Claims (12)

  1. Dispensing machine for paper or similar material capable of being dispensed in folded form so that it can be used for wiping, packing or protection characterised in that it comprises:
    a housing (1) designed with sidewalls (1c) capable of accommodating means of supporting the core (3) of a reel of material (B), the lower part of said housing being designed with a base (1a) comprising parallel end shields (1f) which accommodate means making it possible to articulate and position a cover (5) and additional means intended to articulate a device (8) for folding the strip of material and means which cooperate with a retractable flap (11);
    said device (8) for folding making it possible to change the strip of paper from an unfolded position to a folded position as it emerges from the front of the machine;
    and in that retractable flap (11) protects the strip of paper when it is not in use, then, when the flap is lifted and temporarily retracts, said strip of paper can be gripped and removed, said flap then being lowered into a position in which it is locked relative to the cover so that the pulled strip of paper can be cleanly cut in a folded position and over a predefined, variable length as required.
  2. Machine as claimed in claim 1 characterised in that the housing (1) comprises a base (1a), a back (1b) and two sidewalls (1c); said sidewalls have tabs (1d) in their extension with a separating slot (1e) over part of their length which makes said tabs resilient; they are designed to accommodate end pieces which hold the core of the reel of material.
  3. Machine as claimed in either claim 1 or 2 characterised in that the bottom (1a) of the housing has parallel end shields (1f) which protrude; said end shields have a protruding finger (1g) making it possible to articulate the cover (5), a hole (lh) to accommodate and articulate the device for folding and a protruding finger (1m) which cooperates with a matching lateral shape of the flap (11).
  4. Machine as claimed in claim 3 characterised in that the base (5a) of the cover (5) is designed with walls (5b) to position it on the housing and comprises parallel spaced flanges (6) arranged vertically on the face of the cover, said flanges helping to format the strip of paper in a folded configuration.
  5. Machine as claimed in claim 4 characterised in that the front face of the cover has an externally protruding waist (5e) including the flanges (6).
  6. Machine as claimed in any of claims 1 to 5 characterised in that the device used to fold the paper comprises a base (8a) which fits in position on end shields (1f) of the housing, said base having a shaped configuration (8c) making it possible to guide and format the folding of the paper and in that base (8a) extends as an arm (8d) the free end of which is designed with a fork joint shape (8e) which accommodates rotatably mounted rollers (9).
  7. Machine as claimed in claim 6 characterised in that the base (8a) of the device is designed with a finger (8f) forming an end stop against the bottom of the housing and restricting the swivelling of said arm.
  8. Machine as claimed in any of claims 1 to 6 characterised in that the retractable flap (11) comprises a front plate (11a) having a shape which forms a cutting and parting area and, laterally, two shaped wings (11b) designed with means of connection and articulation adjustment relative to the housing, the lower end of said wings (11b) being designed with a shaped tab (11d) capable of elastic deformation and pressed against a fixed part of the housing.
  9. Machine as claimed in claim 8 characterised in that, laterally, the flap has two shaped wings (11b) having an oblong slot (11c) which cooperates with a protruding finger (1g) formed on the end shield of the housing and in that the tabs (11d) have an S-shaped configuration capable of elastic deformation due to a separating slit (11e) made in the lower external part of said wings, said tabs pressing against protuberances (1m) on end shields (1f) of the housing.
  10. Machine as claimed in either of claims 8 or 9 characterised in that the lateral wings of the flap are designed so that their upper part has a sharp bend (11f) forming a tip which cooperates, during certain operating phases, with a horizontal edge (5d) along the front face of the cover.
  11. Machine as claimed in claims 8 and 9 characterised in that the flap (11) has a recess (12) for positioning and pushing by the user in order to release it from the cover and in opposition to the housing by combining special-purpose shapes of tabs (11e) and means of support and centring provided on the end shields (1f) of the housing.
  12. Machine as claimed in any of claims 8, 9 and 11 characterised in that the lower edge (5f) of the front wall of the cover constitutes an end stop for the flap thereby allowing clean cutting of the folded strip of paper when the paper returns in front of the machine in an essentially horizontal position.
