Definitions

  • the invention relates to an individually driven folder for a rotary printing press according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • FIG. 1 An example of a known drive is shown schematically in Fig. 1.
  • the coupling from the longitudinal shaft 1.10 to the Folding apparatus comprising a knife cylinder 2, a collecting cylinder 3 and a jaw cylinder 4, mechanically a longitudinal shaft gear box 1, different tooth levels 1.20, a shaft 1.23 on a coupled with a bevel gear 1.24 Intermediate gear 1.3 or alternatively with a bevel gear 1.24 coupled knife cylinder 2.
  • the cylinders 2, 3 and 4 are mechanically coupled with each other via spur gears.
  • Disadvantageous is that the cylinders 2, 3 and 4 to each other and compared to the longitudinal shaft 1.10 in the tooth play area can take any position. This is due to the Cylinder effective moments such as cornering controls, cutting stroke and the same. Irregularities that cannot be avoided are noticeable in the folding tolerances.
  • Examples for the drive of the folder by means of coupling to the longitudinal shaft of the printing press are from DE 41 27 321 A1, DE 26 14 665 A1 and US Pat. No. 5,405,127 known.
  • DE 41 27 321 shows that one on the longitudinal shaft coupled folder additionally one only him may have associated motor.
  • Folders, individually driven by a drive motor mechanically only with the folder are coupled from DE 20 46 131 A, EP 0 567 741 A1, GB 21 49 149 A, the subsequently published EP 0 699 524 A2 and further from the article "Rotationsmaschinenantrieb without longitudinal wave - a rediscovery of Hamada " in newspaper technology December 1991 pages 78-80 as well the article "Color Management Systems, Computer-to-plate and shaftless powered aft towers: highlights of the DRUPA 95? "By Boris Fuchs in German printer No. 14-15 / 13-4-95 Pages w46 ff known. From the latter Publication and also from EP 0 699 524 A2 Assignment of a separate motor for the folder and own, different motor for the rebate superstructure.
  • the invention has set itself the task of a folder to create, in which the register setting with simultaneous Prevention, at least reduction of the tooth play Gears in the drive train of the folder individually for the folder can be made.
  • a folder of a rotary printing press with at least one jaw cylinder and a knife cylinder has a drive motor for the individual drive of the folder on, which is mechanically coupled only to the folder is.
  • tooth play problems only have to be in the area of the folder be counteracted while the drive motor for the folder for driving the other components of the printing press is electrically synchronized.
  • the single drive allows the folder regardless of the position of the Rotate printing units to any folding position and thereby to move to the cutting register in a simple way. This This is particularly advantageous when feeding paper into a back-up folder useful because with such a back-up folder a zero position of the drive that serves as a reference Cutting register can be approached.
  • the folding tolerances are minimized.
  • the folder according to the invention allows for the mechanical coupling with the printing units that is no longer required the free arrangement of the folder to the printing units and advantageously also for a fold structure and a fold superstructure, without causing additional costs.
  • a drive motor drives via a mechanical coupling, preferably a motor-side one Pinion and a cylindrical spur gear, on the jaw cylinder.
  • a mechanical coupling preferably a motor-side one Pinion and a cylindrical spur gear
  • This enables high gear ratios to be achieved in one stage and can be realized in a space-saving manner.
  • By dropping out a longitudinal shaft gearbox and all drive components, like shafts and gears, including idler gear there is a cost reduction.
  • Because of its comparative large inertia and small operating moments is in this Design variant of the drive on a particularly quiet Coupled location of the folder.
  • the train on the collecting cylinder, the friction moments of the cylinder bearings, the pull roller drive and the cutting blow create a moment that the driving Engine counteracts.
  • It can also be attached to the jaw cylinder using a toothed belt to be driven.
  • Both folders can be placed at plant level, especially as a left and right folder design in a so-called back-to-back arrangement or as a double folder with a delivery on the same side of the machine.
  • the first option is particularly slim accordingly short transfer routes for the train.
  • the second Variant, i.e. the double folder offers the advantage that both deliveries are on one machine side and two identical folders can be used. Both types of installation enable operation on one level.
  • a first folder can also be placed at plant level while a second folder is added in the machine basement, i.e. at the role changer level. Hereby will have short rail crossings and unhindered access to the folder. If a fold structure and a Folded superstructure on the machine table, i.e. on the system level, are set up, there is a low overall height.
