Apparatus for the production of packs (10), in particular cigarette packs, of which the pack content is wrapped in the region of a folding assembly into at least one blank of packaging material, having an endless conveyor (15) for supplying the packs (10) to a discharge conveyor (19) which conveys away the packs (10), individual, selected, completely or partially completed packs (10) being capable of being removed from the endless conveyor (15), by being lifted out of the conveying flow by an extraction conveyor, which is designed as a rotary-driven outward-transfer wheel (26), and of being supplied to a separate pack conveyor (45), characterized by the following features:
      a) the outward-transfer wheel (26) has, on the circumference, a plurality of receptacles (27) mounted at a distance from one another and intended for the controlled gripping of individual packs (10),
      b) the outward-transfer wheel (26) is rotatable in synchronism with the endless conveyor (15),
      c) to grip a pack (10), a receptacle (27) belonging to the outward-transfer wheel (26) and assigned to the pack (10) can be activated when it comes to bear on the pack (10).
    2. Apparatus according to Claim 1, characterized in that the outward-transfer wheel (26), which rotates about an axis parallel to the conveying plane of the endless conveyor (15), has a plurality of receptacles (27) arranged along the circumference at equal distances from one another and having suction members, namely suction heads (29), which, by suction, grip the pack (10) to be received, in the region of a pack face, in particular a large-area front wall (11).
    3. Apparatus according to Claim 2, characterized in that the suction heads (29) forming these consist completely or partially of elastic material, in particular rubber, and have at least one radially directed suction bore (30), the said suction bores opening out in the region of radially outer bearing faces (31) of the suction heads (29).
    4. Apparatus according to Claim 3, characterized in that a plurality of, in particular three suction heads (29) are arranged next to one another in the axial direction of the outward-transfer wheel (26) in the region of a radial bearing face (28) of the outward-transfer wheel (26).
    5. Apparatus according to Claim 2 or one of the other claims, characterized in that the outward-transfer heel (26) is driven at the same circumferential speed as the endless conveyor (15), the distances between the suction heads (29) on the circumference of the outward-transfer wheel (26) corresponding to the distances between the packs (10) which are determined by drivers (16) or the like on the endless conveyor (15).
    6. Apparatus according to Claim 2 or one of the other claims, characterized in that the suction heads (29) having suction bores (30) can be activated in at least two groups independently of one another for the purpose of gripping packs (10), preferably in such a way that the suction bores (30) of the suction heads (29) succeeding one another in the circumferential direction of the outward-transfer wheel (26) are assigned alternately to different vacuum sources and/or different shut-off valves for connection to the vacuum source.
    7. Apparatus according to Claim 6, characterized in that a plurality of fixed air ducts, in particular duct segments (32, 34) formed on a stationary supporting member (33) and in the form of an arc of a circle, which are connected to the vacuum source, are assigned to the various suction bores (30) in such a way that suction bores (30) succeeding one another in the direction of rotation are assigned alternately to one duct segment (32, 34) or the other.
    8. Apparatus according to Claim 1 or one of the other claims, characterized in that the packs (10) to be separated out can be gripped in the region of the conveying path, in the form of an arc of a circle, of the correspondingly running endless conveyor (15), on the radially outer upper side of the latter, by the outward-transfer wheel (26) rotating in a vertical plane above the endless conveyor (15), can be transported along a part circle and can be deposited on the pack conveyor (45) arranged in the same plane as the outward-transfer wheel (26) and endless conveyor (15).
    9. Apparatus according to Claim 3 or one of the other claims, characterized in that, for the release of packs (10) held on the outward-transfer wheel (26), in particular for depositing on a platform (42) of the pack conveyor (45), the suction bores (30) can be loaded with compressed air, in particular in such a way that the bearing faces (28) succeeding one another in the circumferential direction can be connected alternately to a compressed-air source via separately switchable shut-off valves.
    10. Apparatus according to Claim 1 or one of the other claims, characterized in that the pack conveyor (45) for transporting away the separated-out packs (10) is designed as a conveying duct with a closed cross-section, and in that the packs (10) can be conveyed within the duct-shaped pack conveyor (45) by an air stream, an entry region of the pack conveyor being designed as a platform (42) for depositing the packs (10).
    11. Apparatus according to Claim 10, characterized in that a plurality of air nozzles (46, 47) succeeding one another in the conveying direction are mounted on the pack conveyor (45), preferably in the region of an upper wall (48), the air nozzles (46, 47) conducting an air stream, pointing in the conveying direction, into the pack conveyor (45).
    12. Apparatus according to Claim 1 or one of the other claims, characterized in that a branch-off conveyor (51) for conveying away packs (10), in particular sample packs (25), into a separate conveyor adjoins the pack conveyor (45) in the region of a branch-off (53).
    13. Apparatus according to Claim 12, characterized in that there is formed in the region of the branch-off (53) for the branch-off conveyor (51), within the pack conveyor (45), a deflector (52), preferably with a pivotable guide element (54), for guiding the packs (10) either into the branch-off conveyor (51) or along the pack conveyor (45).
    14. Apparatus according to Claim 12 or 13, characterized in that the branch-off conveyor (51) branches off from the essentially rectilinear pack conveyor (45) in the upward direction, in such a way that the branch-off conveyor (51) runs in a plane above the pack conveyor (45).
    15. Apparatus according to Claim 1 or one of the other claims, characterized in that the pack conveyor (45) runs above the discharge conveyor (19), preferably with a laterally directed offset piece (59), in such a way that a free end of the pack conveyor (45) runs at a lateral offset relative to the discharge conveyor (19), as seen in the vertical direction.
