Der in Fig. 1 dargestellte, in Niederflurbauweise ausgeführte Wagenkasten 1 dient der Beförderung von Personen. Es sind prinzipiell zwei Kopfeinheiten A und A' oder B vorgesehen, die jeweils zumindest einen Führerraum 2 enthalten und über eine Kupplungsplatte 6 mit einem Triebfahrwerk 4 oder einem Lauffahrwerk 5 zu eigenständigen Kopfmodulen verbunden werden können. Die Kupplungsplatte 6 erlaubt weiter den Anschluß des Kopfmoduls an den Wagenkasten 1. Die in Zeichnungsebene linke Kopfeinheit A kann außer dem Führerraum 2 ein Antriebsaggregat 3 aufnehmen, so daß in Kombination mit einem Triebfahrwerk 4 eine Triebkopfeinheit gebildet ist. Bei der rechts gezeigten Kopfeinheit A' handelt es sich beispielsweise auch um eine Triebkopfeinheit.
