Definitions
- the present invention relates to a tweezers with pliers of tearing likely to be hand-held and intended to eliminate unwanted hair from human body.
- patent EP0147285 discloses epilators which comprise pliers in the form of blades or discs arranged on a rotating roller, the tongs being caused to close and open periodically so as to tighten the hairs near the skin to tear them off by the rotation of the roll and, respectively, to evacuate the torn hairs.
- patent FR2646065 discloses epilators whose edges are free tearing blades oscillate along a substantially plane.
- US Pat. No. 5,254,124 discloses epilators whose pliers are at the end of a disc or a cylinder.
- the purpose of the present invention is an epilator with pliers, pliers being periodically free of skin that may contain several tear-off windows that can be used for restricted areas of skin or for wide areas of the skin
- a depilatory device comprising a housing, a electric motor moving a pliers hair removal head the moving part of the head being supported by two flanges lateral members, each clamp comprising at least one movable blade actuated by mechanical means for closing or opening the tongs, said mechanical means comprising in at least one flange of first control means acting as a cam and on the moving part of the epilation head of the second actuating means receiving the movement due to the cam and transmitting it to the moving blades, the clamps being recalled in an open or closed position by means elastic, because the tweezers on the same generator, as well as their actuating means and their elastic means, are mounted in a common medium with which they form a module, and the fact that modules are articulated together side by side and form a chain.
- envelope surface a surface set wrapping the epilation head and that is generated by a straight line moving in translation or in rotation or by a combination of both movements.
- This modular design of the epilation head allows the realization of many device variants. For example, by changing the number of modules we change the number of clamps and we can vary the size of the head hair removal. Each module may have only a small number of blades, this low number being compensated by a larger number of modules.
- the Hair removal area can have any profile. Only one manufacturing tool is necessary to obtain different versions of devices.
- the second actuating means comprise pushers acting on the movable blades resting on the surface working cams solidarity side flanges, this work surface being substantially parallel to the flanges and having protuberances.
- the first control means are cams whose working surface is perpendicular to the flanges and the second actuating means comprise a movement transfer transforming the initial movement substantially parallel to the flanges due to first means in a movement of the movable blade lips substantially perpendicular to the flanges.
- This arrangement avoids inducing efforts to move the moving part the hair removal head, to remove the flanges and likely to solicit mechanically the structure of the device.
- the movement return is a lever pivoting about an axis
- the use of a lever allows the movement to be returned.
- the lip of a blade mobile moves parallel to the skin, and the end of the lever moves substantially in a plane parallel to the flanges.
- the longitudinal efforts of tightening of the clamps are balanced by the axis of rotation belonging to the part mobile hair removal head.
- the use of a lever allows to amplify the movement of the clamp and to reduce the forces on the cam of ordered.
- the movements, being amplified become big in front of manufacturing tolerances of parts and games, as well as wear. The Reliability of the device is increased.
- the apparatus comprises as many actuating means as there are mobile blades with which they are respectively associated, these second means being actuated by the same first control means.
- the movable blades being operated independently of each other, a crowded clamp does not affect the clamping of the other clamps.
- the effectiveness is increased.
- the forces on each actuating means are small, the motor is regularly requested and the service life is increased.
- each movable blade is associated with a lever doing with it last one subassembly monobloc pivoting about an axis.
- each blade is then movable in oscillation about the axis.
- the construction is very simple, robust, and requires only a game of operation easily controllable.
- the end of the lever comprises a roller for limit friction on the control cam.
- the movable blades whose lips are located on a same generator of the envelope surface of the epilation head are associated with at least one slide.
- the slide moves perpendicularly to the flanges and drives the blades moving in an oscillation around the foot of each blade or in a translation.
- the tongs are normally closed by means of a means such as a spring and the mechanical means act to open the pliers.
- the clamps being closed under the action of a spring, the clamping pressure of the hair is constant over time and well controlled without any adjustments necessary for assembly or during use. It does not depend on the stroke of the blades and the degree of wear of the mechanical means of opening, reliability is increased.
