Definitions
- the present invention relates to an alpine ski boot, with rigid or semi-rigid shell at entrance from the rear, including the shell base, surmounted by a rod obtained with a rear cover and a part forming a cuff, comprises a cover for closing the anterior zone extending in correspondence of the flexion fold of the skier's forefoot and is relative to the anterior structure of the stem.
- the rigid shell is the most effective solution to guarantee support closes the skier's lower leg, provides sealing, thermal insulation, and above all almost completely rigid mechanical transmission of support between the lower leg and the ski.
- This solution requires the use of internal clamping means for adaptation to the morphology of the foot and its maintenance entirely different from the means of tightening and / or closure of the rod on the lower leg.
- the foot has multiple joints, it is also necessary to take into account in determining the means of internal tightening of the footwear volume during the dynamics of the movement taking into account the variations of the foot between its static and loaded position, variations which can be of the order of 12 millimeters across its width, 5 millimeters across its length, and by a volume increase at the malleoli of 2 millimeters.
- the clamping means internal must, for an ideal holding of the foot, provide the various supports it needs (seat, transverse holding, etc.), while allowing the essential degrees of freedom necessary for the access to the extreme attitudes that the supported foot can take without embarrassment when skiing. These degrees of freedom are also necessary so as not to impair blood circulation and / or nervous perceptions.
- Such a rod structure also does not allow guarantee a constant position of the anterior support of the lower leg on the cuff element from one shoe to another and / or from one skier to another for a size given; indeed, the stop lower closure of the anterior elements constituting the rod being constituted by the foot, a foot "strong” will place the cuff element higher than a "weak” foot.
- the seal between the cuff element and the elements located on the foot is resolved by a lining thin rubber, which complicates obtaining the anterior structure of the rod.
- the shoe described in patent FR 2 498 431 has a front cover of closure which itself ensures the holding and the maintenance of the foot using a clamp worn on the lower ends of the cuff fixing lugs on the shell base.
- the front cover is not limited in movement down and therefore it presses permanently on the top of the foot, creating permanent pressure likely to affect blood circulation or nerve perceptions.
- the front cover being located under the cuff which carries the clamp, any forward movement of said cuff simultaneously causes an increase in the clamping force applied by the flange to said cover, and therefore generates a significant increase in pressure on the foot.
- the shoe has a front closing hood which is provided internal clamping means of the foot and which is limited in the low position on the device stops sliding side links; a posterior vertical extension of the front cover constitutes the equivalent of a cuff.
- the differentiation of the tightening for the foot support and lower leg support is achieved, but due to the fact that the front cover, which is obtained in one piece with the cuff part, is floating within the limits imposed by the devices sliding side link, any bending forward of this cuff by pressing the bottom of skier's leg causes pressure variations on the instep of the latter.
- the present invention aims to remedy the problems of maintaining the foot in the rear entry shoes with cuff and front closure hood, ensuring good sealing between the sleeve and the cover without adding specific elements, and avoiding pressure variations in the instep area when bending the skier's lower leg towards the front by pressing on the cuff.
- the invention proposes for this purpose to achieve a maintenance and / or internal tightening of the foot does not compress the flesh, while allowing the essential degrees of freedom of the foot.
- the invention aims to improve the mechanical transmission of the supports of the lower leg on the cuff ensuring permanent guiding of the latter on the front cover of closing, and this, in synchronism with the pivoting of said cuff.
- the ski boot according to the invention is of the rear entry type, the shell base of which is surmounted of a rod obtained with a rear cover and a cuff, comprises a front closure cover an anterior upper opening which it provides in the foot area.
- the front cover is has an elongated shape covering substantially the entire area extending in correspondence with the forefoot up to that of the flexion fold up the lower leg, until engaging partially by its upper edge under the lower front edge of the cuff.
- the shoe is characterized by the fact that the cuff is linked by articulation by its fixing lugs on vertical wings coming from the hull base at a height "H" between the hinge axis of the ankle of the skier and, at most, substantially in correspondence with that of the overlap of said upper edges of the front cover and lower of the cuff, and by the fact that the front cover is suspended between, on the one hand, an anterior support point located in the area of the end of shoe, and on the other hand, a posterior fulcrum located near the axis of articulation of the cuff.
