 26A, the adhesive is entrained with the strip 43, covering the middle part of the exposed surface thereof.
- the detached part of the strip at least over most of the length of the neck 24 constitutes a tab 90 still secured to the lower part of the packaging body.
- the base 92 of the strip constituting the part still linked to the body of the packaging, is located substantially in the region extreme filling of the packaging.
- the neck 24 is folded over itself several times to form a winding 94.
- This winding is formed along the main face 26 of the packaging with the weld 14.
- the glued tab 90 is kept away from the winding 94.
- the glued tab 90 is folded transversely above and around the winding 94, the free end of the tab 90 being glued to the main face 26 of the package opposite the main face bearing the weld 14.
- the winding 94 is kept wound by the action of the leg 90 glued, on the one hand, around the winding and secured, to each of its ends, of the main faces of the packaging.
- Figures 7 to 8 show alternative embodiments of a packaging according to the invention.
- Figure 7 is shown a package formed from a sheet single whose longitudinal weld 14 is of the flesh against leather type, that is to say that it is made by joining the opposite surfaces against each other of the sheet delimiting the packaging.
- FIG. 8 illustrates an alternative embodiment of the mode of realization of figure 2.
- the reclosing strip denoted 103 is consisting of two superimposed bands 43 connected to each other.
- One of strips 43 is secured by an adhesive to the outer surface of the sheet 12.
- the other strip 43 is linked to the first by an additional adhesive interposed between the two bands.
- the two strips 43 are connected to each other by welding in the region of the upper 18 and lower 16 welds. These welds are carried out simultaneously with welds 18 and 16.
- the installation for manufacturing the packaging sheet has the same elements as those of the installation in Figure 3.
- a gluing station 100 for the second strip is arranged downstream of the second cutting station 66 '. This station is suitable for applying an adhesive ensuring subsequent bonding of the two bands 43.
- a second shift station 76 ' is arranged to bring the second strip denoted 70 'above the first strip denoted 70.
- This second station has two rollers 78 ', 78 "defining an angle of 45 ° with the direction of advancement of the band.
- the first 78 'roller ensures a 90 ° change in direction of the strip from the direction the main belt, the second 78 "roller ensuring again a 90 ° angular offset of the strip so that it comes apply to the first strip 70 already applied against the packaging strip 68.
- the two strips 70, 70 ′ are glued when they are put in contact.
- Such an embodiment is particularly useful when the thickness of the packing sheet is reduced. Indeed, the doubling of the thickness of the reclosing band ensures greater resistance thereof.
- the packaging can be reliably closed, the winding formed from the collar can not take place by itself.
- the resealing of the packaging is guaranteed by a means having a very low cost, this means possibly be produced simultaneously with the bag packaging the products.
- putting in place of the winding retaining means is relatively easy to the user.
- packages are continuously formed here. Alternatively, however, packages are prefabricated and left open at one end. They are not only closed and sealed at this end after filling.
