- Another object of the invention is a lifting ring body as described above, which comprises a loop, a smooth cylindrical pin, a peripheral groove being formed near the free end of this pin, an expandable rod being inserted into said groove.
- a clamping collar holds the compressed ring in place prior to insertion of the smooth pin into a suitable housing.
- An advantage of the invention is that one can gain on the strength of the axis, because, for example, a smooth pin diameter 48 is stronger than an M 48 thread, especially at the junction with the ring . It is easy to increase the resistance passing from a diameter of ⁇ 48 to a diameter of ⁇ 56, the resistance being multiplied by ⁇ 1.8, thus making it possible to offer a capacity of use in traction at 90 ° close that of axial traction. Generally the loss of efficiency at 90 ° is of the order of 40% compared to the axial traction, because of the weakness at the junction point on conventional rings both monobloc and articulated.
- the cost of a smooth spindle ⁇ 56 is lower than that of a threaded spindle ⁇ 48, although of smaller diameter.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to lifting rings, especially for heavy load.
The lifting ring of the invention is more particularly designed for suspended loads requiring precise positioning and orientation maneuvers, such as industrial injection molds, etc.
Conventional pivoting lifting rings comprise a pivoting body supporting a shackle and an anchoring element consisting of a threaded rod.
Their weak point (zone of rupture) is not generally the ring but the junction between the threaded part and the bearing surface of the ring on the load. This observation is true both on monobloc rings and articulated rings (it amplifies even more when the ring is not perfectly plated on the bearing face).
In addition, the users of tools (especially in the case of plastic injection molds) are often hampered by rings that do not leave much room to pass the lifting hook, so that the plugs, the various connections, the pipes are torn off during handling and especially during the turning of the manipulated parts.
There is therefore a real demand to safely move the attachment point of the surface of the molds, but also a security problem, because very often users resort to makeshift assemblies and other hazardous solutions with rings mounted on extensions to move the attachment point away from the support face of the load.
The invention solves the above problems by providing smooth-tailed rings, with retaining system as explained in the technical development below, and also makes it possible, thanks to the space saving achieved, the addition of a base allowing high offset rings of exceptional strength.
The object of the invention is a load lifting ring, comprising a hooking loop, a pivoting body and an anchoring element in the body of a load in which the anchoring element is a cylindrical pin. smooth. A peripheral groove is formed near the free end of this pin, an expandable rod being inserted into said groove. The pin is engaged and locked axially in a cylindrical housing secured to the body of the load by the rod. The cylindrical housing comprises a second peripheral groove opposite that of the spindle, in which the expandable rod is inserted.
The expandable rod is preferably a split elastic ring, or it comprises an elastic piece exerting an outward thrust on rollers or segments, so as to engage them in the groove.
The loop can be an integral part of the body of the ring or passes through an eyecup integrated in the body of the ring.
According to an advantageous embodiment, the cylindrical housing in which the pivoting body is mounted is formed in a base fixed to the body of the load.
The top of this base may have a significant forward offset relative to the surface of the load, which facilitates handling in suspension.
In this case, it is advantageous that the cylindrical housing passes through the base.
The cylindrical housing then advantageously comprises a larger diameter section on the side of the back of the base, an annular lock being inserted along this section, between the base and the pin, so as to maintain the rod or its components in place.
The spindle can extend beyond the back of the base, in a corresponding diameter cavity in the body of the load, which improves its centering and holding.
Another object of the invention is a lifting ring body as described above, which comprises a loop, a smooth cylindrical pin, a peripheral groove being formed near the free end of this pin, an expandable rod being inserted into said groove.
Advantageously, a clamping collar holds the compressed ring in place prior to insertion of the smooth pin into a suitable housing.
An advantage of the invention is that one can gain on the strength of the axis, because, for example, a smooth pin diameter 48 is stronger than an M 48 thread, especially at the junction with the ring . It is easy to increase the resistance passing from a diameter of ø 48 to a diameter of ø 56, the resistance being multiplied by ± 1.8, thus making it possible to offer a capacity of use in traction at 90 ° close that of axial traction. Generally the loss of efficiency at 90 ° is of the order of 40% compared to the axial traction, because of the weakness at the junction point on conventional rings both monobloc and articulated.
The cost of a smooth spindle ø 56 is lower than that of a threaded spindle ø 48, although of smaller diameter.
Another advantage is that the invention solves the problem of tightening (or forgetting clamping), because a ring clipped or locked can not be half. Moreover, the ability to connect the rod with the ring is reinforced.
The lifting ring according to the invention offers values guaranteed by the manufacturer, corresponding to the spirit of standardization sought in particular by major contractors in the plastic industry, but also in other industries.

An
The respective positions of the groove and the groove are calculated to provide the bearing face 20 of the

When the diameter of the pin is small, the

This embodiment is made possible by the high resistance conferred by the smooth spindle and the gain in axial extension, due to the absence of any mechanism for pivoting the loop, the body of the
Despite the significant torque created by the offset of the ring, the whole remains high strength.
