Definitions

  • the invention is based on a method for automatic Collection of road user fees according to the preamble of claim 1 and a device to perform this procedure in accordance with Preamble of claim 10.
  • Beacon-supported systems expose themselves vehicle-side devices and street-side mounted Beacons together.
  • the on-board device contains an electronic means of payment with which the road user fee is paid, one Microwave transponder for communication with the Beacons and a data memory with parameters, which affect the fee payable.
  • the Beacon contains the tariff structure, that is, it determines based on the data reported by the vehicle and based on the specifications of the operator paying fee.
  • the first step is data transmitted from the on-board device to the beacon and in a second step divides the beacon the device the fee to be paid.
  • the device transmits a payment guarantee to the beacon.
  • the fee collection process is therefore through the Passage of the beacon triggered by the vehicle. Due to the location of the beacon, a position in the Street network defines on which the payment process has to be done.
  • the disadvantage of this beacon-based Systems is in large numbers, however of beacons to be installed that are for a differentiated and comprehensive survey of Road usage fees is necessary.
  • the autonomous systems do not use beacons. Instead of of which the vehicle devices have satellite navigation systems (for example GPS, Global Positioning System) so that the vehicle is in its position can determine the surface of the earth autonomously. Since none Beacons are provided to contain the vehicle equipment a digital map and information about corresponding paying agents on this card and the entire tariff structure. Provides the vehicle device determined that it is at a paying agent, so is based on the data in the memory paying fee determined on the also in Device accessing existing electronic means of payment and make a payment. The difference the operator has immediate access to the beacon-based system No payment guarantee after the payment process available. This payment guarantee can for example by means of possibly uneconomical Mobile communications are transmitted.
  • satellite navigation systems for example GPS, Global Positioning System
  • U.S. Patent 5,490,079 shows a system for the automatic detection of Road user fees, in which a device arranged in the vehicle based on its Position signal recognizes the reaching of a toll road, an external receiver sends a signal regarding the vehicle identification, this external receiver sends this and others Data is saved and the device in the vehicle is used to carry out the transaction Information transmitted. Measures for the transmission of the vehicle position are shown.
  • DE 44 27 392 A describes a method and a device for automatic determination and Collection of road user fees, in which the position signal of the vehicle one stationary computer, which is connected to the vehicle's location system, is sent.
  • On-board computers will store the toll routes in stored data maintained.
  • the computer recognizes the driving on toll routes and picks up Connection with a central office before charging. This requires information in the vehicle regarding the toll route are available and updated.
  • the method according to the invention in the main claim 1 mentioned features combines the advantages beacon-based systems with the advantages of autonomous Systems. It is particularly advantageous that the tariff structure permanently under the control of the operator because it is not in the individual vehicles, but, like the beacon-based system, is stored in the beacons. Because the beacons are more advantageous Way a connection to central computer systems have a uniformity of Tariffs and thus equal treatment for all drivers guaranteed. It is also possible to change the tariff structure quickly and the changing framework change accordingly without depending on the individual Having to resort to vehicles. Another significant advantage of the method according to the invention is that it is due to the invention enabled immediate handover of the Payment guarantees to the beacon and thus the operator it is not possible to withdraw from the payment or to subsequently produce authentic receipts.
  • the method according to the invention has a high level of reliability and security. Because of the satellite-based permanent position determination and storage also the past a vehicle motion profile can be detected can, uses the inventive method in particularly advantageously only comparatively few beacons that are not used to determine the position, but only the determination and collection of fees serve. You can rely on the use of so-called Entry stations, that is, stations for whom a chargeable journey begins, entirely can be dispensed with, since the respective according to the invention used payment beacons tariff structure and digital cards included, so that, along with the position data stored on the vehicle, also a past fee is possible.
  • vehicle-side devices according to the invention with the features mentioned in claim 10 have in addition to the above mentioned in particular the advantage of being relatively inexpensive can be because there is memory for recording the road network and the tariff structures as well as a higher one Computing power capacity is eliminated. Build accordingly the devices according to the invention also smaller and are easier.
  • FIG. 1 shows one in a not shown here Vehicle arranged device 1, a roadside beacon 2 and a satellite 3.
  • the device 1 contains a microwave transponder 4 of a connection 5 with a electronic means of payment 6, in particular one Smart card, is connected.
  • the device 1 contains also a satellite navigation module 7, in particular a global positioning system, GPS.
  • the device 1 has a data memory 8 on the connections 5, 9, 10 and 11 with connected to the other components of the device 1 is.
  • the signal S emitted by the satellite 3 is picked up by the satellite navigation module 7.
  • the microwave transponder 4 transmits one Tariff-relevant parameters and existing position data Data flow D1 to the beacon 2, which follows upon receipt of which the amount of the paying fee D2 to the microwave transponder 4 reports.
  • the microwave transponder transmits after payment 4 a payment guarantee Z an the beacon 2. Submitted after checking the payment guarantee the beacon 2 sends a receipt Q to the chip card.
  • FIG. 2 explains the mode of operation in detail the device of Figure 1.
  • the vehicle equipped with a device 1 constantly determines with the help of its satellite navigation module 7 and that received from satellite 3 Signal S its position (position determination, 101). With the signal S also the time transmitted so that in step 101 position determination to be defined Points in time.
  • the current time together with the respective position of the device 1 are stored in the data memory 8 (method step 102). If the vehicle now passes one Beacon 2 will be the last saved position by means of the Microwave transponders 4 as data flow D1 to the Transfer beacon 2.
  • the data storage 8 contains in addition the position and time data also other tariff-relevant Parameters such as vehicle class, Emissions or other vehicle or driver-related data that together with the position data in data flow D1 are also transmitted to beacon 2 (process step 103).
  • Beacon 2 contains the tariff structure as well as a digital map network and is therefore able from the data D1 to to determine the paying fee.
  • the amount of to Paying fee is from Beacon 2 through a Data flow D2 communicated to the microwave transponder 4 (Step 104).
  • steps 103 and 104 can be more advantageous Mutual authentication are provided the communication partner, so that by stating that the particular Partners also to participate in the fee collection is entitled or obliged to Maximum security is guaranteed.
  • the too Paying fee is by means of electronic Payment means 6 paid in the vehicle, that is debited from the chip card (process step 105).
  • the microwave transponder transmits 4 the beacon 2 a payment guarantee Z (Step 106), which the operator can submit a clearing house to the Ultimately get fee. Is the payment guarantee Z okay, beacon 2 sends an acknowledgment Q to the transponder 4, for storage in the Chip card 6. (step 107).
  • the storage in method step 101 the position data can be done in two ways. So can save the position data in periodic Intervals are made, the frequency of Storage by signals sent by number beacons 2 can be changed.
  • Particularly preferred Embodiment stores device 1 only certain positions. A list of these particular ones Positions is accordingly from the beacon 2 to this Beacon 2 passing vehicle and thus the device 1 passed.
  • the vehicle has another beacon, the saved one Note from the microwave transponder 4 in the data flow Transfer D1 to beacon 2.
  • the beacon 2 can now based on the tariff structure saved in it and the digital road map a calculation make the fee payable and request the device 1 for payment.
