Definitions

  • the invention relates to a ball game racket according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Ball game rackets including tennis rackets
  • Ball game rackets are known in a wide variety of designs.
  • the sleeves include a gentle covering as well as a certain damping effect.
  • Fixing the string lengths on the outside of the frame results in a defined position of the covering relative to the frame and also to the racket grip, as is necessary for the stability and playability of the racket.
  • the increased flexibility on the inside of the frame improves the playing comfort of the racket. This improvement leads to improved damping and to the avoidance of vibrations in the covering, which adversely affect the playing comfort.
  • the mobility of the tennis racket increases the effective playing area so that the properties or almost the properties of a big head racket can be achieved with a racket of normal size.
  • a ball game racket (US-A-1 611 232) which consists of a hollow metal frame which is closed to the outside and forms a racket head.
  • For the string attachment sleeves are provided on the racket head, through which the string length is passed.
  • the sleeves In order on the one hand to fix the string lengths on the inside of the racket head as optimally as possible and on the other hand to relieve the string lengths in the area of the respective clamping, the sleeves have openings with a to the outside of the racket head, i. H. cross-section enlarging towards the outside of the frame.
  • the cross section of the opening of each sleeve corresponds to the outside cross section of the side used for racket covering.
  • the object of the invention is to show a ball game racket, in particular tennis racket, which, while maintaining the aforementioned advantages and the possibility of inexpensive production, also corresponds to the quality requirements that are placed on a tennis racket.
  • a ball game racket in particular tennis racket, is designed in accordance with the characterizing part of patent claim 1.
  • the mobility for the string lengths on the inside of the frame in the axial direction perpendicular to the plane of the covering is given by the fact that the respective sleeve has a sleeve opening whose dimension or cross section on the inside of the frame is greater than the cross section of the respective string length.
  • On the outside of the frame is fixed against the string length in question in such a way that there is no possibility of movement of the string length relative to the frame, at most a possibility of movement that is significantly less than the possibility of movement on the inside of the frame.
  • the sleeve is seated in openings or bores which are provided on the frame part on the outside of the frame or on the inside of the frame.
  • the sleeve closes the frame part forming the club head at these openings, so that penetration of moisture, dirt or other foreign particles into the cavity is not possible.
  • the respective sleeve is preferably designed such that the cross section of the sleeve opening widens in a trumpet or cone-like manner toward the inside of the frame.
  • the sleeve opening has an oval cross-section in such a way that the possibility of movement is only possible in a defined axial direction, namely in the axial direction perpendicular to the clothing plane.
  • the properties of the tennis racket or the covering can be optimally adjusted by appropriately distributing such string attachments that allow the string lengths to move on the inside of the frame and such string attachments that only allow limited mobility or no mobility.
  • the tennis racket shown in the figures consists essentially of a frame 3 forming a racket head 1 and a racket handle 2, and of the covering 4 provided on the racket head 1.
  • the frame 3 is produced both in the area of the club head 1 or the frame part 3 ′ forming this club head and in the area of the club handle 2 as a hollow body or hollow frame which is closed to the outside, namely from a fiber-reinforced plastic material.
  • the covering 4 has string lengths 4 ′ and 4 ′′ crossing each other in a known manner, of which the string lengths 4 ′ run parallel to the longitudinal axis of the racket head 1 and the string lengths 4 ′′ run perpendicularly thereto.
  • the covering 4 defines a stringing plane BE with these string lengths 4 'and 4' 'and is held on the frame part 3' in that the string lengths 4 'and 4' 'forming the covering 4 are each in a region through the frame part 3' of the the middle of the racket head 1 or the covering facing the inside of the frame to the outside of the frame and in a further region are in turn led through the frame part 3 'from the outside of the frame to the inside of the frame.
  • a sleeve 9 enclosing the string lengths is arranged in the frame part 3 '.
  • the frame part 3 'or the wall of this frame part has a bore 10 on the outside of the frame and a bore 11 on the inside of the frame.
  • the respective sleeve 9 made of an elastic plastic material is inserted in such a way that it rests with a web-like widened section 9 'against the outside of the frame and extends with a sleeve-like section 9''through the holes 10 and 11, which are arranged coaxially with one another are and lie with their axes in the clothing plane BE.
  • the sleeve-like section 9 ′′ is on its outer or peripheral surface with respect to cross-sectional shape and size to the cross-sectional shape and size of the Bores 10 and 11 adapted so that the sleeve 9 fits with the section 9 '' in these bores 10 and 11.
  • the frame part 3 'in the area of the associated bores 10 and 11 is thus completely closed to the outside and also protected against the ingress of moisture, dirt or other foreign particles.
  • the two bores 10 and 11 have the same cross section, which is larger than the cross section of the covering 4 or the string lengths 4 ′ and 4 ′′ forming this covering.
  • the section 9 ' is designed like a strip and a plurality of sections 9''are provided on this section, each section 9''being arranged in the bores 10 and 11 in the manner described above.
