Definitions

  • the invention relates to a yarn which consists of at least one textile thread which contains metal fibers and other fibers, for example man-made fibers, the major part of the metal fibers or the total content of metal fibers being arranged in the inner cross-sectional area of the textile thread, while the outer cross-section encasing the inner cross-sectional area Cross-sectional area of the textile thread consists predominantly or exclusively of skin-compatible fibers, in particular natural and / or chemical fibers.
  • the invention also relates to the production and use of this yarn.
  • a yarn which consists of steel fibers, polyester fibers and polyamide fibers which are spun into a textile thread which either forms the thread itself or from which several such textile threads are twisted to form a thread.
  • the steel fibers, the polyester fibers and the polyamide fibers are on average evenly distributed over the cross section of the textile thread.
  • GB-A-2 018 323 and FR-A-2 599 762 yarns which contain metal only in the inner cross-sectional area, while the outer cross-sectional area is formed by textile material.
  • the metal is provided as one metal wire or as several parallel metal wires in the yarn.
  • Such metal wires have a number of disadvantages.
  • One of these disadvantages is that the yarn becomes relatively stiff, the thicker the wire and the less soft the metal used, the stronger. This stiffness makes a fabric, knitted fabric or knitted fabric made from the yarn difficult to process, physiologically not well tolerated, uncomfortable to wear and difficult to maintain.
  • Another disadvantage is that the yarn's resistance to displacement, i.e.
  • the wrap yarns according to EP-A-250 260 and GB-A-2 018 323 have the disadvantage that they have to be produced in a two-stage or multi-stage process if one wants to avoid an unfavorable yarn twist that is only one wrapping position around the inner core containing the metal wire.
  • the yarn according to FR-A-2 599 762, from which the preamble of claim 1 is based, has the disadvantage, in addition to the above disadvantages, that the resistance to displacement is particularly poor because the metal wire provided in the core has very low resistance to displacement relative to the outer sheath, which makes the yarn difficult to process, among other things.
  • the object of the invention is in particular to provide a yarn of the generic type which can be processed into a woven fabric, knitted fabric or knitted fabric which is physiologically compatible and easy to process, well portable and maintainable, and which has a wide frequency of electromagnetic radiation. and shields the intensity range.
  • the invention is intended to provide a use of the yarn according to the invention which has the advantages of this yarn, as mentioned above.
  • This use consists in the fact that the yarn is used as a woven, knitted or knitted material of protective clothing against electromagnetic radiation or interference.
  • a textile thread is used as yarn or twisted in the yarn, which has an inner cross-sectional area and an outer cross-sectional area encasing it, which have the properties specified under (a) and (b) above.
  • the inner cross-sectional area consists of a continuous filament or thread, which is helically encased by fiber strands of the outer cross-sectional area.
  • the filament or thread is intended to impart a high longitudinal tensile strength to the yarn, and the outer cross-sectional area, when using this Corespun yarn as a sewing thread, serves to shield the heat-sensitive thread against the heat generated in the thread during the machine sewing process.
  • the invention differs fundamentally both in terms of the underlying task and in terms of the solution from a Corespun yarn, because in the yarn according to the invention a high longitudinal tensile strength is neither produced by the inner cross-sectional area, nor is the outer cross-sectional area used to counteract the inner cross-sectional area To shield adverse or destructive effects from the outside.
  • the textile thread obtained with the invention can either be used directly as a yarn for the production of woven, knitted or crocheted fabrics, or it can be used with similar textile threads and / or other textile threads that do not contain metal fibers are twisted into a yarn, from which then woven, knitted or knitted fabrics are produced.
  • the invention always provides a yarn which has the above-mentioned advantages, in particular a shielding of electromagnetic fields , and further has the advantage that a fabric, knitted fabric or knitted fabric made therefrom both on the side thereof which faces the skin of a wearer and on the side facing away from the wearer's skin is easily, predictably and neatly colored lets and overall offers the user a high level of comfort and is gentle on overlying fabrics, knitted fabrics or knitted fabrics, which are manufactured in the usual way, and are easy to care for or wash.
  • the outer cross-sectional area encasing the inner cross-sectional area of the textile thread can consist of skin-compatible fibers, in particular natural and / or chemical fibers, this means in particular the case that some of the metal fibers which are in the inner cross-sectional area are "anchored", “protrude” into the outer cross-sectional area.
