Definitions

  • the invention relates to a sword folder with a folding blade and a pair of folding rollers associated transport device through which a signature is conveyed before the folding to a leading edge stop.
  • front edge stops and often side edge stops are typically provided so that the signature undergoes guidance during the deceleration or braking operation and aligned along the predetermined by the geometry of the folding blade coordinates.
  • Known designs of Schwertfalzwerken typically have motorized stop carrier with fixed fixed stop fingers, often provided for a minimum format of the processed signatures on.
  • Schwertfalztechnike in folding machines are verwerdet particular for the production of cross cracks, for example in so-called Kombifalzmaschinen, which have both at least one pocket and a sword folder.
  • US 5,158,524 discloses such stops on a knife folder.
  • This document discloses a blade folder having a leading edge stop for slowing the movement of a sheet conveyed across the seam gap by a conveyor and stops for preventing vertical movement of the side edges of the sheet during the folding operation.
  • the vertical motion stops and the leading edge stop are movable and can be moved together, for example, to pull them off the folding nip in the event of a misoperation to quickly fix the problem.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object to provide a sword folder with adjustable stops, which allows a stop configuration depending on material and production parameters.
  • the invention is based on the object that an automatic adjustment can be made.
  • the sword folding mechanism comprises a transport device associated with a folding blade and a pair of folding rollers, by means of which a signature is conveyed to a front edge stop before the folding operation. It is characterized in that the leading edge stop comprises at least one stop carrier which can be moved relative to the folding blade and which has at least one stop finger with guide bars movable relative to the stop carrier.
  • the construction of the Schwertfalzwerkes invention is designed so that the stop carrier and the stop fingers can be set fully automatically according to the format of the signature to be folded.