- the front cover has a certain flexibility making it possible to elastic deformation of its middle part between its anterior and posterior support points using clamping means extending transversely on said front cover in the region of the bending fold at least, and being fixedly located on the shell base on either side of said front cover. So, he it is possible to fine-tune the position of the middle part of the hood, which becomes more or less less, compared to the top of the foot without having to rely on it, and therefore, to give at the foot the degrees of freedom which are essential for it to accept these dimensional variations between static and loaded position without affecting blood circulation or perceptions nervous.
- the cuff is designed to be able to bend forward according to a certain angular amplitude, around its axis of articulation on the wings of the base of shell.
- This amplitude of flexion which results in a lowering of a height "h" of the edge lower anterior of the cuff, since it rotates around the axis of articulation of the latter, is preferably limited relative to the curved area of the front cover situated in correspondence with the fold of bending so that the circular trajectory of said edge can only be engaging at the end of bending.
- Figures 1 and 2 illustrate, in elevation and side view, a ski boot provided with a front cover suspended in accordance with the invention, its support points being, in this example, fixed on the hull base.
- Figure 3 shows, seen in partial longitudinal section, the front hood suspended from the shoe Figures 1 and 2, between a rest position and a clamping position.
- Figures 1a and 1b are schematic sectional views along II-II of the shoe of Figure 1 showing two embodiments of the hull base in the area of the front cover.
- Figure 4 shows, in elevation and side view, a ski boot with a hood front suspension, still according to the invention, with a movable support point which, in this mode of construction, is located on the side tabs of the cuff.
- Figures 5 and 6 are views in partial and longitudinal section of the cuff of the shoe according to Figure 4 and show the possible behavior of the front cover suspended between its position support of the foot and its bent position, when the cuff pivots forward and between its position maintenance of the foot and its release position thereof.
- the ski boot represented in FIGS. 1 and 2 is a boot type shoe through the rear and has a general structure in which a shell base 1, surmounted by a rod 2 obtained with a rear cover 3 and a cuff 4, comprises a front cover 5 for closing a longitudinal upper opening 6 which it is provided with, and which extends from the heel at least as far as the foot area.
- This opening 6 can, either, as shown in Figures 1a and 1b, and less in the foot area, be made with transverse tabs 1 'which extend the sides of the shell base 1 by partially overlapping by their free ends or simply by staying at a distance from each other.
- the elements of comfort and traditional dressing between the foot and said cross sections and / or tabs.
- the shell base 1 is produced with vertical wings 7 which extend at least in the area corresponding to that of the skier's ankle.
- the vertical wings 7 determine, transverse to the longitudinal axis of the shell base 1, a "U" profile closed in the heel by the rear cover 3 which is retractable by tilting around its articulation 18 for putting on and taking off shoes, and in the anterior zone of the foot by the front cover 5 which remains fixed in position, thus only by the cuff 4 in the upper part of the rod 2.
- the overall anterior structure of the rod 2 of such a shoe therefore comprises a cuff 3 and a front cover 5 which are provided to partially overlap in an area 8 located above the bend fold.
- Clamping means 9, 10, of a known type close the shoe and provide differentiated support and holding lower leg and foot.
- the means 9 act between the cuff 4 and the cover rear 3, and the means 10 act on the front cover 5.
- the cuff 4 is present in the form of a curved gutter which partially covers by its wings 4 'the wings 7 of the shell base 1, and is extended in its lower part by two fixing lugs 11 connected by pivotally to said wings 7 by means of rivets 12, a central and middle notch 13 leaving free the entire area of the instep and the flexion fold of the skier's foot which is essentially covered by the front cover 5.
- this front cover 5 is mounted suspended between an anterior support point 14, such as a rivet or parts fitting into each other, located in the area of the toe 15 of the boot and a rear support point 16 located, in this example, at the location of the hinge pin 12 of the cuff 4 with which it merges.
