Definitions

  • the invention relates to a detonator of a bomblet projectile, with an axially displaceable ignition needle and a slide with detonator charge which can be displaced transversely to the longitudinal direction of the projectile or central axis, and with swirl brake vanes which are pivotably mounted on the outside of the detonator housing.
  • Bomblet levels are submunition levels or daughter levels, which in large numbers, e.g. B. 63 pieces, transported from a large-caliber carrier floor over distances of up to 30 km over a target area and there at an altitude of z. B. ejected 300 m and mechanically set when falling.
  • the bomb detonator has a firing pin with a screw mechanism, which is screwed in when secured and thereby engages in a recess in the detonator carrier and prevents it from moving sideways into the arming position.
  • the outer end piece of the screwed-in firing needle facing away from the detonator carrier is connected to a stabilizing loop which unfolds after the bomblet has been ejected from the basement and exerts a torque on the screwed-in firing needle due to the attacking air resistance.
  • the detonator carrier After unscrewing the ignition needle, the detonator carrier can move into its focus position by centrifugal force and the detonator is unlocked and focused.
  • the arrangement of the locking pin on the slide which is prevented or prevented from moving by a swung-out brake wing that is not folded out, provides an additional means of securing the bomb detonator, which is independent of the unlocking process of the ignition needle, using simple but effective means.
  • This is on the Arranged on the inside of the swirl brake wing is a retaining lug, which holds the slide in the securing position when the swirl brake wing is folded in. Only when the swirl brake wing has exceeded an opening angle of at least 15 °, the locking pin or the slide is released.
  • the swirl brake wing can only carry out this opening process when it is in turn released by the outer securing band; However, this can only take place after the ejection from the carrier floor, so that a further securing possibility of the slide is given regardless of the torque acting on the stabilizing band or the time period in which the firing needle is unscrewed.
  • the swirl brake blades do not have a fixed housing stop, but rather, depending on the rotation of the bomblet or the centrifugal force and the opposing inflow air, flexibly swivel up and brake the self-twist of the bomblet "gently" but effectively, the bomblet does not experience an oscillation due to a previous jerky opening the swirl brake wing; this reduces the number of bomblets that are so inclined or tilted during the service that the service function fails because the component of the service impulse acting in the direction of the firing pin axis is too small.
  • the position of the safety pin 62 outside the detonator housing means that the condition of the bomb detonator can be visually recognized and thus a safety assessment possible.
  • the reference number 10 denotes an igniter housing, which is fixed on a bomblet housing 12 by means of a retaining ring 14.
  • a slide 16 Arranged within the detonator housing 10 is a slide 16 with detonator charge 18 which can be displaced transversely to the central axis A of the bomblet floor.
  • the illustration shows the slide 16 in the securing position, the detonator charge 18 being shifted laterally out of the straight line between a main firing needle 20 and an amplifier charge 22 arranged in the upper bomblet housing 12 in order to ignite the main explosive charge 24.
  • the centrally arranged main firing needle 20 is connected via a screw connection to a sleeve 26, which serves as an additional impact mass and can be displaced axially in the igniter housing 10.
  • the firing needle 20 is screwed into the sleeve 26, so that it is supported upwards or backwards against a shoulder of the igniter housing 10.
  • the tip 28 of the main firing needle 20 protrudes into a recess (blind hole) arranged on the top of the slide 16 and thus fixes the slide 16 in the securing position.
  • a folded stabilizing loop 30 is attached to the end of the main firing needle 20 protruding from the igniter housing 10.
  • a retaining bolt 66 Surrounding the outside of the detonator housing 10 and the upper reduced-diameter area of the detonator housing 10 are each on a retaining bolt 66 two radially outwardly pivotable, semicircularly curved swirl brake vanes 32, z. B. made of thin sheet steel.
  • a securing band 34 is wound around the swirl brake vanes 32 folded in.
  • the securing strap 34 and the stabilizing loop 30 are held in their wound position by an overturned hood-like, two-part plastic securing shell 36, which in turn is held in position by a spring steel locking ring 38.
  • the daughter floors are stacked inside one another as columns in a space-saving manner.
  • Such a neighboring bomb 60 which completely covers the detonator housing 10, is indicated in FIG.
  • the detonator housing 10 extends far into the conical free space of the shaped charge insert of the adjacent bomblet 60.
  • the stabilization loop 30 is pulled out of its folded-in rest position and unfolded.
  • the two securing shells 36 with securing ring 38 detach from the igniter housing 10 and release the securing tape 34.
  • the detachable securing band 34 unwinds and releases the swirl brake blades 32, which swivel out due to the centrifugal forces caused by the rotation and reduce the swirl of the now stabilized falling bomblet projectile.
  • a torque acts on the firing needle 20, which unscrews a little to the rear from the sleeve 26, the tip 28 of the firing needle 20 lifts out of the recess in the slide 16 and the slide can be - if it is released for this by additional securing means acting separately - move it into its focusing position and is therefore in focus for a strike ignition.
  • FIG. 1 A locking pin 62 running parallel to the central axis A is arranged vertically on the slide 16.
  • an opening 64 is provided in the igniter housing 10, so that the securing pin 62 assumes a position inside the igniter housing 10 when the slide is in the locked position and an end position outside the igniter housing 10 after the slide 16 has been moved into focus.
  • the locking pin 62 is in the locked position of the slider 16 with an unfolded swirl brake wing 32 in operative connection, so that the slider 16 can be locked in its locked position.
  • the swirl brake wing 32 expediently has an inward-pointing projection 68 which, when the swirl brake wing 32 is not extended, is in contact with the locking pin 62 and overlaps or blocks it in a locking manner.
  • FIG. 3 shows a plan view of the igniter housing 10 with a broken line of the swirl brake vanes 32 that have been folded out, with the securing band, stabilizing loop and securing clip being omitted.
  • At least two swirl brake vanes 32 are pivoted on the right side on a bomblet projectile fired with a right-hand swirl or pivoted on the left side of a bomblet projectile fired with a left-hand swirl on the detonator housing 10 on retaining bolts 66 such that they are pivotable transversely to the longitudinal axis of the projectile or central axis A, and can be pivoted counter to the rotation-induced air flow direction 74 are.
  • the direction of rotation 72 of the bomblet projectile, the direction of air flow 74 and the opposite pivoting direction 76 of the swirl brake blades 32 are shown with arrows.
  • the projection 68 can expediently be formed on the inside of the swirl brake wing 32 as a bracket 70 fastened on both sides.
  • a z. B. environmental loosening of the locking band to ensure the locking of the slide is provided that the locking of the locking pin 62 and the slider 16 can only be canceled after pivoting of the swirl brake wing with projection 68 or 70 by an angle of at least 15 °.
  • the slide 16 can move into the focusing position by centrifugal force and / or spring force. Then the locking pin 62 is in the position shown in dashed lines outside the igniter housing 10.
