Description

The invention relates to a cutting device for cutting a material web in a folding machine, comprising a cylinder which receives at least one cutting knife, which cooperates with a counter tool to cut said material web in the transverse direction, said cylinder accommodating at least one perforating knife or a crushing knife, the perforating or squeezing the web at a particular location in at least a portion of its width to form a first transverse fold in the web.

A cutting device of this type is known in the art from DE-A-19927920 known. This has two axially parallel and against each other rotating cylinder, between which passes through the material web to be processed. The two cylinders are equipped with a cutting knife and a cutter, as well as perforation knives and perforation counterparts, in order to cut and perforate the material web in succession. When cutting and perforating a certain pair of tools is always engaged. In a first position of the two cylinders, a separation of the material web takes place, wherein these between a cutting blade and a cutting blade is clamped over its entire width. In a second position, the material web is perforated by the second pair of tools. For this purpose, the material web is processed by the perforation knife and the associated Perforierungsgegenmesser. In this cutting device, there is the difficulty that a conversion to another format would be possible only with great effort.

The invention has for its object to provide a cutting device of the type mentioned, which allows a much easier conversion to other formats.

The object is achieved according to claim 1, characterized in that the counter-tool is a fixed counter blade, which successively engages with the cutting blade and the perforation or the crushing knife. In the inventive cutting device, only one cylinder is provided. The tools of this cylinder come for cutting and perforating with the common fixed counter blade engaged. The fixed counter knife is thus used for cutting as well as for perforating. For a conversion to another format, only the installation position of the entire insert must be adjusted in the inventive cutting device and the corresponding format-appropriate speed can be adjusted. Retooling remains particularly easy even if according to an embodiment of the invention, the cylinder has a plurality of positions at which optional cutting or perforation can be arranged. Since only one cylinder is required, the inventive cutting device is also much simpler in construction and can be produced more cheaply.

Bei einem solchen Schnitt lassen sich Fransen vermeiden und die Entstehung von Papierstaub wird wesentlich vermindertA cut and a perforation with higher quality while reducing the machine load and increase the service life can be achieved if, according to a development of the invention, at least the cutting blade separates the material web by means of an oblique line of action with a paper cut. In such a paper cut only a part of the knife is in engagement with the material web. In contrast to the known squeezing cut, which is used in the prior art cutting device, only a part of the cutting blade is in engagement with the material web and the counter knife and thus not the entire web width is cut simultaneously. The paper cut also has the advantage that the quality of the cut sheets is much higher. With such a cut, fringes can be avoided and the generation of paper dust is significantly reduced

Perforating knife is here also understood to mean a knife in which the material web is merely squeezed and thus prepared for the transverse fold. The perforation or crushing does not necessarily have to take place over the entire area of the material web. It can also be used a segmented tool. In a particular embodiment, moreover, the perforation knife can also be provided with an irregular division. Thus, the web or the web can be cut in certain areas, for example in its middle of the track. The remaining paper web width can be perforated. In addition, to prepare the transverse fold, the material web can also be squeezed in a partial area. Conceivable here is a combination of perforation and contusion.

Further advantageous features emerge from the dependent claims, the following description and the drawings.

In the Fig. 1 shown cutting device 10 has a cylinder 2, which is preferably designed as a slide-in cylinder and which is driven in the direction of arrow 9 about an axis A. This cylinder 2 works with a fixed counter knife 4 together. The cylinder 2 and the counter knife 4 are used for cutting and perforating a material web 1, in particular a paper web, which passes in the direction of the arrow 8 between the cylinder 2 and the counter knife 4. The material web 1 is cut into sheets 7, one of which in Fig. 6 is shown. These sheets 7 have a perforation P along which a transverse fold is formed in a folding device not shown and known per se. The perforation P may also be some other weakening or pinching.

The cylinder 2 has according Fig. 1 a cutting blade 3 and a perforation 5 on which, as shown offset 180 ° to each other and are arranged on the circumference 6 of the cylinder 2. In the Fig. 1 the cutting blade 3 with the counter knife 4 is engaged. In the position shown thus the material web 1 is severed transversely. After a rotation of 180 °, the perforating blade 5 comes into engagement with the counter knife 4 and perforates the material web 1. The counter knife 4 thus comes successively with the cutting blade 3 and the perforation 5 in engagement. For the two knives 3 and 5 is thus a common and fixed counter knife 4 is provided. The separated with the cutting device 10 of the web 1 sheet 7 thus have a center perforation P on. The perforation P need not necessarily take place over the entire width B of the sheet 7. A transverse fold is already made possible by a partial perforation, a partial section or by a pinch.

At the in Fig. 2 shown cutting device 10 ', a cylinder 2' with a cutting blade 3 and a perforation 5 is provided. But the two blades 3 and 5 are as shown offset by less than 180 ° to each other. With the cylinder 2 'are cut from the web 1 sheet in which the perforation P seen in the longitudinal direction is eccentric. The sheet division is thus unequal and serves, for example, to form a gripping salt on which the sheet can be opened in an opening drum.

The cylinder 2 may also have a plurality of perforating blades 5, as shown in FIG Fig. 7b is shown. This cylinder 2 '', offset by 90 °, has a cutting blade 3 and three perforation blades 5. From the material web 1 'with this cylinder 2''arc7' separated, having three perforations P. The Perforierungsmesser 5 and the cutting blade 3 are preferably removably mounted in grooves 11. The cylinder 2 according Fig. 6b can thus be obtained by removing two Perforierungsmessern 5. Of course, the cylinder 2 can be converted to the cylinder 2 '' without further ado. Also possible here is a design with a cutting blade 3 and a perforation blade 5, wherein both blades are offset by 90 ° to each other.

The cutting cylinder 2 operates according to the Fig. 3 to 5 with a sloping line of action. The continuous material web 1 is thus not abruptly processed on the entire width, but the processing takes place in a by a certain angle to the direction of 8 inclined line of action. This results in a reduced load, an improved perforation and by the rolling motion a reduced excitation of the machine compared to a crushing. Overall, this leads to an improved quality and at the same time to an increased service life of the perforation blade 5 and the counter knife 4 3 and 4 illustrate the inclination of the cylinder 2 to the direction 8 of the material web 1. The angle α of the inclination is drawn here for reasons of drawing much larger than intended. The angle α is preferably less than 1 °. The Fig. 5 clearly shows how incision S is formed at an edge 12 of the material web 1 by a gradually and continuously increasing incision S '. The cutting blade 3 or the perforation blade 5 is thus in each case only over a short area with the material web 1 in engagement. This region extends transversely to the direction of arrow 8 in the transverse direction as indicated by arrow 13. The cutting blade 3 and the perforation 5 can also be arranged slightly helical on the cylinder 2 in a conventional manner. This is known per se and reference is made to the Polygraph Handbook by Wolfgang Walenski, page 55, 1991 Polygraph Verlag GmbH, Frankfurt am Main.
