Abstract

A waste sorting installation contains a conveying system loaded with waste for manual sorting of the waste. The conveying system (10) runs through a cabin (36) which is arranged on a transportable frame (38). The cabin (36) encloses the conveying system (10) and the work stations of the persons employed on this. In order to permit working on a waste sorting installation in a relatively narrow cabin, an odour barrier (46, 48) is provided which on the one hand permits the manual sorting process but on the other separates the compartment accommodating the persons from the conveying system (10). This odour barrier is formed by an air curtain with fresh air infeed and vitiated air extraction. <IMAGE>

Description

Technisches GebietTechnical field

The invention relates to a waste sorting system with a conveyor system loaded with waste for manual sorting of the waste.

Zugrundeliegender Stand der TechnikUnderlying state of the art

Waste (rubbish) is usually deposited in landfills or incinerated in waste incineration plants. Both methods are associated with considerable environmental damage. In many cases it is even necessary to dismantle existing landfills as part of the so-called "contaminated site remediation". There is a risk of health-threatening air pollution when incinerating waste. The incineration residues have to be placed in landfills again. Landfill space is scarce and hardly available in many areas, while the amount of rubbish and waste is constantly increasing.

On the other hand, waste generally contains a large number of reusable components such as metals, organic components that can be processed into humus, plastics, glass and paper. It is therefore endeavored to place such components in separate waste containers from the outset to collect. In practice, however, this is only possible to a limited extent.

Die CH-A-403 683 betrifft ein fahrbares Aggregat zum Aufbereiten von Müll, auf dessen Fahrgestell kontinuierlich arbeitende Transportbänder, eine Siebmaschine, eine Magnetrolle und ein Energieerzeuger mit einer zerreißend und zerkleinernd, ebenfalls kontinuierlich arbeitenden Schlegelmühle vereinigt sind.CH-A-403 683 relates to a mobile unit for processing refuse, on the chassis of which continuously operating conveyor belts, a screening machine, a magnetic roller and an energy generator are combined with a tearing and crushing, also continuously operating flail mill.

Waste treatment plants are known in which the waste is first fed to a shredding device for shredding bulky parts, then a sieving device for eliminating disruptive material and finally a conveyor system for manually sorting the material leaving the sieving device. Known waste treatment plants of this type are stationary plants which are housed in fixed buildings. Such systems are not very flexible. It is very complex to create.

Offenbarung der ErfindungDisclosure of the invention

The invention has for its object to provide a waste sorting system that can be created with relatively little effort and can be used in many ways.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that
  • (a) a cabin that
    • is arranged on a transportable frame and
    • encompasses the funding system and the jobs of the people involved, and
  • (b) an odor barrier that allows the manual sorting process to separate the space accommodating the people from the conveyor system.

Such a facility does not require any buildings. Together with other modules, e.g. with a comminution device and / or a screening device, to the required location.

The sorters, which sort out the individual reusable components of the waste, are protected from the weather in a cabin despite the mobility. It has been shown that the problems of dust and odor nuisance which occur when working with waste, in particular with waste, in a relatively small cabin can be solved by suitable odor barriers.

A system of the type described can be used for processing domestic waste, for processing commercial waste similar to household waste, for processing bulky waste or for processing construction site waste.

