Definitions
- the present invention proposes to develop a seat of the type defined above, allowing an evolution of the comfort over time, i.e. the time of use of the seat, by changing the shape of the back cushion and of the headrest to allow the user to take a. more and more inclined position without increasing space and remaining simple to use.
- the invention relates to a seat of the type defined above according to the features of claim 1.
- the seat according to the invention whose transformation does not produce any modification of dimensions and especially no increased seat space allows the user to be seated in a comfortable position but with the back supported in a relatively upright position. Then, as the residence time progresses, the user can change the back support surfaces to support not only the back but also the neck, and this by the simple extraction of the neck cushion from its housing and placement above the back cushion. This displacement allows, on the one hand, to the upper area of the back cushion of back off and lean practically against the back of the seat and, on the other hand, this allows the neck cushion to come to the active neckrest position.
- the reverse movement is just as simple. he just spread the back cushion at the top and lower the neck cushion into its housing. At this time, the neck cushion is a support for the upper area of the front part of the back cushion which does not leans more directly against the file but by through the neck cushion.
- the part back of back cushion deforms only moderately because according to the invention this rear part of the back cushion has a more resistant and less flexible structure than the part front of the back cushion, the one directly in contact with the back of the user.
- This progressive tilting movement of the bust of the user and the coming in support of his neck against the neck cushion can be accompanied by a slight movement forward from the bottom of the trunk, moving slightly on the seat.
- the seat remains of use simple and easy; it never increases in size, which allows it to be integrated into furniture or an installation existing, without the need to provide additional clearances or locations allowing seat transformation as is the case for seats known transformables.
- the change of position at the interior of the seat does not modify the support polygon nor any particular fixing to the ground as this is the case for certain transformable armchairs such as armchairs hairdressers, dentists or car seats.
- the neck cushion is provided with a flexible link connecting to the back of the back cushion.
- This link retains the neck cushion to the part back of the back cushion and does not allow it to extend beyond from its normal neck cushion position, out of the housing delimited between the backrest and the front part of the cushion back.
- the cushion neck is extended at its base by a flexible guide rod which slides between the backrest and the rear part of the back cushion when the neck cushion is folded in the housing or comes between the backrest and the front part of the back cushion, in its upper part, to be stuck by the back cushion against the backrest when the cushion neck is in use position.
- the guide rod (s) which are connected to the neck cushion promote effective cushion maintenance nape of the neck since this or these rods are trapped by the edge upper of the back cushion against the seat back.
- These guide members at the same time forming a link, are advantageously slipped into the gap formed for this purpose between the seat back and the rear part of the back cushion.
- the back cushion consists of a rear part already mentioned, having a density relatively large, i.e. consistency very little flexible and little deformable.
- the part front of the back cushion has the softness of a usual cushion, soft which can be chosen by the user.
- the invention is of particular interest for sofas because it allows a transformation or a specific adaptation to each place on the sofa.
- place can be materialized by a seat cushion and a back cushion separated from the seat and back cushions of the adjacent place. It can also be a cushion unique seat as well as a unique back cushion but with preferably neck cushions associated with each seat on the sofa, so that two or three users can to settle differently and independently.
- the two parts of the back cushion can be secured. These two parts can also be made up by separate pieces, one free from the other.
- the invention relates to a user-adjustable armchair or sofa type seat and whose overall structure remains preserved in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the drawing.
- the seat consists a seat 1 carried by feet 2 and provided with a backrest 3.
- This seat 1 is produced in the usual way, with a support surface, elastic or flexible, provided in part before a reinforced zone 11 of flexibility or elasticity scaled down.
- the seat 1 is for example constituted in such a way known and not described by elastic, mechanical elements, or more or less flexible padding.
- Seat 1 is covered with a felt and a covering for the visible parts.
- a seat cushion is placed 12, also provided with the chosen covering, for example under the non-removable cover or covering.
- the seat is provided with a back cushion 4 formed of a rear part, of reduced flexibility, and for example parallelepiped shape with trapezoidal or rectangular section.
- a back cushion 4 formed of a rear part, of reduced flexibility, and for example parallelepiped shape with trapezoidal or rectangular section.
- front of this part rear 41 is the front part 42 of the back cushion.
- the rear part 41 occupies only one part of the height of the backrest 3, sparing above from it a housing 43, the front part 42, of triangular section, elongated rectangular or trapezoidal, occupies all the back support height or back height.
- This front part 42 defines, with the backrest 3 and the rear part 41, the housing 43 receiving a cushion of neck 5.
- This neck cushion 5 is connected by a link 6 to the rear part 41 of the back cushion.
- the front part 42 of the back cushion has a more greater flexibility than the rear part 41.
- the flexibility is chosen by the user. It is the same with the dressing.
- This front part 42 is supported on the neck cushion 5 in the position of the neck cushion shown in the figure 1 and holds it in the position of use, by pressing it against backrest 3 (figure 2).
- the neck cushion 5 has a volume compatible with the housing 43 thus defined.
- the link 6 is flexible. Its length is such that the cushion neck 5 can only be removed from its housing 43 sufficient distance to come in headrest position (figure 2). At this time, the link 6 is tight. This link is itself pinched between the upper end of the cushion 42 and file 3.
- FIGS 3 and 4 show, in drawings analogous to those described above, a seat variant according to the invention ..
- this variant we will use the same references only in the first variant to designate the same elements. The differences will be explained only with numerical references supplemented by the suffix A.
- the rear part 41A of the back cushion has a slightly different shape; it is no longer trapezoidal like that of FIG. 1.
- the neck cushion 5A is provided with a rod-shaped 6A link or of lamella whose lower end 61A slides into the interval between the backrest 3 and the rear part 41A.
- the upper part 62A is connected to the cushion 5A.
- the neck cushion 5A is retained by the lower part 61A by the link 6A wedged between the upper end 421 of the front part 42 of the cushion back and backrest 3.
- the present invention applies to seats for a place such as armchairs or multiple seats places like couches.
- a place such as armchairs or multiple seats places like couches.
- the neck cushion can be subdivided into several associated parts each one in a place. We can also not predict only one neck cushion for the entire length of the sofa.
- both sides can consist of a single one whose density or hardness is different between the surface in contact with the back and that serving as support at the rear.
- the cushion linings can also be constituted by the assembly such than gluing or welding pieces of consistency foam different depending on location.