- the closing force of the clamps by the spring is determined in such a way as to ensure optimum tightening all types of hair, without cutting them when pulling.
- the mechanical means act against the clamping spring whose force is substantially constant.
- the opening of the tongs can be relatively slow allowing moderate slopes on the cams and allowing large linear speeds of the clamps. Closing under the action of the springs can be brutal, the hairs are then seized and torn off virtually which minimizes the pain.
- the springs can be applied directly against the moving clamp or on a part of the actuating means such as the slide or the lever.
- the clamps open in a region that is not used during hair removal.
- This arrangement allows the removal of torn hairs out of the zone hair removal.
- the clips are laterally offset so that a clip from one generator to that of the next the pinch areas get complete above the surface to be depilated.
- the clamps being distributed on different generators of the moving part of the epilation head, two clamps are arranged on each generator concerned.
- the two pulling tongs are simultaneously closed at moment of their passage in the area to be depilated.
- the clamps can be each actuated by a cam located in a flaccid and in the other.
- the epilation head has a hair removal window located on a flat or slightly convex part of its envelope surface, the window having a plurality of gripper closing zones.
- Hair removal is thus easily obtained over a wide area of the skin.
- the epilation head has a hair removal window located on a part with a strong curvature of its envelope surface.
- the device then allows the precise hair removal of narrow areas of the skin.
- the moving part of the epilation head has a section envelope with one side straight or slightly domed and connected to another side by a portion of strong curvature.
- the section can be oblong, elliptical, oval or take a shape triangular with rounded corners. It can be designed according to all possibilities that allows a chain.
- the epilation head comprises a region comprising several pinch strips perpendicular to the flanges where the clamps close, and a reduced extent region having a single pinch strip where the clamps close, the regions being likely to be applied on the skin respectively according to an extended area and a reduced extent area.
- a hair removal head of a device is composed of several modules 100 having a global shape of right prism.
- the modules carrying the pliers of tearing are articulated between them side by side and form a chain which circulates between two flanges 40, 41.
- the envelope surface of the chain is then a right prism section preferably oblong with variable radii of curvature.
- the apparatus comprises a housing 1 comprising a motor 2 driving the head depilation via a set of gears 3.
- An internal structure 4 to the housing 1 supports the motor 2, the pinions 3 and two flanges 40, 41 between which the moving part the hair removal head is moving.
- the depilating head comprises a drive shaft 5 having a shaft toothed wheel 6 at each end, and several modules such as 100 mounted side by side generatrices parallel to the axis 5 and interconnected by articulations of axis 102 to form a chain.
- Each module comprises gear elements 103 that can come into contact with each wheel toothed 6, so that the chain is driven externally by the wheels 6.
- the flanges 40, 41 each comprise a groove 402 in which circulate the ends of the hinge pins 102 which ensures the guiding of the chain.
- the chain is internally driven, for example by arranging the gear elements 103 of the modules 100 oriented towards interior in order to come into contact with at least one drive wheel located at inside the chain, drive wheel that receives the movement of the motor 2 via a set of gears.
- the drive wheel is a gear wheel located inside the chain, especially in the center of the active side, which reduces the forces and friction in the mechanisms of the chain.
- two drive wheels are placed with their axes of rotation at the centers of curvature of the chain.
- Each module has a body such as 101 carrying a series of fixed blades 110 associated with a series of movable blades 111 to form a series of pliers to depilate.
- the movable blades are carried by a slide 104 which is recalled by a spring 105 so that the tongs formed by the blades 110, 111 are normally closed.
- the slide 104 is connected rigidly to a pusher 106 directed to a flask.
- the movable blades are embedded for example by overmolding on the slide 104.
- the blades are articulated to their foot on the body 101 and the slide drives them in a swinging motion to ward off the outer lips of the tongs
- the slide has only one moving blade.
- the first blade 112 of each module is positioned at a different distance 113 from the end 114 of the moving part of the head to tweezers.
- the blades of the different series are spread according to the not even 115. This distance 113 is chosen so that the different series of blades sweep pinch areas of width 116 at locations different and complementary on the skin.
