Abstract
Eine Kraftstoffpumpe (14) umfasst ein Gehäuse (46) und mindestens eine Antriebswelle (38). Ferner ist eine Mehrzahl von Pumpelementen (44) vorgesehen, welche von der Antriebswelle (38) angetrieben werden und welche jeweils einen Arbeitsraum (48) begrenzen. Die Kraftstoffpumpe (14) umfasst einen einlassseitigen Niederdruckbereich (18) und einen Hochdruckbereich (20). Um die Belastung der Komponenten im Niederdruckbereich 18 möglichst gering zu halten, wird vorgeschlagen, dass mindestens einem Arbeitsraum (48b, 48c) eine individuell ansteuerbare Ventileinrichtung (54b, 54c) zugeordnet ist, mit der dieser Arbeitsraum (48b, 48c) mit dem Niederdruckbereich (18) zwangsweise verbunden werden kann, so dass aus diesem Arbeitsraum (48b, 48c) wenigstens zeitweise nicht in den Hochdruckbereich (20) gefördert wird. A fuel pump (14) comprises a housing (46) and at least one drive shaft (38). A plurality of pump elements (44) are also provided, which are driven by the drive shaft (38) and which each delimit a working space (48). The fuel pump (14) comprises an inlet-side low pressure area (18) and a high pressure area (20). In order to keep the load on the components in the low pressure area 18 as low as possible, it is proposed that at least one work space (48b, 48c) is assigned an individually controllable valve device (54b, 54c) with which this work space (48b, 48c) with the low pressure area ( 18) can be forcibly connected, so that delivery from this working space (48b, 48c) at least temporarily into the high pressure area (20) is not possible.
