Abstract

The invention relates to a stapler with a staple magazine (22) fitted on a bearing bracket (12) on the base (14) so as to pivot to a limited extent, and a cap section (34) pivotable through about 180 between a closed position and an open loading position and bearing an ejector (32) engaging in the staple magazine (22). According to the invention, the base (14) is bounded at the rear of the bearing bracket (12) by a rear wall (42), while the pivot of the staple magazine (22) and the cap section (34) run substantially in the plane limited by the outside of the rear wall (42). The rear end (48) of the cap section (34) has a partially cylindrical bearing cover (44) surrounding the pivot in sections in a hinged manner and coaxial with the pivot (16) which extends through a narrow slot (46) between the wall (42) and the cap section (34), the width of said slot being constant when the cap section (34) is pivoted. At a point on the partially cylindrical bearing cover (44) there may be a catch (50) which can engage with a notch (52) inside the bearing bracket with the cap section (34) open.

Description

The invention relates to a stapler with an elongated, in the front area an anvil plate-carrying bottom part, with a to a bearing block in the rear area of the bottom part pivotable to a limited extent about a transverse axis, working according to the loader principle, with a guided in a slide guide of the staple magazine the head part of which is spring-supported clamp slide, with a pivotable around the transverse axis with respect to the clamp magazine and the base part about 180 ° from a closed position into an opened loading position while taking the clamp slide with it, a spring-supported magazine cover and a driver part engaging in the head part of the clamp magazine, which stands in its unfolded position under the action of a tension spring or pull tab acting on the clamp slide, and with a latching mechanism for releasably latching the cap part on the bottom part in its loading position ung.

A stapler of this type has become known on the market due to its obvious prior use. Similar stapler devices, which, however, do not have a latching mechanism for releasably latching the cap part in its opened loading position, are known from GB-A-2 128 127 and DE-B-1 151 243.

In the case of stapling devices of the above type designed as an upper loader, the staples located in the staple magazine are underneath with the aid of the staple slide the action of a spring pushed in the direction of the head part so that a staple is always available in the head part for ejection by the driver. For refilling, the cap part is folded around the transverse axis into its loading position which is opened by 180 ° and the clamp slide is carried in the slide guide of the clamp magazine against the spring force. The slider is retracted either via a tension spring or a pull tab. In both cases, the cap part is under the direct or indirect action of the spring acting on the clamp slide, which tries to pivot the cap part back into its closed position. In order to avoid an unwanted pivoting back of the cap part, it is already known to releasably lock the cap part in its opened loading position by means of a locking mechanism with the base part. For this purpose, for example, the transverse lower edge of the cap part rear wall, which is located in the closed position above the transverse axis, is latched in the opened loading position at a latching point of the bearing block located at a corresponding distance below the transverse axis. During the swiveling movement of the cap part, there is a pincer-like closing movement of the cap rear wall and of its transverse edge, as a result of which a finger can be pinched and injured if it is handled improperly. This is especially the case when the lower region of the base part protrudes beyond the bearing block at its rear end, which is the case with many known staplers. Often the cap part protrudes like a clamp over the pedestal, so that there is also a risk of injury due to pinching the finger when the cap part is pivoted back from its actuating position into its rest position in the actuating position.

Proceeding from this, the invention has for its object to improve the known stapler of the type mentioned in such a way that safe handling during the loading process is guaranteed without the risk of injury.

To achieve this object, the combinations of features specified in claims 1 and 6 are proposed. Further advantageous refinements and developments of the invention result from the dependent claims.

The solution according to the invention is primarily based on the idea that the base part on the rear of the bearing block is delimited by a rear, preferably vertical, boundary wall, that the transverse axis runs essentially in the plane spanned by the outer surface of the rear boundary wall, that the cap part comes on has at its rear end coaxial to the transverse axis, encompassing the transverse axis in sections like a hinge, projecting beyond the plane of the rear boundary wall, and that a narrow passage gap for the partially cylindrical bearing cover is arranged between the rear boundary wall on the bottom part side and the cap part.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the passage gap has a gap width which is invariable when the cap part is pivoted and which should be less than 4 mm in the entire pivoting range in order to avoid pinching a finger in any case.

According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, a latching step or recess arranged on the outer surface of a partially cylindrical bearing cover section and pivotable through the passage gap when the cap part is pivoted, and a latching step or recess arranged on the bottom part or bearing block and accommodating the latching cam in the opened loading position of the cap part are provided. This type of snap-in connection is particularly suitable for top-loading devices with spring return.

