Definitions
- a ground contact element is provided which is fastened on the inside of the body panel to the shaft of the antenna base and with two opposite contact arms which extend substantially axially to the shaft and are radially deflectable with respect to the shaft in the area of the elastic holding part extends into the hole in the body panel.
- the contact arms are radial due to their spring tension, i. H. in the plane of the hole, pressed against the edge of the hole.
- the electrical contact between the contact element and the body panel takes place through the spring tension which acts transversely to the body panel, the contact element pressing against the inside of the body panel, preferably at a contact point which is at a distance from the edge of the hole on the body panel.
- the antenna can also be easily mounted, because the insertion of the contact element into the hole is not necessary when inserting the antenna base or the holding part into the hole in the body panel.
- the contact element almost automatically comes into its contact position without requiring special attention, since there is enough space around the edge of the hole in which the contact element can make reliable contact with the inside of the body panel in various rotational positions of the contact foot.
- the required pressure on the body panel is guaranteed due to the elasticity of the contact element. It is easily possible to provide great axial flexibility for the contact element, so that one and the same contact element can be used for different types of vehicles with different shapes of the body panel.
- contact arm or arms by means of leaf springs which are connected radially with respect to the antenna base axis to an annular contact arm holder which is fastened to the shaft of the antenna base.
- This contact arm holder is preferably a flat ring, from which the contact arm or arms preferably extend radially in one piece.
- the body panel is curved and laterally at a distance from the Antenna base is directed obliquely or parallel to its axis, it is advantageous to bend the or the contact arm angle or arcuate towards the side facing away from the holding part or the hole, the extent of the bend being adapted to the course of the body panel. This ensures a better adaptation of the contact arm or arms or a flat contact of the contact arm on the inside of the body panel, whereby the contact is improved.
- the solution according to the invention is particularly suitable for antenna base fastenings in which the holding part is a sleeve-shaped component that surrounds the antenna base, which is buttoned into the hole in the body panel and extends inwards and optionally also outwards with sleeve parts of a certain length.
- the body panel extends obliquely to the axis of the antenna base in the region of the sleeve-shaped holding part, this results in a considerable length for the sleeve-shaped holding part.
- plug-in distances of considerable length are predefined for the antenna base when mounting the antenna.
- the contact element according to the invention is also very suitable for such an application.
- the electrical ground connection is to be realized by a ground cable
- a relatively long ground cable of more than approximately 150 mm is required for reasons of assembly or disassembly.
- a long ground cable can affect the reception quality. Therefore, the contact element according to the invention is particularly advantageous in addition to such a ground cable.
- the ground contact element according to the invention results in a short ground contact, so that the impairment of the reception quality due to the long ground cable no longer occurs.
- the antenna 1 with the telescope 2 only the area of the antenna base 3 is shown in a position encompassing a body panel 4 in a hole 5.
- the antenna cable, not shown, runs coaxially through the antenna base 3.
- the antenna base 3 has a shaft 6 which is round in cross section and extends through the hole 5.
- the shaft 6 At the outer end of the shaft 6, the latter has a spherical segment-shaped head part 8, against the spherical segment-shaped outer surface of which a spherical segment-shaped inner surface lies sealingly against the outer end of the holding part 7.
- the spherical section surfaces 9a, 9b due to their shape or a neck constriction 8a which results between the head part 8 and the remaining cylindrical shaft part 11, provide a form-fitting holder against axial displacement of the shaft 6 in the holding part 7, whereby the shaft 6 is axially secured in the holding part 7 is.
- the body panel 4 runs obliquely and is convexly curved.
- the holding part 7 has on its outer circumferential surface a circumferential groove 12 which runs in accordance with the course of the body panel 4 and with which it is buttoned in hole 5.
- the sealing of the hole 5 is achieved in that the holding part 7 presses with a certain pretension against the hole edge 13 encompassed by it.
- the holding part projects outwards with an outer sleeve part 7a and inwards with an inner sleeve part 7b.
- Two earth connection parts are provided for the earth connection of the antenna 1 to the body panel 4.
- a ground cable 14 is arranged, the connecting elements 15, 16, z. B. crimp parts, one of which is electrically connected to a connecting element 17 on the shaft 6 and the other in a manner not shown with the body panel 4, z. B. by a screw.
- the second ground connection part is an electrical contact element 18 made of electrically conductive metal, which is fastened to the shaft 6 and has one or preferably a plurality of contact arms 19 which, in the sense of springs, in particular leaf springs, to the side facing away from the hole 5, i. H. are axially elastically bendable with respect to the shaft axis 6a and are dimensioned or shaped so long that they are prestressed with their end regions against the inside 21 of the body panel 4 in the installation position shown at a distance from the hole 5 due to their spring tension.
