Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a contact socket for the connection of flat contact tongues. Contact systems of this type are used to a large extent in the automotive industry, specifically in the power supply circuits of motor vehicles. The known contact sockets generally consist of a sheet metal strip of a width which exceeds the width of the flat contact tongues by an amount which allows the lateral strip zones to be bent towards one another by approximately 270 ° so that the strip edges are at a short distance from the surface of the middle one Area of the metal strip. When establishing a contact connection, the contact spring tongue is rolled up with its lateral edges under the to a certain extent lateral strip zones of the metal strip of the contact socket pressed. Contact sockets of this type allow inexpensive production and take up little space. However, contacting leaves much to be desired. Contact sockets of this type are not suitable for frequent plugging operations. For this reason, they cannot be used in plug-in connection devices for testing purposes, as are used in particular in automobile construction and in repair shops, for example for fault diagnosis of motor vehicles.
A structurally simple contact socket, which allows large plug-in cycles without causing a disadvantageous change in the current transfer resistance, is characterized according to the invention essentially by a contact spring support with two mutually parallel supporting walls, on each of which preferably a row of two inside (s) such curved contact springs is / are arranged in such a way that a gap which is elastically widening when a flat contact tongue is brought into contact with the contact is formed. In this way, multiple contacting dependent on the number of contact springs and thus a high current carrying capacity with low contact resistance and nevertheless low insertion forces are ensured.
The contact springs could be fixed with their one end, preferably the end facing away from the insertion side of the flat contact tongues, in each case on the associated supporting wall by a clamp connection or a soldered connection. A particularly simple fixation and mounting option results, however, if the ends of each contact spring on the outside of the associated supporting wall are bent towards one another and if the distance between the two bending points of each contact spring is chosen to be larger by a dimension determining the size of the contact spring curvature than the distance of the supporting wall edges on which the bent ends of the contact springs rest. Due to the tendency of the contact springs to return to their initial state To relax with a larger curvature results in the assembled state due to the spring extension and the resulting lower curvature, a firm support of the springs on the edges of the supporting wall and a favorable spring preload in terms of contact with the flat contact tongue.
As an alternative to the aforementioned clamped or soldered connection, preferably at the end facing away from the insertion side of the flat contact tongues, it can also be provided according to the invention that the contact springs are made in one piece with the associated supporting wall, then bent back and the respective free end of the contact springs is arranged around the corresponding one Wedge edge is bent back. In this case, the contact springs only have to be bent back at one end. The assembly is very easy.
For further simplification, each support wall can be stamped out of a sheet metal together with the associated contact springs.
Of course, supporting walls and contact springs can be punched out of sheet metal with a constant thickness. However, with regard to, for example, their bending rigidity, completely different requirements are placed on the supporting walls as load-bearing or holding elements than on the contact springs. It is therefore preferred according to the invention that the thickness of the sheet metal from which the supporting wall and the associated contact springs are punched is graded. For example, the part of the sheet which forms the later supporting wall can be made stronger than the part which later forms the contact springs.
It has proven to be very favorable in terms of construction if the two supporting walls are connected to one another via a transverse wall which determines the distance between the supporting walls are. In this way, it is possible to manufacture the contact spring support forming the main component of the contact socket as a uniform stamped and bent part.
In a very advantageous further embodiment, a supporting wall delimiting the insertion gap for the flat contact tongue is provided on the edges of the supporting walls remote from the transverse wall.
This retaining wall could be fixed to the edges of the supporting walls by a welded or soldered connection. A simpler connection is obtained if the support wall is provided with holding tabs extending transversely from it and bent at a right angle, each of which abuts the outside of one of the supporting walls and ensures that the support wall is firmly held on the contact spring support with its ends bent towards one another.
In order to prevent an axial displacement of the support wall relative to the contact spring carrier in a structurally particularly simple manner, it has proven to be advantageous if the transverse wall is provided with a cutout in which the bent ends of the retaining tabs of the support wall engage.
It has been found to be very advantageous with regard to a correct position of the contact springs in their position next to one another if the ends of the retaining tabs are bent through 180 ° and the support walls reach behind the cutout and if the end edges of the end wall starting from the end edge of the transverse wall Support walls are each provided with a recess, which begin where the ends of the retaining tab end and define the area of the support wall edges on which the bent ends of the contact springs are supported.
The invention is further directed to a test contact plug device with a plurality of continuous recesses for receiving and releasably fixing contact sockets with the insulating body having the features set out above. This device is characterized in that each contact spring carrier is assigned at least one latching tongue which extends obliquely to the axis of the insertion gap for the flat contact tongue from the outside of the contact spring carrier and engages behind a lateral latching shoulder provided in the recess when inserted into the associated recess of the insulating body. In this way, it is possible to equip test contact plug devices with contact spring-mounted contact sockets arranged in a certain pitch, which can also be easily detached if necessary and exchanged for new contact sockets.
It has proven to be very advantageous from a structural point of view if a latching tongue is formed in one piece with at least one of the two retaining lugs of the supporting wall.
From a constructional point of view, it is very advantageous if, in the case of a test contact plug device with a connecting projection serving for the supply of current, the connecting projection of each contact socket starts from the transverse wall connecting the supporting walls. In one variant, the connection protrusion can be provided with crimp tabs that permit the fixed connection of a cable.
However, if it is a test contact plug device with highly stressed contact sockets, which can be regarded as a wearing part, the connecting projection is expediently designed in the form of an approximately round contact pin which enables the easily detachable connection of a cable connected to a contact spring socket.

The
Bei Einführung in die zugehörige Ausnehmung 23 des Isolierkörpers 24 hintergreift jede Rastzunge 25,26 eine in der Ausnehmung 23 vorgesehene seitliche Rastschulter 27,28.3 and 4 show the use of the contact sockets according to the invention in a test contact plug device with a plurality of
From the drawing it can be seen that the locking
The
Das freie Ende 6' der Kontaktfeder 4' ist um die Tragwandkante 10' zurückgebogen.9 to 13 serve to explain a second embodiment of the invention. The same reference numerals designate the same elements. The second exemplary embodiment of the invention differs from the first in that the contact springs 4 'are formed as narrow tongues made in one piece with the respectively associated supporting
Fig. 13 zeigt ein Blech 33.