For top-loading staplers, in which the slide is withdrawn with the aid of a pull tab that is articulated at one end to the magazine cover and engages with the other end in the staple magazine delimited by two side walls and is guided in a slide guide of the staple magazine, according to Invention proposed that latching members engaging in the clip magazine in the rear area of the magazine side walls near the top edge, behind which the pull tab in its end position with the cap part open can be snapped in with the side edges of a tab part immersed in the clip magazine. The latching members can be designed as stamped cams molded into the side walls, the clip magazine being elastically expandable on its side walls during the latching process. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the latching members are designed as latching balls which extend through transverse bores in the side walls and are mounted in these, and which are arranged on the Bearing the outside of the side walls against an elastically flexible or resilient abutment, preferably designed as a metallic frame part. In order to prevent the locking balls from falling out, stamped cross holes are provided on the inside of the side wall.

The staple devices shown in the drawing consist essentially of an elongated, in its front area having an anvil plate 10 and in its rearward area a bearing block 12 bearing base part 14, on the bearing block 12 about a transverse axis 16 from a raised position from the base part 14 with his Head part 20 in the direction of the anvil plate 10 against the force of a spring 18 limitedly pivotable clamp magazine 22, a clamp slide 28 guided in a slide guide 24 of the clamp magazine 22 and supported in the direction of the head part 20 by a spring 26, as well as a around the transverse axis 16 with respect to the clamp magazine 22 and the bottom part 14 by about 180 ° from a closed position (Fig. 2a, 4a) in an opened loading position (Fig. 2b, 4b) with the entrainment of the clamp slide 28, a magazine cover 31 supported by a spring 30 and one in the head part 20 of the Bracket magazine 22 engaging driver 32 wear 4a and b, a pull tab 36 is additionally provided, which is guided at one end by means of a hinge 38 on the magazine cover 31 and at the other end 40 in a slide guide 41 of the clip magazine 22, and which strikes against the clamp slide 28 when the cap part 34 is opened and takes it against the force of the spring 26 into its end position which is lifted off the staples 43.

The bottom part 14 is delimited on the back of the bearing block 12 by a rear boundary wall 42. As can be seen from FIGS. 2a and b as well as FIGS. 4a and b, the transverse axis 16 runs essentially in the plane spanned by the vertical outer surface of the rear boundary wall 42. On the other hand, the cap part 34, which is made of plastic, has at its rear end a partially cylindrical bearing cover 44 which is coaxial with the transverse axis 16 and partially hinge-like around the transverse axis 16 and projects outward beyond the plane of the rear boundary wall. Between the boundary wall 42 and the cap part 34 there is a narrow passage gap 46 for the partially cylindrical bearing cover 44, the gap width of which is less than 4 mm and remains constant when the cap part is pivoted. Outside the part-cylindrical bearing cover 44, the cap part 34 has at its rear end a wall piece 48 aligned with the bottom wall 42 on the bottom part in the closed state of the cap part, on the lower edge of which the bearing cover 44 is formed.

In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 2a, b and 3, an outwardly protruding locking cam 50 is formed on a section of the partially cylindrical bearing cover 44, which protrudes outwards when the cap part 34 is closed and, when the cap part 34 is opened, passes through the passage gap 46 and behind one Latching step 52 of the partition 54 on the bottom part engages. This ensures that the spring-loaded opened cap part 34 can not accidentally close when loading. This latching device is particularly suitable for the relatively light top-loading staplers with spring return 26 of the clamp slide 28.

In the embodiment shown in Fig. 4a, b and 5a, b of an upper loader with pull tab retraction 36 of the clamp slide 28, the locking device for the opened cap part 34 consists of two locking members 56 engaging in the rear part in the clip magazine 22, behind which the pull tab 36 in their End position when the cap part 44 is opened can be snapped into place with the side edges of its tab part 40 which dips into the clip magazine 22. The locking members 56 can either be formed as embossing cams formed in the side walls 58 of the clip magazine 22 (FIG. 5a) or as locking balls (FIG. 5b) which extend through transverse bores in the side walls 58 and are supported on the outside by an elastically flexible or resilient abutment 60 his. In the latter case, the transverse bores on the inside of the side wall are appropriately cone-shaped.

In summary, the following can be stated: The invention relates to a staple device with a clamp magazine 22 which is mounted on a bearing block 12 of the bottom part 14 to a limited extent and which is pivotable about 180 ° relative to the clamp magazine 22 and the bottom part 14 from a closed position into an opened loading position pivotable cap part 34 carrying a magazine cover 31 and a driver 32 engaging in the clamp magazine 22. According to the invention, the base part 14 on the rear of the bearing block 12 is delimited by a rear boundary wall 42, while the pivot axis 16 of the clamp magazine 22 and the cap part 34 is essentially in the plane spanned by the outer surface of the rear boundary wall 42. On the other hand, the cap part 34 is provided at its rear end 48 with a partially cylindrical bearing cover 44 which is coaxial with the pivot axis 16 and partially hinge-like around the pivot axis and which extends through a narrow passage gap 46 between the boundary wall 42 and the cap part 34 which is invariable in its gap width when the cap part 34 is pivoted . A latching cam 50 can be provided on a section of the partially cylindrical bearing cover 44, which can be latched onto a latching step 52 arranged inside the bearing block when the cap part 34 is opened.
