Description

OBJET DE L'INVENTIONOBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a foundry part bi-metallic serving as a wearing part in grinders, in particularly so-called vertical shredders. It applies also to a method of producing such a part and to its use in grinders of this type.

Arrière plan technologique de l'inventionTechnological background of the invention

Vertical shredders have rollers turning on a grinding track with vertical axis The grinding rollers are mounted on a central hub and are provided at their periphery with wearing parts which can be in the form of segments or which can be also made in one piece.

These wear parts are made of cast iron with high resistance to abrasion, especially high chromium content and therefore are very little ductile (their elongation at break is practically zero). The wearing parts are generally joined by means of clamps to the hub. precisely from their lack of ductility, we can observe under the constraints due to various stresses mechanical, in particular the appearance of cracks which propagate in said rooms. Various other disadvantages manifest themselves which, under the effect of constraints, in particular a deformation of the hub. This deformation of the hub causes considerable difficulties when replacing parts wear and it is common to have to replace both the wear part and the hub.

In addition, the wearing part is particularly difficult to be machined after casting because of its specific properties, namely its high hardness, while tolerances less than H9 are required for this machining.

Document GB-2 078 575 A describes parts of weldable wear consisting of a weldable steel part provided with protuberances which, after being placed in a mold is subjected to a metallurgical-mechanical bond obtained by casting a cast iron. These parts are described as may be suitable for various uses such as parts machine and tools. We propose to use for the part wear and tear low spheroidal graphitic cast iron wear resistance and low weldability in which a hard metal is incorporated.

The combined metallurgical-mechanical connection is described as a means of compensating for the tensions resulting from differences in coefficient of expansion between the alloy of base (graphite cast iron) and reinforcement material incorporated in the wear part, thus ensuring a good connection between this wear part and the part weldable and avoiding the propagation of micro-cracks.

Document AU-B-44415/89 (617891) describes a core with mechanical connection element in the form inserts, joined together by pouring an envelope in white cast iron constituting a non-ductile wear material. These inserts are welded together however, after cooling of the white cast iron.

However, the Applicant has noticed that none of these solutions is not entirely satisfactory on the one hand because limit the use of very harsh compositions for the wear part since it is necessary to ensure this connection metallurgical-mechanical and secondly because such link does not sufficiently prevent the spread of cracks and micro-cracks. This phenomenon is particularly observed in the case of large shredders vertical described above.

Buts visés par l'inventionGoals of the invention

The invention essentially aims to propose a new design of wear parts for grinders of the type mentioned which provides a series of specific benefits, in particularly better resistance to cracking, absence of deformation of the hub under stresses applied and generally more flexibility in the system for attaching wear parts to the hub. We also aim to achieve significant savings in level of manufacturing price and lifespan of rooms.

Other objects and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the specification and the claims.

Eléments caractéristiques de l'inventionCharacter-defining elements of the invention

L'invention concerne une pièce de fonderie bimétallique selon la revendication 1.The invention relates to a bimetallic foundry part according to claim 1.

This type of part can be in the form of segments or as a single piece, for their mounting on the hub of the vertical grinder rollers.

In the case of mounting segments, this can be achieve by clamping or bolting on the hub; in the case monobloc elements, assembly takes place by shrinking, without need to weld these elements on the hub in none of the case.

In either case, the risks of cracking are greatly reduced even under conditions significant constraints since the attachment area of the bolts or clamps securing to the hub is located in the part of the ductile iron core.

The fact that the connecting part, which is the most highly stressed, either made up of studs coming casting in the ductile iron core, contributes to the mechanical resistance of the assembly.

The efforts generated by the grinding work - instead to be transmitted directly from the wear part to the hub - are here taken up first by the studs and then by the core made of ductile iron. cracks or cracks that may appear on the outer periphery of the wear part does not spread in the total mass of the wear part. Moreover, the deformations observed in the wear part technique hard mono-metallic on a soft hub are avoided. Finally, the installation surface of the wearing part which must be machined to fit the hub perfectly constituted in this case by ductile iron which significantly facilitates machining.

In general, we observe an economy general by reducing the machining price, the use of a lighter part, the economy of alloying elements and a great flexibility of use allowing to fix the bimetallic wear part both by clamming and by bolting, or in the case of a monobloc element, by hooping.