Bevorzugte Ausführungen der ErfindungPreferred embodiments of the invention

Der Prozentsatz hängt natürlich von der Natur des Abfalls ab.The waste sorting system contains a conveyor system 10, which permits manual sorting of the material passing through, which is input into a hopper 12. The conveyor system 10 contains a conveyor device 14 which conveys in the longitudinal direction and leaves the material to be conveyed accessible. In the exemplary embodiment shown, this conveyor device 14 is a conveyor belt. Below the conveyor 14, transverse conveyors 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28 and 30 are arranged on both sides and at a distance from one another. The cross conveyors are arranged in pairs opposite each other on both sides of the conveyor 10. The cross conveyors of each pair, e.g. 16 and 18, convey in opposite directions. The cross conveyors 16, 20, 24, and 28 convey upwards in FIG. 2. The cross conveyors 18, 22, 26 and 30 convey downwards in FIG. 2. In the illustrated embodiment, the cross conveyors are also formed by conveyor belts. The cross conveyors 16 to 30 are arranged at lateral distances from one another. Workplaces 32 are then formed between the cross conveyors. At workplaces 32 there are sorters. Each of these sorters sorts a certain type of recyclable components from the waste and throws this component onto the associated cross conveyor. Such components can be, for example: wood, paper, glass, plastic, metal, building rubble or earth or slag. Waste that has not been sorted out continues to run on the conveyor 14 and falls into a container trough 34. These are unusable residues that have to be deposited in a landfill. These residues form only a fraction of the total amount of waste. It has been shown that with the system described, the amount of waste to be deposited in a landfill can be reduced by at least 50%. The percentage of course depends on the nature of the waste.

The working conditions of the sorters are of course a problem with such a mobile system. It is usually not reasonable for the sorters to work outdoors all day unprotected and to be exposed to cold and heat, rain or snow. The system must be able to work regardless of the weather and season. Waste also occurs regardless of the weather and season. For this reason, the area of the conveyor system 10 containing the workplaces 32 is through a cabin 36 covered. The conveying device 14 and the transverse conveyors 16 to 30 are guided into the interior of the cabin 36 in a sealed manner by conventional rubber aprons. As can be seen from Figure 1, the hopper 12, the conveyor system 10 and the cabin 36 are arranged on a frame 38. The frame 38 is designed as a semitrailer and is supported on two pairs of wheels 40, 42 and a support 44. In such a relatively narrow cabin, however, the sorters would be exposed to significant dust and / or odor nuisance with most types of waste. Measures have therefore been taken to avoid this dust and / or odor nuisance to the sorters or to reduce them to an acceptable level. It has been shown that this is possible.

A solution to the problem of avoiding dust and odor nuisance to the sorters from the waste is shown in FIG. 3. 3 schematically shows a section through the cabin 36 with the conveyor device 14. Lower air openings 46 are provided along the conveyor device 14. Furthermore, air openings 48 are provided along the conveyor device 14 and above the same. The upper air openings 48 are substantially opposite the lower air openings 46. In the operating mode shown, the lower air openings 46 are connected to a fresh air blower 52 via a 2/4-way valve 50. The fresh air blower 52 draws in fresh air from a fresh air inlet 54 and blows this fresh air as fresh air jets 56 essentially vertically through the lower air openings 46. The upper air openings 48 are connected to an exhaust air blower 58. The exhaust fan 58 sucks exhaust air from the interior of the cabin 36 via the 2/4-way valve 50 and presses it into the open via an exhaust air outlet 60. An air curtain is thus created between the conveyor 14 and the sorters which prevents the distribution of dust and stench in the interior of the cabin 36 and which directs the dust and malodorous gases from the waste to the upper air openings 48. Since the fresh air that is sucked in, possibly excessively cold or warm, is sucked out again essentially immediately via the air openings opposite, it has only a minor influence on the room temperature in the cabin 36.

The mode of operation shown corresponds to the case that the outside temperature is higher than the room temperature. In this case, the relatively warm fresh air rises to the upper air openings 48 due to thermal buoyancy, which favors the formation of an air curtain. If the outside temperature is lower than the room temperature, the 2/4-way valve 50 is switched over: the fresh air is then supplied via the upper air openings 48. The exhaust air is extracted through the lower air openings 46. The formation of an air curtain is favored in that the relatively cold fresh air sinks down.

The cabin 36 is also provided with an air conditioning system 62, which maintains a desired temperature in the cabin 36 regardless of the outside temperature.

The sorted out material transported by the cross conveyors 16 to 30 falls into associated container troughs 64 to 78. The rest not sorted out falls from the conveyor device into a container trough 80.