  • Each sleeve-shaped section 9 ′′ has an opening 12 through which the corresponding string length 4 ′ or 4 ′′ is passed for the side fastening, the part length of the covering 4 running from one passage point to the next passage point on the outside of the frame part 3 ′ rests on the section 9 '.
  • the opening 12 of the sleeve 9 has a cross section which widens towards the end of the section 9 '' facing away from the section 9 ', ie from the outside of the frame to the inside of the frame in the manner of a trumpet or cone, in such a way that the respective one on the outside of the frame String length is essentially enclosed by the sleeve 9, the covering 4 is thus fixed in the area of the bore 10 such that there is essentially no movement of the covering 4, neither in an axial direction A perpendicular to the covering plane BE, nor in an axial direction parallel to the clothing plane BE.
  • the cross-section of the opening 12 increases in the cross-sectional axis perpendicular to the covering plane BE such that it is larger on the inside of the frame than the cross-section of the string lengths. This is on the inside of the frame it is possible to deflect the covering 4 in the axial direction A by moving the covering 4 freely in the opening 12.
  • the opening 12 has an oval cross section in the form that a free movement of the covering 4 is essentially only possible in the axial direction A, while in an axial direction that is perpendicular to the axial direction A and also perpendicular to the longitudinal extent of the respective string length, thereby it is at least largely prevented that the string length 4 'or 4' 'comes into contact with the sleeve 9.
  • the desired course of the covering 4 in which the side lengths 4 'and 4' 'extend in a straight line and face each other at a predetermined angle, i.e. Cut at an angle of 90 °, even after using the racket for a long time.
  • the openings 11 and 10 have an oval cross section, the longer cross-sectional axis of which extends in the axial direction A.
  • the External cross-section of the sleeve 9 corresponds to the cross-section of the openings 10 and 11.
  • This embodiment has the advantage that in particular on the inside of the frame between two adjacent openings 11 there is as wide a region as possible, in which the wall of the frame part 3 'is not interrupted.
  • a large part of the fibers 14 of the fiber-reinforced plastic material, which (fibers) on the outside of the frame and on the inside of the frame intersect at an angle to the covering plane BE, are not interrupted by the openings 10 and 11.
  • Other fibers 14, which are interrupted by these openings overlap with a sufficient length so that overall a high stability is achieved on the more critical inside of the frame, on which the distance between the openings 11 is smaller than the distance between the openings 10 on the outside.
  • a damping material 13 is introduced into the opening 12 of the sleeve 9, which surrounds the respective string length 4 'or 4' 'in the region of both bores 10 and 11, which in the embodiment shown the each opening 12 completely fills in its part not occupied by the string length 4 'or 4' '.
  • the material 13 is a permanently elastic material which absorbs kinetic energy when deformed, i.e. converts to heat and has a dampening effect.
  • the material 13 is introduced into the openings 12 after the sleeves 9 have been inserted and after the racket has been strung.
  • the tight closure, in particular of the bores 10 and 11 through the sleeves 9, ensures that the material 13 only reaches the openings 12 and not the interior of the hollow frame 3 or the hollow frame part 3 '.
  • the damping material 13, in conjunction with the possibility of movement of the covering 4 in the axial direction A, results in a substantial improvement in the playing comfort, in particular also in that even with a very rigid frame 3 there is a substantially improved damping. Furthermore, vibrations of the covering 4 which impair play comfort are avoided.
  • the sleeve 9 with the end lying away from the section 9 ' projects slightly beyond the inside of the frame part 3', the opening 12 completely, i.e. is also filled with the material 13, in particular in the region of the bore 11.
  • FIG. 5 shows, in a representation similar to FIG. 3, a further embodiment in which the sleeves 7 each have a circular cylindrical outer cross section and accordingly the openings 10 and 11 in the frame part 3 'are circular cylindrical.
  • the bore 12 of each sleeve again has the cross-section described above, which widens in the cross-sectional axis perpendicular to the clothing plane BE in the manner of a trumpet or cone, so that the covering 4 can be avoided in the axial direction A, namely through free movement of the stringing in the bore 12, while a movement in the stringing plane BE and perpendicular to the respective string length 4 'or 4' 'is not or at least essentially not possible.
  • the invention has been described above using exemplary embodiments. It goes without saying that changes and modifications are possible without thereby departing from the inventive concept on which the invention is based.
  • the opening 10 in the embodiments shown in FIGS. 2 and 4 it is possible to design the opening 10 in the embodiments shown in FIGS. 2 and 4 so that it has a smaller diameter than the opening 11.
  • the sleeve-like section 9 ′′ is provided at the transition area to the section 9 ′ with a circumferential groove 15 into which the edge of the opening 10 engages.
  • the sleeve 9 are preferably part of a sleeve strip.
  • the embodiment according to FIG. 5 has the advantage that the circular cylindrical openings 10 and 11 can be easily produced, but at the same time the covering 4 can only evade in the axial direction A.