La fonte ductile utilisée est de préférence une fonte du type GS (GGG 40 suivant la norme DIN 1693).The ductile iron used is preferably a cast iron from type GS (GGG 40 according to DIN 1693).

Likewise, we have greater freedom of execution specific forms not only because they are more easy to machine but also because the parts according to this particular design are less used mechanically and that in their design there is no longer place to take into account to the same extent the efforts important transmitted. This therefore makes it possible to adapt the shape specific wear parts to the different types of construction of vertical roller mill.

The step which is generally provided at the foot of the wear part for its connection to the hub can be adapted to the requirements of each manufacturer.

The specific shape of the studs is preferably chosen so as to provide simplified form nets rounded.

The parts according to the invention also make it possible to facilitate the weighting of the part in chromium cast iron and to obtain better mechanical properties thanks to the cooling effect of the ductile iron part. he should be noted that the bimetallic coins as well thus avoid the need for a bonding solution metallurgical. This avoids the well known drawback a horizontal separation surface between the two metals sunk.

In addition, the absence of metallurgical bond prevents the propagation of cracking appearing in the room peripheral wear in the nucleus.

The use of a rounded shape for fillets studs avoids the initiation of cracks and therefore contributes to a extended service life of parts.

According to a specific embodiment of the invention, the studs can affect the shape of a dovetail.

The process for manufacturing such a part is particularly interesting due to the choice of materials implemented which allows the core to be cast first with the studs in a first mold and then, after having applied a refractory coating to prevent bonding metallurgical, to sink the envelope. We finally proceed to a quenching heat treatment taking into account the nature of the components of the room and possibly the intended use, in particular the grinder and materials to be ground, according to the criteria well known to specialists in these materials.

The invention will be described in more detail with reference to a preferred embodiment thereof, with regard to attached drawings.

Other details and characteristic elements of the invention will appear on reading the description which follows.

In known manner, a roller 3 is driven relative to axis 1 by turning through a hub 2 shown schematically on an axis 5 which can be slightly inclined (as shown) or horizontal, in view to grind the material fed between the roller and the track grinding 6. The reference 7 represents the material to be ground fed centrally in the crusher. After grinding, the fine particles are extracted from the mill and the most large are returned to grinding track 6 by a air flow schematized by the arrow 9.

As will be noted, the roller 3 is rounded on its peripheral part and the track has a shape corresponding.

The essential characteristic of the invention is the the fact that the core 13 and connecting elements in the form of studs 15 from casting are formed from a material ductile, namely GS cast iron while the shell 17 is made in non-ductile alloys in particular chrome irons ≥ 64 Rc hardness used usually as wearing parts.

It should be noted that the offset of the envelope 17 with respect to the core 13 can be adapted to the different manufacturers' requirements in a simple way, especially since the peripheral junction line 21 between the envelope 17 and the core 13 is advantageously located in the internal angle of offset, which avoids exposure of this line to the direct action of the material to be ground.

We construct a constructive concept in this way particularly simple.

Almost half the mass of what made up previously a mono-metallic wear part fixed on a hub, is, according to the invention constituted by the core ductile, which results in a significant saving of elements expensive alloy.

It should be noted that if a shape has been described of the wearing part in the form of segments, it it is also possible to build a one-piece fret according to the inventive concept of the invention.

The process used to produce the part wear according to the invention is to sink first the core 13 with the studs 15; after applying a refractory coating on the core, place the part in a second mold and the envelope is poured 17. The assembly undergoes then a quenching heat treatment.

In order to illustrate the invention, a description will be given below. example of execution of a part according to the invention and the laboratory test results obtained.

The casting of Figures 4 and 5 is a block bimetal of 230x275x150mm formed by a part corresponding to core 13 and studs 15 in GS cast iron (GGG40) and by a casing part 11 in chromium cast iron with a hardness greater than or equal to 64 Rc.

After deburring, a refractory coating (not shown) is applied to this part to avoid reflow of studs and the risk of a metallurgical link with the chrome cast iron.

The bimetal block was then trimmed and quenched.

Fatigue tests were performed.

The tests are carried out in a SCHENK machine from maximum capacity of 2500 kN.

Le signal appliqué est sinusoidal. The applied signal is sinusoidal.

The assembly has been subjected to an oscillating compression load 100kN-2000kN generating maximum contact pressures 3 times greater than those experienced by a roller in service.

The assembly tested has not suffered any apparent degradation during 465,000 cycles.
