Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a cross-flow cooler or heat exchanger, a flowing medium (heat exchange liquid) being cooled or heated by a cooling or heat flow running transversely to the direction of flow of the medium.
As is known, cross-flow heat exchangers usually consist of a device with horizontal lines (e.g. pipes or channels) for the heat exchange liquid and fans that generate an air flow that flows around the lines and thus the medium e.g. cools. Water is often used as the heat exchange fluid. In order to freeze pipes filled with water in winter during downtimes e.g. To avoid cooler, the e.g. Radiator pipes can be emptied with compressed air, or it is necessary to add antifreeze.
In order to avoid corrosion or deposits in the lines, it is also generally cheaper to use the heat exchange fluid, especially that, during downtimes Water to remove from the pipes. However, emptying the pipes with compressed air, for example, requires a corresponding source of compressed air, and is associated with a considerable amount of work and, moreover, does not allow the pipes to be completely emptied with the required safety.
In contrast, the object of the invention is to provide an improved cross-flow heat exchanger which allows simple and automatic emptying of the line of the heat exchange liquid.
This object is achieved with the features of the claims.
In the solution, the invention is based on the basic idea of providing the otherwise horizontally running line of the heat exchange liquid with a slight slope so that, while observing the principle of the cross-flow heat exchanger, the heat exchange liquid can flow out of the line automatically when the heat exchanger is shut down.
The advantages of the invention lie in a quick and cost-saving emptying of the line of the heat exchange liquid and in the avoidance of additional work.

The line 2 forms a loop with a slight slope and has an
