Claims (10)

  1. Chopper folding unit including a transport device that is assigned to a folding blade (22) and to a pair of folding rollers (24) and moves a signature (23) to a front edge stop (2) before the folding operation,
    characterized in
    that the front edge stop (2) comprises a stop carrier (16) that is movable relative to the folding blade (22) and includes at least one stop finger (17) movable relative to the stop carrier (16) and including guide rods (19.1, 19.2).
  2. Chopper folding unit according to claim 1,
    characterized in
    that the stop carrier (16) is movable in a direction essentially parallel to the direction of transport (30) of the signature (23), that the stop finger (17) is movable in a direction essentially perpendicular to the plane defined by the transport device (30), and that the guide rods (19.1, 19.2) are essentially parallel to the plane defined by the transport direction (30).
  3. Chopper folding unit according to claim 1 or claim 2 including additional side stops (9, 10) for aligning the signature along coordinates defined by the geometry of the folding blade,
    characterized in
    that at least one of the side stops (9, 10) includes at least one hold-down belt above and/or a transport belt (9.2) below the transport path of the signature (23) and/or that at least one side edge stop (9, 10) is movable relative to the folding blade (22).
  4. Chopper folding unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in
    that folding grilles (20, 21) are provided at least between a side edge stop (9, 10) and a guide rail (8) on a guide plate (6) below the folding blade (22) above and/or below the transport path of the signature.
  5. Chopper folding unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in
    that a rest position and at least one active position are provided for at least one stop finger (17), and that the stop finger (17) clears the transport path of the signature (23) past the folding blade (22) when the stop finger (17) is in the rest position and blocks the transport path of the signature (23) past the position of the folding blade (22) and that a portion of the lower guide rods (19.2) comes to rest below the plane defined by the transport device and a portion of the upper guide rods (19.1) comes to rest above the plane defined by the transport device when the stop finger (17) is in an active position.
  6. Chopper folding unit according to claim 5,
    characterized in
    that several stop fingers (17) are provided, and at lest two stop fingers (17) can be moved from the rest position into an active position and back independently of each other.
  7. Chopper folding unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in
    that the movement of the stop carrier (16) and/or the movement of at lest one of the stop fingers (17) und/or of at least one side edge stop (9, 10) is achieved by an actuator (11.1, 11.2, 12.1, 12.2, 14, 15, 25, 26).
  8. Chopper folding unit according to claim 7, additionally including a control unit,
    characterized in
    that the control unit addresses at least one actuator (11.1, 11.2, 12.1, 12.2, 14, 15, 25, 26) as a function of at least one signature parameter in such a way that a positioning of the stop carrier (16) and/or of at least one stop finger (17) and/or of at least one side edge stop (9, 10) corresponding to the format of the signature (23) to be folded is achieved.
  9. Folder for sheet-shaped material including at least one feeder, a transport device, at least one folding unit, and a delivery,
    characterized in
    that the folder includes a chopper folding unit according to one of the preceding claims.
  10. Folder according to claim 9,
    characterized in
    that the folder additionally includes at least one buckle folding unit.
