    Claims (16)

    1. A depilatory appliance comprising a case (1) and an electric motor (2) that sets in motion a depilatory head having plucking tweezers (110, 111), the movable portion of the head being supported by two side plates (40, 41), each tweezer having at least one movable blade (111) actuated by mechanical means to close or open said tweezers, said mechanical means including camforming control means (400) in at least one side plate (40) and actuator means (118) on the movable portion of the depilatory head, said actuator means receiving the motion from the cam, and transmitting it to the movable blades, the tweezers being brought back to an open position or a closed position by resilient means,
         said depilatory appliance being characterized in that the plucking tweezers (110, 111) that are situated on a common generator line, and also their actuator means (118) and their resilient means (105) are mounted on a common support to form a module, and in that the modules are hinged one to another to make up a chain.
    2. A depilatory appliance according to claim 1, characterized in that the actuator means (118) include pushers (106) that act on the movable blades (111) by bearing against the working surfaces of cams (400) that are secured to side plates, said working surfaces being substantially parallel to the side plates, and having protuberances.
    3. A depilatory appliance according to claim 1, characterized in that the control means are cams (400) each having a working surface that is perpendicular to the side plates, and in that the actuator means (118) include a motion transmitter which transforms the initial motion from the control means that is substantially parallel to the side plates into a motion of the lips of the movable blade (111) that is substantially perpendicular to the side plates.
    4. A depilatory appliance according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the motion transmitter is a lever (118) that pivots about an axis (117).
    5. A depilatory appliance according to claim 3 or claim 4, characterized in that it has as many actuator means as there are movable blades (111) with which said actuator means are associated respectively, said actuator means being actuated by the same respective control means.
    6. A depilatory appliance according to the preceding claim, characterized in that each movable blade (111) is associated with a lever (118) so that together they make up a unit sub-assembly that pivots about an axis (117).
    7. A depilatory appliance according to claim 2, characterized in that the movable blades (111) having lips situated on a common generator line of the envelope surface of the depilatory head, are associated with at least one slider (104).
    8. A depilatory appliance according to any preceding claim, characterized in that the tweezers are normally closed through the action of resilient means, such as a spring (105), and the mechanical means act in order to open the tweezers.
    9. A depilatory appliance according to claim 8, characterized in that the tweezers (110, 111) open in a region that is not used during depilation.
    10. A depilatory appliance according to any preceding claim, characterized in that the tweezers are offset laterally so that the plucking zones (116) complement one another over the surface to be depilated, from one tweezer of a generator line to the tweezer of the next generator line.
    11. A depilatory appliance according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the tweezers (110, 111) are distributed over various generator lines of the movable portion of the depilation head, and two tweezers are disposed on each generator line concerned.
    12. A depilatory appliance according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the two plucking tweezers (110, 111) close simultaneously at the moment when they move into the zone to be depilated.
    13. A depilatory appliance according to any preceding claim, characterized in that the depilation head includes a depilation window (300) situated on a flat, or slightly convex, portion of its envelope surface, the window having a plurality of closure zones for closing the tweezers.
    14. A depilatory appliance according to any preceding claim, characterized in that the depilatory head includes a depilatory window (200) situated on a strongly curved portion of its envelope surface.
    15. A depilatory appliance according to any preceding claim, characterized in that the movable portion of the depilatory head presents an envelope section having a side that is rectilinear or slightly convex and connected to another side by a strongly curved part.
    16. A depilatory appliance according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the depilatory head includes a region (300) on its envelope surface that includes a plurality of plucking strips that are perpendicular to the side plates where the tweezers close, and a smaller region (200) that includes a single plucking strip where the tweezers close, the regions likely to be applied against the skin being a larger region and a smaller region, respectively.
