Abstract

PCT No. PCT/EP92/01865 Sec. 371 Date Mar. 23, 1994 Sec. 102(e) Date Mar. 23, 1994 PCT Filed Aug. 14, 1992 PCT Pub. No. WO93/06288 PCT Pub. Date Apr. 1, 1993.A device for clamping and guiding crocheting needles for a crocheting machine. On the one hand a clamping device for the crocheting needles and on the other hand a knock-over comb are to be created, which permit a very fine spacing. To this end, in the bottom part (27) and in the clamping cover (29) of a clamping device (12), opposite, straight needle beds (73, 74) are arranged closely together. The needle beds (73, 74) have wall surfaces that are inclined in a V-shape. A knock-over comb (20, 80) fixed to the machine has upwardly projecting teeth (86) for the crocheting needles. The spacing of the needle beds and guide elements is at least 12, in particular 14 per centimeter of machine width. The holding bar (23) fixed to the machine and the bottom part (27) of the clamping device (12) have recesses, in particular chambers (77, 76) that face one another, which permit the clamping device to move too close to the teeth (86).

Description

The invention relates to a device for clamping and guiding crochet hooks, in particular latch needles, pointed needles and the crochet hooks referred to by experts as "patent needles". The device is said to be applicable, generally in crochet machines, especially in crochet galloon machines. From the document EP-B1-0 110 271 (BERGER) a device for clamping crochet hooks is known, which does not work there with a knock-off comb known per se, but with a knock-off rail with an upper free, straight edge. On the other hand, a special embodiment of the lower part and clamping cover of a clamping device for crochet hooks is known from the document EP-A-0 244 656 (BERGER). There the needle shafts are inserted into rectangular grooves in the lower part and clamping cover, between which rectangular bars remain.

The present invention is intended to provide a clamping device which allows crochet needles to be clamped and guided in such a way that a previously unattainable, particularly fine division is possible, namely at least 12, in particular 14, but also more needles per cm machine width. It turned out to be unsuitable to mill grooves with such a high degree of fineness in cross-section. One problem was achieving the necessary precision. On the other hand, it turned out to be inappropriate to work with a straight top edge tee. Rather, it was necessary to guide the needle shafts in order to prevent the warp threads from being guided around the wrong or two crochet needle heads by the associated perforated needles. In addition, measures were taken necessary in order to ensure that the mutual spacing of the longitudinal threads of a ribbon to be crocheted or the like are precisely observed when stitching, even with the high desired fineness.

The above object is achieved by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1 in particular in that the needle beds have a V-shape, that the comb has tines in a V-shape, and that the clamping device and holding rail of the comb are designed and arranged so that the right edge of the clamping device is to be brought close to the teeth of the comb. In this way, it is surprisingly possible to crochet ribbons, in particular elastic ribbons, the longitudinal threads of which have the same mutual spacing, even with a division of in particular 14 per cm of machine width, so that a very uniform-looking ribbon can be produced.

The V-like arrangement of the wall surfaces of the grooves (needle beds) proved to be essential for the high precision in the production of the grooves of the clamping device and the precise clamping of the needle shafts.

The fact that the clamping device can be brought up very close to the tines of the needle comb, the storage of the crochet hooks within the clamping device also affects the part of the crochet hooks that projects into the open during operation via the tines.

Weiterbildungen der ErfindungDevelopments of the invention

According to claim 2, the tipped parts can be accommodated in an upwardly open groove of the tapping comb, whereby a high precision of the mutual spacing of the tines can be achieved.

Finally, the shafts of the crochet hooks can have cross-sectional shapes other than those used. In particular, they can each have a pointed edge at the top and bottom, or a rounded edge according to claim 7.

Das durch Maschenbildung gefertigte elastische Band 22 wird in Richtung des Pfeils 26 nach unten abgezogen.1 and 2 show an arrangement of crochet tools similar to that of FIG. 1 of European Patent 0 110 271 (BERGER). 1 and 2, one of a plurality of crochet hooks 10 clamped in a clamping device 12 with a shaft 10a and a head 10b, as well as a piercing needle 2 from a group of piercing needles arranged next to one another on a piercing needle rail 3, which are used to feed warp threads 4. A thread comb 6 is used to feed a group of elastic threads 8. Weft guides 14 and 15, which are moved transversely to the plane of the drawing, serve to feed weft threads 17 and 18. The elastic band 22 made by stitching is pulled down in the direction of arrow 26.

This arrangement can be used, among other things, for the production of elastic ribbons with a crochet tip.

Fig. 2 zeigt die linke Endstellung, Fig. 1 die rechte. A clamping device 12 for the shafts 10a of the crochet hooks shown on the left in FIGS. 1 and 2 is fastened in a known manner to a needle bar 25 and can be moved to the left and right with it. Fig. 2 shows the left end position, Fig. 1 the right. The clamping device 12 has a clamping cover 29 and a lower part 27, both of which are to be pressed together with the aid of screw bolts 19 for clamping the crochet hooks.

Fig. 3 is a partial cross section of the clamping device in a plane VI-VI in Fig. 2. In the clamping cover 29 and lower part 27, exactly opposite each other, V-shaped grooves 73 and 74 with inclined wall surfaces 78 are milled close to each other. The grooves run over the entire width of the clamping cover and lower part which can be seen in FIG. 2 and all have the same shape and width. In Fig. 3 only part of the grooves is shown. The group of grooves is thought to have been added to the right.

