Definitions

  • the invention relates to an attachment screen for Water outlet fittings with a number of flow or Sieve openings that as a one-piece plastic injection molded part is trained.
  • a front screen of the type mentioned is already from the European patent 0 284 763 known.
  • This Front screen serves as a protective screen around the flow openings subsequent built-in parts before plugging To protect dirt particles.
  • the known front screen has plus a number of sieve openings, all one have a rectangular clear cross section.
  • front screens are exposed to the water pressure of the inflowing water, high water temperatures and, at the same time, an increasing pollution-related increase in volume resistance. These loads could be counteracted by a corresponding material thickness of the front screen. Instead, however, efforts are being made to make such front screens as thin-walled as possible. In the case of thin-walled front screens, an overlong guidance and sharp delimitation of the individual jets is counteracted, which could otherwise lead to increased noise generation.
  • the previously known front screen therefore instead has a central support pin which is supported on the installation part arranged downstream in the flow direction. However, the known front screen can still be improved with regard to its noise and vibration behavior and with regard to its screen effects. It is therefore the task of creating a front screen of the type mentioned at the outset which is characterized by the lowest possible noise generation, a high flow rate and at the same time by a good screening or cleaning action.
  • the solution to this problem according to the invention consists, in particular, in the attachment sieve of the type mentioned at the outset, that the attachment sieve has sieve openings which have approximately the same hexagonal clear opening cross section, that the total opening cross section, based on the total end face of the sieve, is more than 40%, that the passage length the sieve openings are each less than twice the largest dimension of a sieve opening and that the mutually facing side walls of adjacent sieve openings run approximately parallel to one another.
  • the front screen according to the invention has a number of screen openings which have a hexagonal clear cross section.
  • hexagonal clear cross section of the sieve openings With such a hexagonal clear cross section of the sieve openings, the length difference between the length of a diagonal and the distance between two parallel sides is kept comparatively small in contrast to rectangular sieve openings, which is why hexagonal throughflow openings are characterized by a high and, above all, constant sieving capacity. Since the side walls of adjacent screen openings facing one another run approximately parallel to one another in the front screen according to the invention and are therefore arranged like a honeycomb, only comparatively narrow material bridges remain between these screen openings, while the overall cross section of all screen openings can be increased significantly. Due to the high clear overall cross-section, the volume resistance of the front screen according to the invention is reduced in such a way that a special support part can be dispensed with.
  • the front screen Due to the low volume resistance of the front screen according to the invention and its high flow rate, the front screen can nevertheless be made so thin-walled that its operation is only associated with a comparatively low level of noise.
  • the small guide length in the direction of flow prevents undesired, directed jet formation, so that after the attachment screen, comparatively simple jet splitting measures can be used.
  • the ratio of the area proportions between screen openings and the webs or side walls located between them is 4: 1 to 1: 1, preferably 3: 1.
  • the side walls of the screen openings are rounded on their upstream and / or downstream edges.
  • the low volume resistance of the front screen according to the invention is additionally favored by edges rounded on the inflow side.
  • the individual jets can flow off linearly at edges rounded off on the outflow side, as a result of which a swirling of these individual jets and corresponding noise formation are additionally counteracted.
  • its injection point is located in particular in the region of the upstream cone tip. This makes it possible to achieve a particularly uniform distribution of spray material, which can also be used to produce very fine structures for the side walls.
  • the front strainer according to the invention can in principle also be connected upstream of the water outlet of a water outlet fitting in the flow direction.
  • the advantages of the front screen according to the invention come into play particularly when the front screen is connected upstream of a check valve, a water quantity regulator, a throttle piece or the like built-in part for water outlet fittings, in particular a jet regulator.
  • the front screen has an annular collar, which has an annular locking groove or has the same recess and that this Locking recess with at least one locking hook or the like Latching means of the built-in part can preferably be releasably connected is which on its upstream side in particular is provided.
  • a front screen 1 for water outlet fittings which serves as a protective screen to protect the flow openings of subsequent components from clogging with dirt particles.
  • the front screen 1 has a number of screen openings 2 which allow the inflowing water to flow through and cause it to be cleaned.
  • the sieve openings 2 all have approximately the same hexagonal clear opening cross section, the side walls of adjacent sieve openings 2 facing one another running approximately parallel to one another. Due to their hexagonal opening cross section, the screen openings 2 have an almost constant opening radius, which is approximated to a round cross-sectional shape.
  • hexagonal sieve openings 2 Compared to round holes, hexagonal sieve openings 2 have the advantage in cross section that a larger passage cross section is possible per unit area and for a given side wall or web cross section.
  • This passage cross-section can be 50% or more, based on the total end face of the sieve, given predetermined, usual stability ratios. In comparison, an opening cross section of only about 44% would result with round sieve openings and otherwise the same specifications.
  • the largely constant opening radius favors good and uniform cleaning of the water flowing through, since even in the area of the diagonals of the sieve openings 2 no substantially larger dirt particles flow through and can hinder the installation part arranged downstream. Due to the parallel arrangement of the facing side walls of adjacent sieve openings, the material bridges remaining between the sieve openings can be kept comparatively narrow, so that the volume resistance of the front sieve 1 is significantly reduced and its flow rate is considerably increased.
  • this is Attachment sieve 1 convex or in the direction of the inflow side conically arched.
  • the good flow rate of the strainer 1 is still thereby favoring that the screen openings 2 approximately axially parallel are arranged to the longitudinal axis L of the sieve.
  • the height Flow rate of the front screen 1 allows this too without designing an additional support part, without that an impression at high water pressures or water temperatures of the front screen 1 would be feared.
  • the front screen 1 is preferably in one piece Plastic injection molded part. Here is the injection point this plastic injection molded part in the area of the inflow side Cone tip 3 provided.
  • the front screen 1 shown here can also stand alone can be used in a variety of ways as a filter screen. Especially however, it is advantageous to close the front screen 1 as a protective screen use which is a check valve, a Water flow regulator, a throttle piece or the like Installation part for water outlet fittings in the direction of flow is connected upstream. An embodiment is preferred in which the front screen 1 upstream of a jet regulator is.
  • the front screen 1 Around the front screen 1 on the downstream side with a downstream one To be able to releasably connect the built-in part, the front screen 1 a cup-shaped annular collar 6 on its outer peripheral region on.
  • this ring collar has on an annular locking groove on the inside of its free end region or the like locking recess 7, with at least one Locking hook or similar locking means on the inflow side Front of the relevant one, but not here shown - installation part works together.
  • the front screen 1 After the plastic injection process from the It is possible to eject the injection mold by means of recesses advantageous if the front screen 1 has several ejector points or ejector formations 9, which in the conical Sieve section on the downstream surface of the sieve arranged in a circle and at equal intervals to each other are.
  • the front screen 1 is characterized by a low Noise generation, a high flow rate and at the same time also by a good sieving and cleaning effect.
