Claims (13)
- A strip-casting machine for producing a metal strip, comprising two casting rolls (22, 24) which are arranged adjacent to one another, forming a casting gap, and are rotatably mounted on a machine tool table (32), wherein the machine tool table (32) carrying said casting rolls (22, 24) can be displaced on rails (48, 48') from the casting position (G) into a maintenance position (W) and conversely, that extending away rails to both sides of the casting position are arranged, characterised in that

- The strip casting machine according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the distance between the casting position (G) and the maintenance position (W) is a few housing or casting roll lengths so that work can be carried out in the maintenance position undisturbed by the casting sequence.
- The strip casting machine according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the maintenance position (W) maintenance equipment is provided with which the casting rollers (22, 24) can be cleaned, stripped and the surface freshly prepared without dismantling.
- The strip casting machine according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that side seals (25) on both sides of the casting rolls (22, 24) can be guided out of or into the housing (30) by at least one manipulator (40) in each case which is displaceable outside the housing (30) and can be positioned or pressed therein onto the front of the casting rolls.
- The strip casting machine according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the side seals (25) on both sides of the casting rolls (22, 24) are positioned or pressed onto the fronts of the casting rolls by at least one manipulator 40) travelling with the housing.
- The strip casting machine according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that in a multi-strand casting plant at least two adjacent strip casting machines (20) are provided, which are supplied with liquid melt by a single distributor vessel and of which one housing together with the casting rolls, for example, with casting rolls of different width, can be exchanged whilst the other housing remains in use.
- The strip casting machine according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that in the case of two independent casting strands the changing and maintenance position (W) located between the casting strands can be used for both casting strands as desired.
- A method for changing the casting rolls (22, 24) of a strip-casting machine for producing a metal strip, comprising two casting rolls (22, 24) which are arranged adjacent to one another, forming a casting gap, and are rotatably mounted on a machine tool table (32), wherein the machine tool tab le (32) carrying said casting rolls (22, 24) can be displaced on rails (48, 48') from the casting position (G) into a maintenance position (W) and conversely, according to one of the claims 8 or 9, characterised in that a new machine tool table with the housing (30) with prepared casting rolls is displaced along the axes of rotation of the casting rolls into the casting position (G) in place of the one to be exchanged, the side seals (25) are then positioned or pressed onto the fronts of the casting rolls (22, 24) by means of the manipulators (40) protective castings (38) surrounding the manipulators and a cover (35) are connected tightly to the housing (30) and the interior of said housing is filled with a protective gas so that after the necessary electrical of other connections have been made, casting can begin.
- The method according to claim 12, characterised in that the casting rolls (22, 24) can be changed without there being any need to empty a distributor vessel (18) containing the metal melt, for which purpose the cover (35) is raised before the change and after removing the side seals (25) from the housing, the casting rolls (22, 24) are moved away horizontally along their axes of rotation and the new casting rolls, for example, provided with different widths are accordingly supplied so that the casting tube again comes to rest without contact between said rolls.
