Alternativ können auch alle drei Lagen eines dreilagigen Haushalts- oder Hygienepapiers einzeln geprägt werden. Bei vierlagigem Hygienepapier können in entsprechender Weise zwei Paare von Lagen unabhängig voneinander doppellagig geprägt und mit ihrer rauhen Seiten nach innen in Anlage gebracht werden. Es besteht aber auch die Möglichkeit, nur zwei seiner Lagen zusammen, und die beiden anderen Lagen unabhängig davon einzeln zu prägen, und nicht zuletzt alle vier Lagen einzeln geprägt sein. In Fig. 1 ist die Stahl-Gummi-Prägung einer Papierbahn 10 insbesondere aus Tissue dargestellt. Die Papierbahn durchläuft eine Prägestation, in der eine Stahlwalze 12 und eine Gummiwalze 14 gegeneinander arbeiten. Die Walzen 12, 14 sind mit paralleler Achse angeordnet, so daß sich ihre Mantelflächen berühren bzw. um weniger als die Dicke der Papierbahn voneinander beabstandet sind.Die Stahlwalze 12 hat am Außenmantel eine dem gewünschten Prägedessin entsprechende Stuktur, z. B. in Form von Noppen 16. Die Papierbahn 10 durchläuft den Zwickel der gegenläufig rotierenden Walzen 12, 14, wobei sich die Noppen 16 in ihre Oberfläche eindrücken, während die Gummiwalze 14 als weiches, elastisches Widerlager dient. Die Papierbahn 10 wird so durchgeprägt, d. h. das Prägedessin ist auf beiden Seiten sichtbar. In der Anlage gemäß Fig. 2 wird ein zweilagiges Haushalts- oder Hygienepapier mit unabhängig voneinander geprägten Lagen hergestellt. Die Anlage enthält zwei Prägestationen mit je einer prägenden Stahlwalze 12 und einer als Widerlager dienenden Gummiwalze 14. Zwei insbesondere aus Tissue bestehende Papierbahnen 10 durchlaufen die Prägestationen und werden durch geeignete Umlenkung an Walzen 22 derart zusammengeführt, daß ihre von den Gummiwalzen 14 geprägten, rauhen Seiten 20 einander zugewandt sind. Bevor die Papierbahnen 10 an einer weiteren Walze 24 miteinander in Kontakt kommen, durchlaufen sie eine elektrostatische Entladestation 26. Bei dem gezeigten Ausführungsbeispiel befindet sich die Doppellage 52 außen. Es ist aber auch möglich, daß die Doppellage einen Kern zwischen den Einzellagen 54, 56 bildet (nicht dargestellt). Die Anordnung ist in jedem Fall so, daß an den Außenseiten des Haushalts- oder Hygienepapiers durch Stahlwalzen 12 geprägte glatte Papierseiten zu liegen kommen.