- the contact element 18 consists of a flat ring 22, on the circumference of which a one-sided arcuate flange segment 23 is integrally formed, which extends over a circumferential angle of approximately 90 °.
- a plurality (9 pieces) of contact arms 19 are connected in one piece, which lie side by side in the plane of the ring 22, extend approximately radially outward and form a fan-shaped segment.
- the contact arms 19 slightly converge towards their free ends, at which they are rounded.
- the contact element 18 is a stamped part which is stamped in one piece from a sheet of electrically conductive material.
- the contact arms 19 are preferably angled slightly with respect to the plane of the ring 22, as can be clearly seen in FIG. 4. This angling is preferably achieved by bending the outer region of the flange segment 23 around a fictitious bending line 24 running in its central region. As a result, it is not the contact arms 19 themselves, but rather the outer edge region 25 of the flange segment 23 to which the contact arms 19 are connected is slightly angled.
- the contact arms 19 are additionally bent somewhat towards the same side, these end regions being shaped like a spoon at the same time, as can be seen from FIGS. 5 and 6.
- the bulge 27 of this spoon shape faces away from the side towards which the contact arms 19 are angled slightly.
- the contact element 18 In the installed position, the contact element 18 is plugged with its hole 28 in the ring 22 onto the antenna base 3 and clamped between two shoulders 29, 30 of the antenna base 3, e.g. B. by a screw. In this position, the contact arms 19 extend radially away from the antenna base 3, and they can thus be axially elastically bent out with respect to the antenna base 3 or the shaft 6. Because of their tongue shape or leaf spring shape, the contact arms 19 are themselves bendable, so that their end regions 26 can be bent or radially bent at the same time.
- the contact element 18 is mounted so that the slight angling of the contact arms 19 is directed towards the side facing away from the body panel 4.
- the contact element 18 is installed on the antenna base 3 in such a way that the contact arms 19 point towards the body panel 4.
- the contact arms 19 When installing the antenna 1 in the hole 5 from the inside of the body panel 4 ago, which is preferably a fender, the contact arms 19 are pressed against the inside 21 of the body panel 4, and they find a rich contact surface, the contact arms 19 coming into contact with the body panel 4 due to their radial extension are bent out to different degrees, as can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2.
- the inside 21 of the body panel can have an electrically conductive coating 31, preferably made of corrosion-resistant material such as stainless steel.
- the coating 31 can be applied directly to the body panel 4 or at a short distance therefrom, e.g. B. on an inside corrosion protection layer.
- the coating 31 forms a capacitive ground contact with the body panel 4, which is particularly advantageous for the HF range.
- the conductive coating 31 is preferably formed by a film on the electrically conductive metal which is glued onto the corrosion protection layer. A sufficient area size is required for the coating 31. There is enough space on the inside of the body panel 4 for this.
- a length of more than about 150 mm is required for the ground cable 14, in particular because of the design of the sleeve-shaped holding part 7.
- this length of the ground cable 14 can be too great and adversely affect the reception quality, particularly in the FM range.
- This disadvantage is compensated for by the short-circuit effect of the contact element 18.

Description
The invention relates to a vehicle antenna according to the preamble of
For interference-free reception with vehicle antennas, it is necessary to ensure a good earth connection between the base of the vehicle antenna and the body panel of the vehicle.
From DE-PS 26 16 968 a ground contact ring is known which is clamped between a shoulder on the antenna base and the inner edge of the hole in the body panel. The ground contact ring has teeth protruding radially and transversely to its plane, with which it presses against the inner hole edge of the body panel and at the same time radially against the shaft of the antenna base. This known configuration leads to difficulties in dismantling the antenna because the ground contact ring is jammed on the shaft of the antenna base. It is difficult to remove the ground contact ring, for example to replace it. In addition, this configuration is not suitable for an antenna held elastically on the edge of the hole in the body panel by means of an annular or sleeve-shaped holding part. Furthermore, this ground contact ring cannot be used in cases in which the body panel in the region of the hole runs obliquely to the central axis of the antenna base or is curved.
In order to be able to mount the antenna in the last-mentioned cases, too, the transition has been made to hold the antenna base elastically in the hole by means of a sleeve-shaped holding part made of elastic material, the holding part on the one hand Antenna base and on the other hand is held on the edge of the hole in the body panel. Such an elastic neck part allows a flexible attachment of the antenna, and it also leads to a simple sealing of the hole, which largely eliminates corrosion problems.
In the case of an antenna fastening of this type described in German utility model 88 15 096, a ground contact element is provided which is fastened on the inside of the body panel to the shaft of the antenna base and with two opposite contact arms which extend substantially axially to the shaft and are radially deflectable with respect to the shaft in the area of the elastic holding part extends into the hole in the body panel. In the installed position, the contact arms are radial due to their spring tension, i. H. in the plane of the hole, pressed against the edge of the hole.