- the cuff 4 is articulated 12 by its tabs binding 11 at a height "H" situated above the articulation zone 17 of the skier's ankle, and substantially in correspondence of the zone 8 of overlap of the cuff 4 with the cover before 5, that is to say the zone where the upper edge 5 'of the latter engages under the lower edge 13' of said cuff.
- the overlap zone 8 is located at a height "h" above the bending fold, that is to say above the most curved area of the cover before 5; this height "h” must correspond to a distance such that the circular trajectory of the edge lower front 13 'between its initial position and its most tilted forward position, resulting from its rotation around the joint 12 when the cuff 4 pivots, is not engaging on the area curved front cover 5 only at the end of bending. In fact, this height "h” shown in Figure 3 must correspond at least to the authorized bending amplitude of the cuff 4.
- the cuff 4 has no action on the hood front 5 both static and dynamic (forward bending), so that the clamping position adjusted using the clamping means 10 on the front cover 5 remains constant, and secondly, that the upper edges 5 'of the cover 5 and lower front 13' of the cuff 4 remain in close contact and permanent in zone 8 of their overlap, because they pivot around the same axis of articulation and support 12-16.
- This intimate overlap in zone 8 in fact provides central guidance and cuff 4 permanent when it pivots forward because its lower front edge 13 'is not never released from its contact with the rear upper edge 5 ′ of the cover 5, and also ensures increased tightness between said cover and cuff which retain their position independence relative to each other; in fact, when the cover 5 is tightened, as according to 19, in the direction of the foot we see that the upper edge 5 'of it slides vertically as indicated by the arrow 20 under the lower edge 13 'of the cuff 4 without interference.
- the height of the overlap zone 8 is determined to be always greater than that of the maximum vertical displacement 20 which the upper edge 5 ′ of the cover 5 can travel.
- the ski boot has a basic structure similar to that of the preceding figures and the description of the constituent elements of this basic structure is therefore not included.
- the front cover 30 is suspended, in this embodiment, between a fixed front support point 14 towards the toe 15 and a rear support point 36 likely to move, located near the axis of articulation and connection 32 of the legs attachment 37 of the cuff 34, the rod 33 comprising the latter and the rear cover 3.
- the axis of articulation 32 of the cuff 34 is disposed at a height "H" which is, this time, very close to the axis of articulation 17 of the skier's ankle and clearly below from the area of overlap 8 of the upper edge 30 'of the cover 30 with the lower edge 34' of the cuff 34.
- the rear fulcrum 36 of the front cover 30 is constituted by a ramp obtained on each of the fixing lugs 37 of the cuff 34.
- This ramp 36 is oriented obliquely, of its lowest point to its highest point from the front of the shoe backwards, so that when the cuff 34 pivots forward, the front cover 5 is forced to move simultaneously and in synchronism with it along a substantially concomitant trajectory, as is shown in broken lines in Figure 5.
- This particular arrangement therefore allows, despite the relatively clear trajectory of the lower edge 34 'of the cuff 34, to ensure monitoring simultaneous with the upper edge 30 'of the cover 30, and thus guarantee good central guidance of said dynamic 34 cuff.
- the fulcrum 36 constituted by the ramp allows said hood to relax both in its middle part as indicated by the arrow 50, and upwards slightly upwards on said ramp 36.
- the shell base 1 can be provided, on its vertical wings 7, with a support element 40 arranged in relief and against which the part posterior of the cuff 4, 34, is supported in a static position, and in particular when it is stressed towards the rear by the closing means 9 when the skier presses on the rear cover 3.
- the cuff 4, 34 may include an extension 41 of its fixing lugs 11 below its articulation axis 12, and this extension can advantageously be provided with a certain flexibility and fixed immobilized at a distance from said articulation axis 2 by an anchor 42.
- each extension 41 is behaves like a bending beam and constitutes a means of elastic control of the bending of said cuff.
- the extension 41 of the fixing lugs of the cuff 40 can extend beyond its anchor 42 by going up for example on the instep or the bending fold, to form part of the clamping means 10 of the foot.
