Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device and a method for opening folded sheets, the folded sheets each having a loop between their sheet halves.
  • Folding and transport devices are already known in which the fold of the folded sheets does not extend completely over the length or the width of the folded sheet, so that a loop is formed on each side of the folded sheets, into which tongues come from the side can be inserted so that the folded sheets can be opened again without overfolding.
  • DE-A-40 33 759 it is known from DE-A-40 33 759 to open folded sheets transported in scale form by spreading in order to feed them in spread form to a subsequent transport or storage system, for example a moving zigzag carrier structure.
  • the folded sheets are briefly opened during transport at a speed that is already considerably reduced compared to known devices in the form of scales due to the lateral penetration of controlled grippers into the loops in the folded fold of the folded sheets, so that they are subsequently in the zigzag carrier structures as described in DE-C -36 21 832 are known, can be saved.
  • the preambles of the independent claims are known from DE-C-36 21 832.
  • a disadvantage of this device is that the opening of the folded sheets takes place during the movement, so that the duration for the opening of the folded sheets is very limited and, particularly in the case of thin papers, opening of the folded sheets at higher speeds is no longer possible.
  • the object is achieved in a device of the type mentioned in that, during the standstill of the folded sheets, engagement means for simultaneous, parallel Intervention in the loops are present.
  • the object is achieved in a method of the type mentioned in that engagement means move simultaneously and in parallel into the loops while the folded sheets are at a standstill.
  • a transport device 1 (FIG. 1) has transport chains 2 and 2 '. They are used to move zigzag support structures 3, 4 for the transport of folded sheets 5 with the aid of drivers 59.
  • the carrier structures 3, 4 with the folded sheets 5 on rails 6 and 7 are pulled out of the storage cassettes 8 by the transport chains 2, 2 '.
  • the transport device 1 and the storage cartridges 8 are already known from DE-C-36 21 832.
  • the folding sheets 5 have loops 9 (FIGS. 3, 4) known per se to facilitate the later opening process, which loops are formed e.g. in a folder with the help of folding flaps 10 and 11 and a folding knife 13 (Fig. 2, 3) arise if the folding is not carried out to the edge of the folded sheet 5, as shown in particular in the bottom plan view of the folded sheet 5 in Fig. 2 .
  • FIG. 5 shows the position of the folded sheets 5 within the zigzag support structures 3 and 4 after they have been pulled out of the storage cassette 8.
  • Y-shaped stops 14 (cf. FIG. 6) are fastened on a spindle 15.
  • grippers 18 seated on a gripper bar 17.
  • pins 20 together with V-shaped opening plates 19, there are inserted pins 16 which can be inserted into the loops 9 of the folded sheets 5.
  • Opening bolts 22 are arranged on a rail 21 and also serve to open the folded sheets 5.
  • the zigzag support structures 3, 4 have tongues 25, 26 and 27, 28, respectively, which can be seen particularly in FIGS. 5 to 7.
  • the tongues 25, 26 and 27, 28 are elastic and each inside V-shaped connected so that they spread when the zigzag support structures 3, 4 are pulled apart (FIG. 10).
  • the stops 14 are pivoted into the position 14 '(FIG. 8), so that they each grip the folded sheets 5 on their underside and press them up a little.
  • the folded sheets 5 are thus adjusted in their position so that their loops 9 are centered on the insertion pins 16.
  • the grippers 18 grasp the folded sheets 5 in a position 18' so that they are held in place.
  • the rails 20 are moved into positions 20 'and at the same time with them the opening plates 19 in positions 19' and the insertion pins 16 in positions 16 ', whereby the folding sheets 5 are opened at the same time in a V-shape.
  • the rail 21 is moved into a position 21 ', so that the opening bolts 22 seated on it move into a position 22'.
  • the folded sheets 5 are opened over their entire width.
  • the zigzag support structures 3 and 4 are brought into positions 3 'and 4' by moving in opposite directions in the direction of arrows 23 and 24, i.e. pushed together, their tongues 25, 26 or 27, 28 penetrating into positions 25 ', 26' or 27 ', 28' between the sheet halves of the folded sheets 5 opened by the opening bolts 22.
  • FIG. 10 shows how the zigzag carrier structures 3, 4 in the positions 3 'and 4' with their tongues 25, 26 and 27, 28 protrude from the folded sheets 5.
  • the zigzag carrier structures 3, 4 are pushed together in the direction of an arrow 29 (FIG. 1) against the pull-out direction with the aid of the transport chains 2, 2 'and stored in the storage cartridges 8.
  • the folded sheets 5 can be pulled out of the storage cassettes 8 again at any time, for example in order to insert other sheets into them.
  • folded sheets 30 are removed from a stack 32 and hung on a gripper chain 31. They have been folded in the same way as the folded sheets 5 (see FIGS. 2 to 4) so that they have a loop 33.
  • another stack 43 from which the gripper chain 31 takes, for example, other folded sheets 44.
  • guide plates 34, 35 move between the folded sheets 30 in positions 34 ′ and 35 ′, respectively, from a chain 36 to roller pairs 37 driven together in one position 37 'the folded sheets 30 and transport them in the direction of an arrow 38 between fixed V-shaped guide plates 39, 40 in positions 30'.
  • the folded sheets 30 rest with their folded edge on rails 41 and 42. While the gripper chain 31 conveys the folded sheets 44 from the stack 43, Y-shaped stops 45 adjust the folded sheets 30 in position 30 'by pivoting a spindle 46, by which they are held, and adjust their loops 33 centrally on push-in needles 47, the folded sheets 30 being pushed up slightly, for example, and the loops 33 preferably being pushed apart.
  • the folded sheets 44 also reach the position in which they are opened. While the stops 45, the insertion needles 47 and the opening plates 48 each return to their starting positions, the opening bolts 50 remain in their positions 50 '.
  • the opening of the folded sheets 44 is initiated in that Y-shaped stops 52, which are seated on a spindle 57, are pivoted into positions 52 '. Then the folded sheets 44 are opened laterally by the penetration of insertion pins 53 and opening plates 54 which move into positions 54 '.
  • the folding sheets 44 are held in position 37 'by the roller pairs 37.
  • the guide plates 34, 35 are moved to positions 34 'and 35', respectively, and the roller pairs 37 transport the folding sheets 44 in the direction of arrow 38 into positions 44 ', in which they penetrate between the halves of the folding sheets 30 which are in the positions 30 'are already open.
  • folded sheets 44 are still above opening bolts 50 in positions 50'. After these have been pulled back into their original positions by the rail 51, the roller pairs 37 transport the folded sheets 44 further into positions 44 ′′.
  • the folded sheets also remain open laterally in positions 44 'and 44' 'due to the opening plates 54 projecting into them in positions 54'. Then the opening bolts 50 move back into the positions 50 'and thus also open the folded sheets 44 over their entire width.
  • the folded sheets 44 can in turn be filled with new sheets from above as often as desired.
  • the resulting folded sheet packages are then fed through the roller pairs 55 and guide tongues 56 to a packaging device, as is known, for example, from DE-C-38 11 289.
  • the lower rails 41, 42 are moved into positions 41 'and 42'.
  • a corresponding number of engagement elements in the form of insertion pins 16, 47, 53 and opening plates 19, 48, 54 are provided which help the folding sheets 5, 30, 44 open the loops 9, 33 in the fold fold.