In this known embodiment, the seal is difficult because a metallic element interacts with the edge of the hole and therefore the seal cannot be made directly at the edge of the hole. Therefore, in this known embodiment, a special sealing cap is provided on the outside of the body panel, which acts with a sealing lip radially surrounding the edge of the hole against the outside of the body panel. In addition, the construction and assembly work is very large. The large construction effort is determined by the design of the contact element and the holding part. When assembling or disassembling the antenna, special attention should be paid to inserting the contact arms of the contact element into the hole. This is due to the generally narrow and confusing spatial conditions, e.g. B. in the fender of a car, very difficult.
The invention has for its object to design a vehicle antenna of the type mentioned so that it Ensuring low construction costs can be assembled and disassembled more easily.
This object is solved by the features of
In the antenna according to the invention, the electrical contact between the contact element and the body panel takes place through the spring tension which acts transversely to the body panel, the contact element pressing against the inside of the body panel, preferably at a contact point which is at a distance from the edge of the hole on the body panel. As a result, not only is a simple design or spatial shape possible for the contact element, but the antenna can also be easily mounted, because the insertion of the contact element into the hole is not necessary when inserting the antenna base or the holding part into the hole in the body panel. The contact element almost automatically comes into its contact position without requiring special attention, since there is enough space around the edge of the hole in which the contact element can make reliable contact with the inside of the body panel in various rotational positions of the contact foot. The required pressure on the body panel is guaranteed due to the elasticity of the contact element. It is easily possible to provide great axial flexibility for the contact element, so that one and the same contact element can be used for different types of vehicles with different shapes of the body panel.
The problem described last arises in particular in the case of passenger cars in cases in which the body panel, e.g. B. a fender, already in the region of the hole or immediately next to it have different shapes can. For this reason, it is advantageous to design the contact element with a plurality of contact arms which are arranged next to one another in a plane running transversely to the axis of the antenna base, as a result of which not only the contact area is enlarged, but also the contact options in particular with different body panel shapes are improved. Particularly when a plurality of contact arms are provided, it is ensured that at least several contact arms find contact on the body panel.
It is therefore also advantageous to form the contact arm or arms by means of leaf springs which are connected radially with respect to the antenna base axis to an annular contact arm holder which is fastened to the shaft of the antenna base. This contact arm holder is preferably a flat ring, from which the contact arm or arms preferably extend radially in one piece.
In the case in which a plurality of contact arms are arranged side by side, these generally only need to extend radially outward in a certain circumferential area, in particular segment-shaped, in order to reach, for example, a fender side wall. In this case, the contact element can have a fan-shaped shape with its single contact arm or with its multiple contact arms, the contact arm or arms being arranged in segment form.
Another advantage of the embodiment according to the invention is that the contact element can be produced with a simple construction or spatial shape. It is preferably a stamped part which is stamped in one piece from a sheet of electrically conductive material.
Especially in cases where the body panel is curved and laterally at a distance from the Antenna base is directed obliquely or parallel to its axis, it is advantageous to bend the or the contact arm angle or arcuate towards the side facing away from the holding part or the hole, the extent of the bend being adapted to the course of the body panel. This ensures a better adaptation of the contact arm or arms or a flat contact of the contact arm on the inside of the body panel, whereby the contact is improved.
The solution according to the invention is particularly suitable for antenna base fastenings in which the holding part is a sleeve-shaped component that surrounds the antenna base, which is buttoned into the hole in the body panel and extends inwards and optionally also outwards with sleeve parts of a certain length. In particular, if the body panel extends obliquely to the axis of the antenna base in the region of the sleeve-shaped holding part, this results in a considerable length for the sleeve-shaped holding part. As a result, plug-in distances of considerable length are predefined for the antenna base when mounting the antenna. The contact element according to the invention is also very suitable for such an application.
If, in the case of a sleeve-shaped contact element as described above, the electrical ground connection is to be realized by a ground cable, a relatively long ground cable of more than approximately 150 mm is required for reasons of assembly or disassembly. Especially at frequencies in the FM range, a long ground cable can affect the reception quality. Therefore, the contact element according to the invention is particularly advantageous in addition to such a ground cable.
The ground contact element according to the invention results in a short ground contact, so that the impairment of the reception quality due to the long ground cable no longer occurs.

As shown in particular in FIG. 2 in detail, the
The
In their
In the installed position, the
For assembly reasons, a length of more than about 150 mm is required for the ground cable 14, in particular because of the design of the sleeve-shaped holding part 7. For a good reception performance of the
