    the mating surface (2) is convex and curved lengthwise, and is covered with a layer of a resiliently deformable matter (9),
    the main body (1) is of a scant thickness, the upper surface thereof (3) remaining under or slightly above the plane (S) at all points passing through the two longitudinal ends (21, 22) of the mating surface (2).
  2. Tool according to Claim 1, characterized in that the length and the curve of the mating surface (2) are selected in such a manner that a space of an adequate value (H) is created to enable a user to pass his fingers into an end zone (8) of the tool when the mating surface (2) is resting on a plane (20) along its other end zone (7).
  3. Tool according to Claim 2, characterized in that the length of the main body (1) is between approximately 25 and 35 centimetres and that the radius of the curve is between approximately 40 and 60 centimetres.
  4. Tool according to any one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the width of the main body (1) is less than approximately 12 centimetres.
  5. Tool according to any one of Claims 1 to 4 characterised in that the hanging means include two opposed hanging devices (4, 5) placed on the upper surface (3) of the body (1) opposite the mating surface (2) set back at a distance (L) from the corresponding end (21, 22) of the tool, the said distance (L) being between approximately 10 and 40 millimetres.
  6. Tool according to Claim 5, characterized in that one part of the upper surface (3) of the tool body (1) situated between the hanging device (4, 5) and the corresponding end (21, 22) is slightly sloping above the plane (S) and passing through the two longitudinal ends (21, 22) of the mating surface (2).
  7. Tool according to any one of Claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the main body (1) is a rigid metallic strip of a substantially constant and scant thickness.
  8. Tool according to any one of Claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the main body (1) includes a lower part (24) generally forming a strip following the curve of the mating surface (2), and an upper part (25) which forms a central stiffening rib integral with the lower part (24) and the upper edge (26) of which is only slightly above the plane (S).
  9. Tool according to Claim 5, characterized in that each hanging device (4 5) includes :
    a lever (11) articulated along a transversal axis (12) and evoluting in parallel to the main body (1), with the lever including a pinching arm (13) with cross edge (14) curved towards the body and orientated towards the corresponding end (21) of the tool body and including an opposed actuation arm (15),
    a transversal groove (16) provided on the upper surface (3) of the main body (1), restricted by a feather edge (17) and a relief (18), and positioned in order to accomodate the transversal curved edge (14) of the lever (11),
    a resilient means stressing the lever (11) in order to push the transversal edge (14) into the said transversal groove (16).
  10. Tool according to Claim 5, characterized in that each hanging means (4, 5) includes :
    a longitudinal spring plate (30) one end of which includes a transversal edge (31) curved towards the body (1) and orientated towards the corresponding end (22) of the tool body (1), the other end of which (32) bears against the body (1), and the central part of which (33) is separated from the body (1),
    an upper guide rod (34), resting on the upper face of the longitudinal spring plate (30), and running longitudinally along the body (1) between a pinching position in which it pushes the springplate (30) towards the body (1) in order to keep the curved transversal edge thereof (31) bearing towards the body (1) in order to pinch an end of the abrasive strip, and a recess position in which it releases the spring plate (30) which because of its resilience, distances the transversal edge thereof (31) from the body (1) in order to enable the end of the abrasive strip to pass through.
