Description

The invention relates to a ski brake according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such ski brakes are known in numerous variants and have been tried and tested in practice. For example, reference is made to AT-B-384 554.

It has now been proposed several times in the past that ski bindings for damping unwanted vibrations should not be mounted directly on the ski, but on a shock absorber or spring board attached to the ski. Such a spring board is known for example from DE-A-37 12 807. Another solution (shock absorber) is disclosed in DE-A-37 09 802.

When using such spring boards, the problem arises that the brake mandrels in the active braking position of the ski brake do not protrude sufficiently below the level of the tread of the ski because of the ski's elevated mounting position in order to ensure safe braking. A simple extension of the brake mandrels by the height of the spring board does not offer a practically usable solution, since on the one hand this would further increase the total weight and on the other hand the brake pins in the ready position (driving position) of the ski brake to the rear far beyond the heel holder and the spring board, which the Risk of getting caught on obstacles and increasing the risk of injury in an unacceptable manner.

From AT-B-384 365 it is known to arrange the actuation pedal for a ski brake on a foot board above the ski, but in this known ski brake the foot board is not resiliently arranged in the height direction. This publication therefore does not provide a solution to the problem of how a ski brake can be arranged on a spring board in such a way that neither the spring movement nor the function of the ski brake are impaired.

For the sake of completeness, reference is made to DE-A-26 46 091, in which the actuation pedal and the ski brake are arranged at a distance from one another. However, in this known solution, the actuation pedal and the ski brake are spaced apart from one another in the longitudinal direction of the ski, wherein both components are mounted on the top of the ski.

The aim of the invention is to develop a ski brake of the type mentioned in such a way that a reliable braking of the ski after (arbitrary or fall-related) removal of the ski boot from the binding is guaranteed even if the ski binding is not directly on the top of the Ski, but at a distance from it on a plate movable in the height direction relative to the ski, for example on a spring board.

The object is achieved according to the invention by the characterizing features of claim 1.

This special arrangement of the ski brake ensures that the brake pins always protrude sufficiently far below the tread of the ski in the braking position regardless of the distance of the ski binding to the top of the ski due to the spring board, so that a reliable braking effect can always be achieved.

Further developments of the invention are characterized in the subclaims.

In itself, the idea of using a pulling device to actuate a ski brake is already known, as is shown, for example, by DE-A-26 00 850. However, the solution disclosed there can only be used if the actuating pedal and braking element do not change their position relative to one another. Characterized in that, according to claim 2, a Bowden cable is used, wherein the jacket of the Bowden cable is supported at its two end sections by means of two brackets, one of which is attached to the ski and the other to the spring board, and that the Bowden cable with engages its first end section on the actuator and with its other end section on a load arm of the actuating pedal, it is achieved in a particularly favorable and reliable manner that the relative movement between the spring board and the ski has no effect on the function of the ski brake.

The variant characterized in claim 3 is particularly simple and robust.

It is achieved in a particularly simple manner by the features of claim 4 that the side walls of the actuating pedal are in constant connection with the actuating member of the wire brake arms even with a relative movement between the spring board and the ski.

The features, advantages and details of the ski brake according to the invention will now be described with reference to the drawing. 1 to 4 show a first embodiment of the ski brake according to the invention, the ski brake in FIGS. 1 to 3 being shown in a side view and in FIG. 4 partly in section along the line IV-IV in FIG. Figures 5 and 6 show a second embodiment.

In the following description of the figures, components that remain the same in the various exemplary embodiments are designated with the same reference numbers.

In Fig. 1, a spring board 2 known per se and therefore not described in more detail is attached to a ski 1 by means of a joint mechanism 3. 4 with a spring is designated, which is designed in this embodiment as an air spring; it would of course also be possible to use a leaf spring, a coil spring or other spring means, such as a plate or a block made of a material with resilient properties (plastic, rubber). A heel holder 5 of any known type is mounted on the spring board 2.

On the ski 1, two bearing points 6 for a wire brake arm 7 are also attached. The wire brake arms 7 consist of multi-curved spring wire and are designed symmetrically. The free ends of the wire brake arms 7 are designed as brake mandrels 8 and can, for example, be provided with a plastic coating, not shown here. The wire brake arms 7 have an actuating member 9 and are acted upon by a positioning spring 10 in the direction of the active braking position of the ski brake. The design of such wire brake arms and bearing points is familiar to the person skilled in the art, therefore does not form part of the subject matter of the invention and is not described in more detail. On a crosspiece 25 the actuator 9 engages a first end portion 13 of a cable 12 of a Bowden cable 11. The jacket 15 of the Bowden cable 11 is attached with its first end section 16 to a ski-fixed bracket 18.

The second end portion 14 of the cable 12 of the Bowden cable 11 facing away from the actuating element 9 is fastened to a load arm 21 of an actuating pedal 19 designed as a two-armed lever, the force arm of which is designed as a tread plate 20. The actuation pedal 19 is articulated on a transverse axis 23 which is arranged in a further bearing point 22. In this exemplary embodiment, the further bearing point 22 is formed directly on the heel holder 5. A second bracket 24 for a second end section 17 of the jacket 15 of the Bowden cable 11 is also provided on the spring board 2.

As can be seen in Fig. 2, the treading of the footplate 20 of the actuating pedal 19 leads to the fact that the load arm 21 is pivoted up and the actuating member 9 is thereby pulled towards the ski-fixed abutment 18 by means of the Bowden cable 11. As a result, the brake mandrels 8 are pivoted up into the ready position.

In Fig. 3 it can be seen that a spring or rocking of the spring board 2 is possible without hindrance from the ski brake.

The bearing point 6, the wire brake arms 7 and the positioning spring 10 are designed essentially as in the first exemplary embodiment. The actuator 9a is bow-shaped with a crossbar 25a. The further bearing points 22a for the transverse axis 23a are mounted in front of the heel holder 5 at a distance from it on the spring board 2. As in the first exemplary embodiment, the operating pedal 19a is provided with a step plate 20a. The actuating pedal 19a has downwardly directed side walls 26 with lower boundary surfaces 27. The side walls 26 are approximately sector-shaped in the side view, their portion adjacent to the transverse axis 23a being rounded. The lower boundary surfaces 27 of the actuating pedal 19a act due to their support on the transverse web 25a of the actuating member 9a and press this when the tread plate 20a is depressed in the direction of the top of the ski 1. As before, the brake mandrels 8 are pivoted upwards into the ready position. During a rocking movement of the spring board 2, the lower boundary surfaces 27 of the actuating pedal 19a can push the transverse web 25a of the actuating member 9a further down without the spring movement of the spring board 2 being impeded.

It would be possible, without leaving the scope of the scope of protection, even with a solution similar to the first embodiment, to arrange or design the bearing point for the transverse axis of the actuating pedal directly on or in the spring board. It would also be possible to provide a separate component for the crossbar of the actuating member or to form it in two parts. In the latter solution, two symmetrically designed Bowden cables with the corresponding abutments might have to be provided for each ski brake.
