Fitting (1) for a sliding opening panel for a door, window or the like, said fitting comprising a long casing (2) designed to be inserted in a long aperture made in the inside wall of the opening panel, an outer plate (3) forming an integral part of the casing (2) and being designed to cover the long aperture, and a bolt-carrier (4) designed to slide in longitudinal direction (5) inside the casing (2), the bolt-carrier (4) having at least one threaded hole (6), its axis being perpendicular to the outer plate (3), which is designed to receive a screw (8) for securing a bolt (31) on the bolt-carrier (4), characterized in that the outer plate (3) has an opening (9) for access to the screw (8) and to the threaded hole (6), said opening (9) being located in the axis (7) of the threaded hole (6) when the bolt-carrier (4) is in its locked position, and in that the fitting (1) has a plug (10, 27) designed to seal said opening (9), means allowing the plug (10, 27) to enter the interior of the casing (2) to allow access to the screw (8), and means for restoring the plug (10, 27) to its normal position in which it seals the opening (9).
  2. Fitting according to Claim 1, characterized in that, on its face (11) adjacent to the outer plate (3), the bolt-carrier (4) has a recess (12) which extends in longitudinal direction (5) of the casing (2) opposite the opening (9) and is designed to receive the plug (10, 27) in the unlocked position as well as in the locked position of the bolt-carrier (4).
  3. Fitting according to Claim 2, characterized in that, on its face (13) turned towards the bottom (14) of the recess (12), the plug (10, 27) has spring-forming means (16, 22, 28) designed to rest on the bottom (14) of said recess (12) so as constantly to urge the plug (10, 27) in the direction (15) towards its normal position in which it seals the opening (9).

Fitting according to Claim 4, characterized in that, on the bottom (14) of the recess (12), the bolt-carrier (4) has two elements (20, 21) which project towards the outer plate (3) and are located so that, in the unlocked position of the bolt-carrier (4), these two projecting elements (20, 21) are placed in longitudinal direction (15) of the bolt-carrier (4) on either side of the plug (10, 27).
  6. Fitting according to Claim 5, characterized in that the spring-forming means (16, 22, 28) and the projecting elements (20, 21) are adjusted so that, in the normal position of the plug (10, 27) in place in the opening (9), the spring-forming means (16, 22, 28) do not obstruct the passage of at least one of the projecting elements (20, 21) during sliding of the bolt-carrier (4), whereas in the compressed position of the spring-forming means (16, 22, 28) the projecting elements (20, 21) are designed to engage with the plug (10, 27) to move said plug (10, 27) in one direction or the other during sliding of the bolt-carrier (4).
  7. Fitting according to Claim 6, characterized in that the projecting elements (20, 21) extend in the direction (15) towards the outer plate (3) over a height which is at most equal to the height to which said spring-forming elements (16, 22, 28) can be compressed.
  8. Fitting according to Claim 7, characterized in that the spring-forming means (22, 28) are tabs which are separated from one another in transverse direction (23) of the casing (2).
  9. Fitting according to one of Claims 6 to 8, characterized in that the plug (10, 27) has means (22, 28) designed to rest on the longitudinal side walls (25, 26) of the casing (2) so as to hold the spring-forming means (16, 22, 28) in a position which does not obstruct the passage of the projecting elements (20, 21).
  10. Fitting according to Claim 8 or 9, characterized in that the tabs (22, 28) are designed to rest substantially on the longitudinal side walls (25, 26) of the casing (2) in the compressed position of the plug (10, 27).
