An equipment for transporting and handling weft-yarn stock bobbins (4) as well as for feeding them to bobbin frames (3) on looms and for carrying empty bobbin tubes (4') away from the bobbin frames (3), having a station (5) for loading with the wound stock bobbins (4) bobbin holders (12) which can then be brought via a transport loop (7) to the looms, and for removing bobbin tubes (4') from bobbin holders (12') which can be returned via the transport loop (7), and having a storage section (7c) branching off the transport loop (7) for receiving the bobbin holders (12, 12') as well as having a loading mechanism (18) provided between the storage section (7c) and the looms for replacing bobbin tubes (4') with any one of the stock bobbins (4), characterized in that the storage section (7c) is connected to a portion (7a, 7e) of the transport loop (7) intended for loading a number of groups of looms arranged in parallel rows, and is constructed for receiving a transport unit (30, 30a) consisting of combined bobbin holders (12, 12') to correspond with the bobbins needed by the looms of at least one of the groups of looms (1a, 1b, ...1n), that a secondary transport mechanism (10) is provided, which may be moved independently of the transport loop (7) towards a number of groups of looms (1a, 1b, ...1n) and is intended for receiving temporarily at any time at least the transport unit (30, 30a) consisting of combined bobbin holders (12, 12') which may be fed from the storage section (7c) and returned to it, and that the loading mechanism (18) is fitted to this transport mechanism (10) in such a way that it may be adjusted in relation to the looms of the group of looms (1a, 1b, ...1n) and fixed in loading positions associated with the respective looms.

An equipment as in one of the preceding Claims, in which the transport loop (7) is formed by a conveyor equipment which is guided in guiderails (15) arranged at a certain height above the floor, characterized in that the storage section (7c) is formed by a piece of guiderail (15') which joins onto one of the guiderails (15) of the transport loop (7) and is suited to receiving the predetermined number of bobbin holders (12, 12') for the stock bobbins and/or bobbin tubes (4').
  6. An equipment as in Claim 5, characterized in that the piece of guiderail (15') is connected to a portion of guiderail of a transport section (7e) running along a number of groups of looms (1a, 1b...1n).
  7. An equipment as in one of the preceding Claims, characterized in that the secondary transport mechanism (10) comprises a supporting structure which is able to move over a number of groups of looms (1a, 1b...1n), each group arranged in one row, and has at least one bearer rail (16, 16a, 16c, 16d, 16e) running in parallel with the groups of looms (1a, 1b...1n), that the storage section (7c) and/or a mounting (20) which may be brought together with it for temporarily receiving the bobbin holders (12, 12') is formed by at least one guideway running along the bearer rail (16, 16a, 16c, 16d, 16e), and that the charging mechanism (18) is mounted on the bearer rail (16, 16a, 16c, 16d, 16e) so as to be able to shift along it lengthwise.