  • no metal fibers are used in producing the outer cross-sectional area encasing the inner cross-sectional area, although the invention is not intended to rule out the use of a small amount of metal fibers in the production of the outer cross-sectional area.
  • the yarn according to the invention can be designed such that the inner cross-sectional area of the textile thread consists exclusively of metal fibers.
  • Another embodiment of the yarn according to the invention is characterized in that the inner Cross-sectional area of the textile thread consists both of metal fibers and of other fibers, ie non-metallic non-metallic fibers, in particular chemical and / or natural fibers.
  • the yarn according to the invention can be designed such that the inner cross-sectional area of the textile thread consists of metal fibers and sweat absorbing or absorbing fibers, in particular sweat absorbing or absorbing chemical fibers.
  • the yarn according to the invention receives the first of these two structures, it can be produced in an extremely advantageous manner in a single operation, in which the fiber bundle not processed into yarn or twine or the fiber assembly not processed into yarn or twine, the or made of metal fibers alone or from metal fibers to which other fibers, in particular chemical and / or natural fibers, are added, coated with the skin-compatible fibers, in particular skin-compatible natural and / or chemical fibers, and processed into the desired yarn.
  • This particular method according to the invention enables the yarn to be produced very inexpensively in terms of manufacturing effort and thus manufacturing costs of the invention, at the same time achieving a particularly firm connection between the inner cross-sectional area and the outer cross-sectional area enveloping it.
  • the yarn according to the invention can also be produced in two basic operations, in that in the first operation a yarn or twine is formed from metal fibers alone or from metal fibers to which other fibers, in particular chemical and / or natural fibers, are added, and by in a second operation, the yarn or thread thus produced is coated and spun with skin-compatible fibers, in particular skin-compatible natural and / or chemical fibers.
  • This method is particularly advantageous if the fibers forming the outer cross-sectional area, with which the yarn forming the inner cross-sectional area or the twine forming the inner cross-sectional area is spun, are laterally scattered during the spinning, in particular essentially parallel to the yarn or twine axis, and the whole is given a torsion, that is to say, in contrast to the production of a corespun yarn, no bundle of fibers or yarn or twine is wound around, as is done in the corespun process when the filament or threading is wrapped.
  • steel fibers made of stainless steel are preferably used in the yarn according to the invention and in its production by the method according to the invention and its use as metal fibers
  • those made of other metals for example aluminum, aluminum alloys, copper, copper alloys or the like, can also be used as metal fibers. , be used.
  • All skin-compatible textile fibers can be used as skin-compatible fibers, with cotton fibers being particularly preferred as skin-compatible fibers because of their particularly good skin compatibility and cleanability, for example in washing machines, and / or wool fibers.
  • the skin-compatible fibers can also be a mixture of natural fibers and chemical fibers, for example a mixture of cotton fibers and polyester fibers.
  • the single figure of the drawing shows schematically a textile thread 1 according to the invention, the inner cross-sectional area 2 of which consists of metal fibers or contains metal fibers, while the outer cross-sectional area 3 has been produced by the inner cross-sectional area 2 being made using skin-compatible fibers, preferably exclusively using skin-compatible fibers, has been encased.
  • Fabrics, knitted fabrics or knitted fabrics made from the yarn according to the invention can be used anywhere for protective clothing where there is electromagnetic radiation of such intensity and in such a very wide frequency range that health problems arise which make it necessary or advantageous to wear such protective clothing.
  • Pacemakers can thus be inhibited by electromagnetic fields and microwave rays, ie their frequency can be influenced or even brought to a standstill if you are not wearing protective clothing that shields the pacemaker.
  • Woven, knitted or knitted material from the yarn according to the invention can be used for protective clothing of all kinds against electromagnetic radiation or interference, in particular for protective suits, overalls, two-piece suits, jackets, shirts, pullovers, hoods, gloves, shoes or the like. for military, industrial, medical and / or personal or private purposes.
  • Such protective clothing items can in particular be shirts, sweaters, T-shirts or other upper body clothing items for pacemaker wearers.
  • These protective clothing items can be used within a very wide frequency spectrum and within a very wide power density range. In particular, but by no means exclusively, protection in the HF, UHF, VHF and microwave frequency range is achieved.
