A concealed hinge (2, 22) for connecting a door or window leaf (1, 20) to a frame made from a box profile, comprising a curved hinge member (7, 27) which is of a hook-shaped configuration and has a part-circular region and a holder (8, 28) which is provided within the cross-sectional profile of the leaf (4, 24) or the frame (5, 25) and which has a mounting pin (10, 30) fixing the curved hinge member within the holder, in such a way that the axis of rotation of the curved hinge member extends within the profile and parallel to the longitudinal direction thereof, wherein the holder (8, 28) has a system which can be inserted from the rabbet side of the profile into a flap opening (5.1, 25.1) provided in the rabbet side and which can be at least partially fixed to the profile rabbet and which comprises two flap lugs (9, 29) which are connected together by the mounting pin (10, 30) for the curved hinge member (7, 27) and which extend in mutually parallel relationship, and a face plate (13, 32) through which the curved hinge member passes and the face plate on the one hand interconnects the rabbet-side ends of the flap lugs extending in the interior of the respective profile and on the other hand closes the opening cross-section of the flap opening (5.1, 25.1) except for an opening cross-section integrally adapted to the substantially constant through-passage cross-section of the part-circular region of the curved hinge member, characterised in that the pair of flap lugs (9, 29) and the face plate (13, 32) form constituent parts of a building block system in which there are provided pairs of flap lugs, face plate and curved hinge member having different peripheral dimensions, in particular a width dimension, but with the same connecting and fixing means arranged in a central region in the form of bores (9.3, 9.5, 9.6, 29.1, 29.2, 32.2, 32.3), recesses (13.1, 32.1) and/or through openings, for mounting a holder system (8, 28) adapted to the measurements of a given leaf or frame profile.
  2. A concealed hinge according to claim 1 characterised in that the holder system (8, 28) extends within the flap opening substantially from wall to wall over the entire width of the leaf or frame profile.
  3. A concealed hinge according to claim 1 or claim 2 characterised in that the flap lugs (9) of the holder (8) are of a substantially angle-shaped configuration and can be fixed with an angle limb (9.1) to an inwardly disposed stiffening wall of the profile, the stiffening wall being accessible in the flap opening (5.1), and the flap lugs carry the face plate (13) at the other angle limb (9.2).

A concealed hinge according to claim 1 or claim 2 characterised in that the flap lugs of the holder (28) are in the form of flat parallelepipeds (29) connected at the end to the face plate (32) and the face plate can be fixed to a rabbet-side profile wall delimiting the aperture of the opening (25.1).
  5. A concealed hinge according to one of the preceding claims characterised in that the flap lugs (9, 29) are arranged in substantially mirror-symmetrical relationship with each other.
  6. A concealed hinge according to one of the preceding claims characterised in that the flap lugs and the face plate form an integral holder.
  7. A concealed hinge according to one of the preceding claims characterised in that respective screw connections are provided for fixing the flap lugs (9, 29) to the face plate (13, 32) and for fixing the holder system (8, 28) to the profile wall (5.2, 25.2).
  8. A concealed hinge according to claim 3 characterised in that the holder (8) for delimiting the angle of opening of the door or the window has an abutment (16) arranged within a region embraced by the hook of the curved hinge member (7).
  9. A concealed hinge according to claim 8 characterised in that the abutment (16) connects the flap lugs (9) of the holder system (8) and has a longitudinal axis extending parallel to the axis of the mounting pin (10).
  10. A concealed hinge according to claim 8 or claim 9 characterised in that the abutment is in the form of a right prism (16) having a substantially trapezoidal cross-sectional area.
  11. A concealed hinge according to one of the preceding claims characterised in that the curved hinge member (7, 27) is made from a flat material or is in the form of a casting and is of a substantially rectangular cross-section.
  12. A concealed hinge according to claim 11 characterised in that the flat material comprises preferably five strips (7.6, 27.6) which extend in mutually parallel relationship at the wide side and which are connected together at their narrow sides, preferably by welding.
  13. A concealed hinge according to claim 11 or claim 12 characterised in that the curved hinge member (7, 27) is adapted to be variable in shape in its base region (27.1) for the purposes of attaining an angle of opening of 180° of a door.
  14. A concealed hinge according to one of the preceding claims characterised by a preferably metallic housing (11, 31) which encloses the holder system disposed within the frame or edge profile (5, 25).
  15. A concealed hinge according to one of the preceding claims characterised in that provided in the holder (28) are abutment means (29.4, 39) which delimit the pivotal movement of the inwardly opening door (20).
  16. A concealed hinge according to claim 15 characterised in that the curved hinge member (27) has a pin (39) which passes therethrough and whose projecting ends of substantially equal length respectively engage into a circular guide groove (29.4) provided in the flap lugs (29).
