Definitions
- the invention relates to a filter plug according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such filter plugs serve, on the one hand, to create a pluggable electrical connection and, on the other hand, to block faults that could be transmitted via this connection.
- the plugs are usually soldered onto a circuit board carrying a circuit and protrude through an opening in a housing surrounding the circuit.
- Filter elements made of ferrite material are plugged onto the filter plug in order to effectively block interference that is conducted into the housing via the connection pins or interference radiation that can be emitted by the circuit onto the connection pins (DE-U 91 12 098).
- the filter elements have holes in the grid of the connector pins. They are held in the connector by the connector pins.
- the power strip is made of insulating material, interference radiation can penetrate inside or outside unhindered. In order to achieve a good blocking of the interference radiation, relatively large filter elements or shielding plates, which surround the connector, are necessary.
- the invention is based on the problem of creating a filter plug by which interference is effectively blocked without the use of a separate filter element.
- the problem is solved according to the invention by the features of claim 1 or 2.
- the groin body serves here itself as a filter element, since it is made from a mixture of insulating material and ferrite material.
- the use of such a filter plug has the advantage that an assembly step is unnecessary.
- the plug blocks interference better, with the strip body serving both as EMC protection and as capacitive and / or inductive damping. This means that an additional shield plate around the filter connector can also be omitted.
- a filter plug according to the invention is used, among other things, to suppress unwanted interference, such as high-frequency signals, interspersed signals or switching peaks.
- Such a connector can be used in a variety of ways. In particular, it can be used frequently in automotive electronics. It is primarily used in safety-relevant applications such as airbag systems.
- FIG. 1 shows an application example of a filter connector 1 according to the invention.
- An electronic circuit 3 is arranged on a printed circuit board 4 in a metallic housing 2 of a control device.
- the filter connector 1 is soldered with its pins 5 to the circuit board 4 and thus electrically connected to the circuit 3.
- the circuit 3 Via the connector 1 and a mating connector 6 inserted therein, the circuit 3 is electrically connected, for example, to sensors, a voltage supply or other control devices via a cable 7.
- the filter connector 1 is intended to block or block both interference radiation (represented by lightning-shaped arrows) and line-related interference (represented by arrows), which can subsequently be conducted from the housing 2 or into the housing 2 via the connecting pins 5 or the cable 7 be strongly dampened.
- a filter plug 1 can be designed as a pin header, as shown in the drawings, as a male header or as a female header. However, it is irrelevant to the invention how the filter plug 1 is designed.
- the invention is explained in more detail using a filter plug 1 in the form of a pin strip (FIG. 2).
- the pin strip has a strip body 8 through which the parallel, electrically conductive connection pins 5 arranged in a grid lead.
- various fasteners 9, such as Bores, deformable pinch ribs or locking elements the pin track can be attached to the housing 2 or to the circuit board 4.
- the pin header has a chamber 10 (FIG. 3) which is open towards the rear and into which the corresponding mating connector 6 can be inserted. This creates a pluggable electrical contact.
- the strip body 8 is designed as a filter element.
- a ferrite material is added to the conventional insulating material in the manufacture of the strip body 8.
- a conventional insulating material of the strip body 8 is, for example, polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), to which glass fibers can be added for mechanical reinforcement.
- PBT polybutylene terephthalate
- the PBT ferrite material is mixed. The most homogeneous possible distribution of the ferrite powder is achieved if small amounts of sintered ferrite powder are each coated with PBT so that a granulate with PBT and ferrite is present.
- the injection molding device is equipped with this granulate and the molding 8 is injection molded.
- the weight fraction of the ferrite in the granules depends on the application, i.e. the type of disturbance that is to be blocked or dampened. In the case of an airbag filter plug 1, the weight fraction of ferrite powder is approximately 30 to 50% of the total weight of the strip body 8.
- a ferrite is a compound of iron oxide with other metal oxides. Ferrites are made by sintering the fine powdered raw materials at a certain temperature. Ferrites are well known, so there is no need to go into their composition here.
- the material from which the last body is made is therefore a composite material (also referred to as a compound or two-component material), which contains at least one insulating material as the carrier material and ferrite material mixed with it.
- the filter connector 1 saves an additional shield plate of the connector 1.
- the conductor body 8 is designed as a filter element.
- the filter connector 1 according to the invention also takes up less space, since an additional ferrite block is not necessary.
- a large depth effect of the shielding or damping is also achieved by the strip body 8, since the ferrite material is distributed over the entire strip body 8.
- the shape of the strip body 8 can be made quite simple, since no mechanical measures have to be taken to hold a filter element.

Abstract