A group of shafts 10a1 of crochet hooks is shown on the right in FIG. 3, each having a pointed edge 89 at the top and bottom (FIG. 7) (preferred shape). A single shaft 10a2 is shown on the left in FIG. 3, which has a different cross-sectional shape, namely rounded upper and lower sides. Only needles of a single cross-sectional shape are used in each case.

Damit verbleibt für die Häkelnadeln eine Breite von 0,38 mm.With a division of 14, each unit E in FIG. 3 of needle and associated space is 0.71 mm. So that the warp threads 4 and the elastic threads 8 and their knots can be passed between adjacent crochet hooks, gaps of 0.33 mm are required. This leaves a width of 0.38 mm for the crochet hooks.

The same applies to a division of 15 and even finer divisions.

To achieve coarser divisions than shown on the right in FIG. 3, the needles can only be inserted into every second, third, fourth, etc. pair of grooves.

The arrangement with triangular grooves makes it possible, on the one hand, to mill grooves very close to one another, which is necessary for the desired high pitch, and on the other hand to pull out individual needles after loosening the screw connection of the clamping device and to replace them with new ones, the other needles remaining unchanged in their previous position stay.

By means not shown, but known means, it is ensured that the clamping cover 29 cannot move in relation to the lower part 27 in a horizontal direction (right-left in FIG. 3), so that an oblique position of the needle shafts is reliably avoided.

Wie in Fig. 1 und 2 dargestellt ist, ist von oben her in die Halteschiene eine Nut 23a gefräst.FIGS. 1 and 2 show a main traverse 21 which is arranged in a machine-fixed manner and to which a tapping comb 20 is attached. A plate-like holding rail 23, which extends in the direction of the machine width and is perpendicular, belongs to the tapping comb. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a groove 23a is milled from above into the holding rail.

In Fig. 1 und 2 rechts vom Abschlagkamm 20 ist eine Rückhalteschiene 24 angeordnet, und zwar so, daß zwischen beiden Platz zum Abziehen der fertig gehäkelten elastischen Bänder 22 bleibt.1 and 2 to the right of the tee comb 20, a retaining rail 24 is arranged in such a way that there is space between the two for pulling off the finished crocheted elastic bands 22.

When using very thin crochet hooks 10, it is important that the clamping device 12 can be guided as close as possible to the prongs 86 of the tapping comb 20 so that the part of the crochet hooks protruding from the clamping device is as short as possible. To make this possible, the holding rail 23 on the one hand and the lower part 27 of the clamping device on the other hand have matching recesses, e.g. Bevels 77 and 76, respectively. As FIG. 1 shows, the clamping device can thus be brought close to the prongs 86.

To this end, the clamping length of the crochet hook shafts is selected such that the heads 10b of the crochet hooks can be retracted to the left so far that they only protrude from the guide spaces between the prongs 86 by approximately 2 mm (FIG. 2). The stitches formed are knocked off in this position. Because the free-standing needle parts are guided very precisely, the use of very thin crochet needles of 0.38 mm width and less is made possible. On the other hand, the mutual distances between the needle heads are kept very precisely when knocking off. The result is a good-looking band in which the distances between the elastic threads 8 have no visible differences.

Fig. 4 und 5 zeigen die Ausbildung eines Abschlagkammes 80. The same parts as in FIGS. 1 and 2 are given the same reference numerals here, so the holding rail 23 with a z. B. groove 23a produced by milling. Thin plates 82 are inserted next to one another in this groove and fastened by gluing. Each plate has triangular tines 86 at the top (with sloping wall surfaces 85) of the same size and shape as the tines that result between the needle beds 73 and 74 according to FIG. 3. Each plate 82 has a greater horizontal length than that shown in Fig. 4, so that a group can be guided together from a single plate to crochet a band of cooperating needles.

Matching this triangular shape of the tines and grooves, needles can be used, the shafts 10a1 of which have a pointed edge 89 at the top and bottom, as shown in FIG. 7.

The plates 82 are made e.g. B. made of brass. Copper, bronze or a suitable plastic can also be used, so that there is as little friction as possible between the channels 84 and the crochet hooks 10 made of steel.

The mutual height of the crochet hooks 10 and the grooves 84 according to FIGS. 4 and 5 is adjusted so that the lower edges of the needles move freely back and forth within the grooves during operation. As a result, the crochet hooks only occasionally touch the walls of the grooves 84 when correction is required. In this way, the friction is reduced to a minimum.

The needle beds 73 and 74 (FIG. 3) and the grooves 84 (FIG. 4) do not necessarily have to have a triangular shape, so they do not have to have a pointed bottom 83, and the tines 86 according to FIG. 4 and accordingly according to FIG. 3 must likewise do not run out in pointed edges 81. As FIG. 6 shows, the bottoms of the grooves 84a can be designed as round surfaces 83a and the tines 86a run out in round surfaces 81a. This also applies accordingly to lower part 27 and clamping cover 29 according to FIGS. 1 and 2.

When using plates 82a with grooves 84a according to FIG. 6, the needle shafts 10a2 can have correspondingly rounded edges 90 (FIG. 8).

The constructions described can be adapted to different types of crochet devices.