- a flange 40 carries a cam 400 whose active face is substantially parallel but provided with protuberances 401. Each protuberance corresponds to an area where the clamps must be open. The tips of the pushers 106 circulate in the immediate vicinity of the cam 400, so that they are actuated by the projection or protuberances 401.
- the two flanges are provided with a cam and the modules are mounted alternately so that the pushers are affected by one or other of the cams.
- the two flanges are provided with each of a cam and each module has two scenes each linked to a pusher.
- the pushers of each module are respectively concerned by the cams of the two flanges.
- a module has two series of one or more clamps. The module then presents a symmetry by ratio to a median plane of the hair removal head.
- the pinions 6 When the user turns on the device, the pinions 6 are rotating, driving the modules 100 along the cam 400.
- the movable blades 111 are normally in close contact against the fixed blades 110, being recalled by the spring 105.
- the end of the pusher 106 is free but closely follows the surface of the cam 400.
- the protuberance 401 of the cam 400 acts on the pusher 106 which then moves the slide 104 against the action of the spring 105 causing the blades 111 in an opening movement 116.
- the pilosities can then be introduced between the blades 110,111.
- the end of the pusher 106 escapes the action of the protrusion 401, the clamps formed by the blades 110, 111 are closed in encircling the hairs, under the action of the spring 105.
- the movement of training the hair removal head then pulls out the hair.
- FIG. differs from the previous embodiment in the design of modules and cams.
- Each module comprises a body 101 carrying a series of fixed blades 110 associated with a series of movable blades 111 to form a series of pliers to tweezers.
- the movable blades are carried by a slide 104 which is recalled by a spring 105 so that the clamps formed by the blades 110, 111 are normally closed.
- Each module body 101 supports an axis 117 around which oscillates a lever 118. This lever is connected to the slide 104 by a gear.
- the free end 119 of the lever 118 is oriented so that its movement oscillation is substantially perpendicular to the movement of the slide 104 and therefore moving blades 111.
- a flange 40 carries a cam 400 whose active face provided with protuberances is substantially perpendicular. Each protuberance corresponds to a zone where the tongs must be open.
- the ends 119 of the levers 118 circulate in the immediate vicinity of the periphery of the cam 400, so that they are actuated by the one or more protuberances.
- the two flanges are provided with a cam and the modules are mounted alternately so that the levers are affected by one or other of the cams.
- the two flanges are provided with each of a cam and each module has two scenes each linked to a lever.
- the levers of each module are respectively concerned by the cams of both flanges.
- a module has two series one or more clamps. The module then has a symmetry with respect to a median plane of the hair removal head.
- the axis shaft 5 When the user turns on the device, the axis shaft 5 is rotated, driving the modules along the cam 400.
- the movable blades 111 are normally in close contact against the fixed blades 110, being recalled by the spring 105.
- the end 119 of the lever 118 is free but closely follows the surface of the cam 400.
- the protuberance of the cam 400 acts on the lever 118 by pivoting it about the axis 117.
- the lever 118 then moves the slide 104 against the action of the spring 105 causing the blades 111 in an opening movement of the pliers, race 116.
- the pilosities can then be introduced between the blades 110, 111.
- the end 119 of the lever 118 escapes the action of the cam 400, the clamps formed by the blades 110, 111 are closed by gripping the hairs, under the action of the spring 105.
- the movement of the hair removal head then pulls the hair.
- the lever 118 transforms the movement of the blades 111 and the slide 104 in a perpendicular movement of the end 119 in contact with the cam 400.
- the axis 117 being fixed in the module, no effort in the direction of displacement of the blades is not transmitted to the cam nor to the structure of the device.
- the forces perpendicular to the surface of the cam 400 and substantially parallel to the flange 40 are balanced essentially by the axes 102 through the flange 40 which is therefore the only part mainly solicited to order the blades.
