Claims (10)

  1. Rail web recess filling element for rails (1) having a top flange (2) and a connecting web (59 defining an outer recess (7) and an inner recess (8),
    comprising the following features:
    the rail web recess filling element (10, 20) is made up of rubber elastic material;
    the rail web recess filling element (10, 20) has a predetermined length, an upper side (11, 21), a lower side (12, 22), an engaging side (13, 23) and a street contacting side (14, 24);
    recesses for fixing means useful for fixing the rail (1) are provided in the rail web recess filling element (10, 20);
    a continuous slot (15, 25) dividing the engaging side into two ribs or walls (16, 17; 26, 27) extends along the engaging side (13, 23);
    characterised by the following features:
    the rubber elastic material is essentially recycling material bound by polyurethane matter;
    the outlines of the rail web recess filling element (10, 20) generally is rectangular-wedge shaped and fits at its lower side (12, 22), at its engaging side (13,23) and in portions of its upper side (11, 21) to the outlines of the rail between upper flange (2) and lower flange (6);
    the cross section area of the rail web recess filling element (10, 20) exceeds the cross sectional area of the web recess (15, 25) which the filling element is provided for by a small oversize which is placed such as to bias the ribs or walls (16, 17; 26, 27) elastically against one another when being mounted and clamped into it's respective rail web recess (7, 8), the ribs or walls (16, 17; 26, 27) come into complete engagement with the outer recess (7) or the inner recess (8) of the rail (1).
  2. Rail web recess filling element according to claim 1, wherein the oversize is a wedge shaped stripe (8, 28) along the lower side (12, 22) of the filling element.
  3. Rail web recess filling element according to claim 2 wherein the wedge shaped stripe (18, 28) has a thickness of between 1 and 3 millimeters.
  4. Rail web recess filling element according to one of the claims 1-3, wherein the slot (15) is wide enough to encompass screw heads for fixing of track rods.
  5. A method for mounting rail web recess filling elements with rails,
    characterised by the steps of:
    a) providing rail web recess filling elements (10, 20) according to one of the claims 1-3;
    b) inserting the rail web recess filling elements (10, 20) in the web recesses (7, 8) so as to adjoin one another;
    c) bringing a pressing clamp (30) near to the inserted rail web recess filling element (10, 20) by traveling same on the upper rail flange (2);
    d) moving the rail web recess filling elements (10, 20) completely into the recesses (7, 8) by operation of the pressing clamp (30);
    e) releasing the pressing clamp (30) and moving same by a length along the rail (1) so as to reach a region of the rail web recess filling elements which have not yet been completely inserted into the recesses (7, 8);
    f) repeating the steps d) and e) until all rail web recess filling elements are mounted.
  6. The method of claim 5 wherein in step a) an adhesive is applied at the mounting side and/or in the web recesses (7, 8) .
  7. The method of claim 6 wherein in step d) the rail web recess filling elements (10, 20) are retained under pressure for some seconds.
  8. The method of claim 5 wherein the rail web recess filling elements (10, 20) are retained temporarily by clamping in the respective web recesses (7, 8) and permanently by the street body.
  9. The method of one of the claims 5-8 wherein step d) is repeated if after releasing the pressing clamp (30) the filling element or elements is or are slipped out of its web recess.
  10. A devise for carrying out the method of one of the claims 5-9 comprising:
    a pressing clamp (30) including
    a holder (33), a compressed air cylinder (31) having a piston (32), a housing and a pair of opposing pressing jaws (35, 36), one end of the holder (33) being connected to the housing of the compressed air cylinder and the other end being provided with one of the pressing jaws (36) whereas the other press jaw (35) being connected to the piston (32);
    a holding arm for maneuvering the pressing clamp (30) which can be pivoted, lifted and lowered, and
    control means for operating the pressing clamp and for maneuvering the holding arm.