  • both folders can be set up in the basement be, and that as a double folder with separate and superstructure and superstructure stored on the machine table or as Double folder in a common superstructure and Superstructure. Both variants draw because of the arrangement in the machine cellar due to their low height above the machine level out. They are also arranged on one level, particularly easy to use.
  • the folder itself can be moved.
  • Will the fold structure and the superstructure is placed on a yoke, so a back-up folder, if such is provided, if necessary instead of the main folder.
  • no additional Space required in the system Will the machine table itself used as a yoke construction, and will be the Folders placed in the basement, this will also be achieved a low overall height.
  • the fold structure and the fold superstructure can be movably arranged on a yoke construction.
  • the invention can be used particularly advantageously with that in EP 0 644 048 A2 combine the drive and control concept disclosed.
  • a printing web B runs through a capping device 20, a pair of pulling rollers 21 arranged behind, via a Collection cylinder 3 with assigned knife cylinder 2, there cut crosswise and then from the collecting cylinder 3 to the Folding jaw cylinder 4 and from there to a delivery device serve serving paddle wheel 5.
  • the paddle wheel 5 can also be a means of transport that rotates endlessly between two rollers provided with grippers for the folded printed copies his.
  • the folding jaw cylinder 4 driven directly by a drive motor 10.
  • the mechanical coupling between the drive motor 10 and the The jaw cylinder 4 is driven by a pinion 10.1 and a cylinder-side spur gear 4.1 is formed.
  • a printing press is shown, which is an example for gaining flexibility in terms of installation options of the self-powered folder.
  • An exemplary embodiment is a folder F1 in the machine basement on the same level as reel changers R1, R2, R3 and R4 set up, while printing units D1, D2 and D3 on one above horizontal plant level 100 are aligned one behind the other.
  • a folder assembly 30 that opens one or more levels has at least one funnel, arranged and stored on the folder.
  • the rebate superstructures 30, 40 are between the two printing units D2 and D3 arranged so that the printing webs run in from two sides.
  • a second folder can be provided.
  • This second folder is preferred also in the machine cellar or at the plant level 100, preferably approximately in alignment with the lower fold superstructure 30 arranged.
  • the printing webs can optionally be fed to one of the folders become. In the example of Fig. 3, only that is in the engine room standing folder F1 in operation. If two Folders are provided, some of which are behind the Printing units further promoted different printing webs Funnel levels of the fold structure 30, as an example with dashed lines shown, are fed. From an upper funnel level the longitudinally folded printing webs then reach the second Folder, while in a lower hopper level 30th folded printing webs continue to the first folder F1 be promoted.
  • Fig. 4 shows the installation of the second folder mentioned F2 at plant level 100.
  • the first folder is again F1 at role changer level, on the same level as the not shown role changers placed while the second Laying out the F2 folder on one side of the machine next to the machine is arranged.
  • the folding structure 30 with one or more Hopper levels are stored on the machine table.
  • Both the storage and the drive of the folding structure 30 in the example according to FIG. 4 takes place mechanically independently of the Drive and storage of the folders.
  • Fig. 5 shows two side by side on one level - on the machine table or folders arranged at the roll changer level F1, F2. Only the first folder F1 is in operation, while the second folder serves as a back-up.
  • the feeding of the printing web or webs to the folder F1 takes place again via a fold structure taken up on a yoke J 30.
  • the yoke J is independent of the folders F1 and F2 stored, whereby an exchange of the first folder F1 against the back-up folder F2 is made possible.
  • the replacement of the folder is particularly easy F1 against the back-up folder F2 when the two folders can be moved (F1 ⁇ F1 'or F2 ⁇ F2').
  • the printing press has six printing units D1 to D6 on, of which three printing units each seen in the web conveying direction arranged one behind the other and two such rows of three next to each other are set up.
  • Left and right of the last one Printing unit D1 or D4 of the two rows of printing units are Folders F1, F2, F3 placed such that one of the folders, F2, between the last two printing units D1 and D4 is arranged so that printing webs from these two printing units the one in the middle, in this case common Folder F2 can be fed.
  • the two other folders F1 and F3 are to the free outer sides of each of the printing units D1 and D4 arranged.
  • each of the folders F1, F2, F3 is a assigned fold structure with formers or formers, while above the two next to the folders F1 and F3 standing last printing units D1 and D4 the required deflection rollers and turning bars for feeding the printing webs are arranged.
  • the display of the folded printed copies can be done uniformly in the machine longitudinal direction. she can but also what, in turn, the flexibility of the invention Solution demonstrated in the case of the two outer folders F1 and F3 to the sides.