- the lever 118 makes it possible to amplify the movement of movement of the blades and to reduce the forces on the cam 40. In order to ensure a good closure of the clamps, there is a clearance between the end 119 of the lever 118 and the cam 400 during this closure. Spring 105 can then fully exercise his effort on the hairs tight between the blades. The friction of the lever 118 on the Cam 400 is reduced to a friction on the protrusion or protrusions.
- the apparatus differs from the second embodiment of the invention in the design of the modules and cams.
- Each module comprises a body 101 carrying two associated fixed blades 110 respectively to two movable blades 111 to form two tweezers.
- Each movable blade is carried by a lever 118 which is biased by a spring 105 of so that the clamps formed by the blades 110, 111 are normally closed.
- Each lever 118 oscillates about an axis 117 supported by the body of module 101.
- the free end 119 of the lever 118 is oriented relative to the axis 117 so that its oscillation movement is substantially perpendicular to the movement of the outer lip of the associated movable blade 111.
- Each movable blade is embedded for example by overmoulding on its lever 118 with which it forms a monobloc subassembly.
- the first blade of the module is positioned at a distance 113 different on each module 100 from the end 114 of the moving part of the depilatory head.
- This distance 113 is chosen so that the clips of the different modules 100 scan areas of width 116 at locations different and complementary on the skin.
- the flanges 40, 41 each carry a cam 400 whose active face perpendicular to the flanges is provided with at least one protuberance 401.
- Each protuberance corresponds to an area where the clamps must be open.
- the ends 119 of the levers 118 move in the immediate vicinity of the around the cam 400 closest to the corresponding moving blade, to be actuated by the protuberances 401.
- the cams 400 are of sufficient thickness to join to the median plane of the device, thus serving as a spacer for both flanges.
- the housing 1 has in the vicinity of the epilation head two openings 200 and 300 by which the hair removal head can be applied on the skin to be depilated and materializing hair removal windows.
- An opening 200 is such that it allows to apply a zone of strong curvature of the chain on the skin. This opening has a single pinch zone due to one of the protuberances 401 of the cam 400.
- An opening 300 is such that it makes it possible to apply a zone of low curvature of the chain on the skin. This opening has two zones pinching due to two protuberances 401 of the cam 400.
- the axis shaft 5 When the user turns on the device, the axis shaft 5 is rotated, driving the modules 100 along the cam 400.
- the movable blades 111 are normally in close contact against the fixed blades 110, being recalled by the springs 105.
- the ends 119 of the levers 118 are free but follow closely the surface of the cams 400.
- the protuberance 401 of the cam 400 acts on the lever 118 by pivoting it about the axis 117.
- the lever 118 then moves by pivoting against the action of the spring 105 and causes the blade 111 in an opening movement of the clamp.
- the pilosities can then to enter between the blades 110, 111.
- the end 119 of the lever 118 escapes the action of the protuberance 401, the clamps formed by the blades 110, 111 close by clasping the hair, under the action of the spring 105.
- the movement of the hair removal head then pulls the hair.
- the lever 118 transforms the movement of the blade 111 in a perpendicular movement of the end 119 in contact with the cam 400. Since axis 117 is fixed in the module, no effort in the direction of the movement of the blades is not transmitted to the cam or the structure of the device. We thus find the same advantages as with the previous realization.
- each clamp makes it possible to well control the tightening of the hairs.
- the use of an actuating means for open each clamp simplifies parts and allows manufacturing tolerances easier to satisfy, the opening stroke of the blades being not critical for get a good clamping of the clamps.
- the weak efforts put into play allow a rapid movement of the chain conducive to instant hair removal and not very painful
- the user can use one or the other epilation windows 200, 300.
- the window 200 corresponding to a zone of strong curvature of the chain is suitable for epilating specific and limited areas of the skin, while the window 300 with several tear-off zones is suitable for epilating quickly larger surfaces.
- the torn hairs are released away from the skin when the modules arrive in the window 300 unused where the clamps open again.
- the window 300 the bristles driven by tearing are removed away from the skin when the modules arrive in the window 200 unused. The removal of torn hairs is thus always correct.
- the unused window is capped by a removable receptacle receiving the hairs removed for evacuation higher.
