Description

The invention relates to a display device according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such a display device is known from DE-A-33 00 250. In this device, a part serving as a display element is coupled to a membrane acted upon by the differential pressure occurring on the vacuum cleaner filter bag. The display element is thus adjusted according to the deflection of the membrane. In order to block the display element in the display position reached in each case, a wedge which can be adjusted by spring force is arranged displaceably in the housing of the device and, when the display element is correspondingly adjusted, is pushed under the end of an axle piece connected to the display element. After a reduction in the pressure difference, the display element thus remains in the position previously reached with a larger pressure difference. With an increasing degree of filling of the filter bag, the pressure difference that arises is correspondingly larger and the display element is adjusted further and further through the membrane until it finally passes through a slit membrane and can then be perceived from the outside. This is then the signal for a necessary change of the filter bag.

To improve the filter effect, it is known (DE-B-24 54 748) to pass the suction air emerging from the filter bag again through a secondary filter. In order to obtain the full filter effect, the contamination of such a post-filter must be checked from time to time and the post-filter replaced if necessary.

Two possible constructions of display devices which signal the filter change are described in documents DE-A-360 ll73 and US-A-2ll7368.

The object of the invention is to signal the necessary change of a post-filter provided in the vacuum cleaner by means of a display device reporting the degree of contamination of the filter bag.

This object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1. By positioning the actuator on the blocking element coupled to the adjusting element, it is achieved that a display element coupled to the actuator has a clear starting position after changing the vacuum cleaner filter bag, i.e. Assumes zero position. By appropriate dimensioning of the effective length of the start stop in relation to a certain degree of contamination of the secondary filter, i.e. The change in the degree of contamination, which makes it advisable to change the post-filter, is achieved in that after an exchange of the vacuum cleaner filter bag, the display device does not assume the starting position the next time the filter bag is replaced, if the post-filter has reached or exceeded the predetermined degree of contamination. In this case, the pressure difference occurring at the adjusting member of the display device is so great that the adjustment of the blocking member is greater than the effective length of the start stop, so that the actuator of the display element is immediately released for a display movement. For the user of the vacuum cleaner, this is the signal that a change of the post-filter is necessary in order to achieve the desired good filter effect on the one hand and to avoid a reduction in the suction power of the vacuum cleaner on the other hand.

Constructively advantageous embodiments of the display device are described in the subclaims. It is particularly advantageous to provide a diaphragm clamped in a diaphragm housing as the adjusting element. The display characteristic of the device can be influenced by the design of the outer contour of the actuator of the display element. The need to change the secondary filter is particularly clear Signaling display jump of the display element compared to its starting position is achieved by the features of claim 7. Due to the parallel course of the outer contour of the actuator in the first axial region, the display element is jumped relative to the starting position in accordance with the length of the parallel course. This is a particularly clear signal for the user of the vacuum cleaner.

  • FIG l eine Prinzipdarstellung einer Ausführungsform einer Anzeigevorrichtung;
The subject of the application is described in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing. It shows:
  • 1 shows a basic illustration of an embodiment of a display device;
  • 2 shows a schematic diagram of a further embodiment of a display device.

With the housing consisting of an upper and lower housing parts 2 and 3 of a display device, which can be installed in the housing of a vacuum cleaner, is designated. A membrane 4 is clamped between the two housing parts 2 and 3, with which a blocking element 5 is firmly connected. The blocking element 5 protrudes into the adjustment path of an actuator 8 which is movably guided at two bearings 6 and 7 in the upper housing part 2. The actuator 8 is driven by one end 9 of the actuator 8 and the other end l0 of the housing wall of the actuator 8 upper housing part 2 attached tension spring ll. In an analogous manner, the actuator could also be driven by a compression spring.

Via connecting pieces l2 and l3, the subspaces l4 and l5, each delimited by the two housing parts 2 and 3 and the membrane 4, can be subjected to different pressures. Thus, the upper sub-space l4 delimited by the upper housing part 2 and the membrane 4 is connected via the connecting piece l2 with the ambient pressure or with the pressure prevailing immediately in front of a vacuum cleaner filter bag used in the dust chamber of a vacuum cleaner. On the other hand, the pressure that prevails behind a post-filter, which is connected downstream of the vacuum cleaner filter bag with respect to the direction of flow of the suction air, is supplied via the connecting piece l3 to the lower subspace l5 enclosed by the lower housing part 3 and the membrane 4. The membrane 4 is thus directed towards the lower sub-space l5 in accordance with the pressure difference between the pressure prevailing in front of the vacuum cleaner filter bag and the pressure behind the post-filter of a vacuum cleaner.

As can be seen from the illustration in FIGS. 1 and 2, the actuator 8 has a stop edge 16 which forms a start stop. The force of the tension spring 11 causes the actuator 8 to rest against the blocking element 5 with its stop edge l6. According to the representation in FIG. 1, the outer contour of the actuator 8 follows the stop edge l6 with respect to the axis l7 of the actuator 8 lying in the direction of the display movement (arrow 25) in a line l8 continuously increasing towards the outside.

In the embodiment of the display device shown in FIG. 2, the outer contour of the actuator 8 initially runs parallel to the axis l7 of the actuator 8 in a first axial region l9 adjoining the stop edge l6. The outer contour of the actuator runs in the second axial region 20 adjoining the first axial region l9 8 then again in a line l8 continuously increasing towards the outside.

In order to obtain a necessary signal for the change of the secondary filter via the display device when the post-filter reaches a certain degree of contamination, the height 2l, ie the effective length of the stop edge l6, must be dimensioned accordingly. The height 2l of the stop edge is therefore chosen so that it corresponds to the deflection of the membrane 4 and thus the corresponding adjustment of the blocking element 5, which results from the prevailing pressure difference due to the unfilled, ie new, vacuum cleaner filter bag, and a degree of contamination of the secondary filter, which makes it seem necessary to replace it. Since after a replacement of the vacuum cleaner filter bag, the pressure drop in the suction air flow caused by the contamination of the secondary filter acts on the display device by itself, this can be used to indicate the necessary replacement of the secondary filter.

The display device operates as follows: As already mentioned, the upper subspace 14 is supplied with the ambient pressure or the pressure prevailing immediately in front of a filter bag inserted in the dust area of a vacuum cleaner. Since the lower sub-chamber l5 is acted upon by the low pressure prevailing behind the post-filter of a vacuum cleaner, the pressure difference between the two sub-chambers l4 and l5 causes the diaphragm 4 to deflect toward the lower sub-chamber l5. As a result, the blocking element 5 coupled to the membrane 4 is also moved accordingly.

In the starting position 22, which is displayed on a scale 24, for example via a pointer 23 connected to the actuator 8 as a display element, the actuator 8 bears against the blocking element 5 with its stop edge 16 under the force of the tension spring 11. If the vacuum cleaner filter bag and / or secondary filter is not yet dirty, the display device initially remains in this starting position 22 until a pressure difference arises due to increasing contamination of the filter bag and secondary filter, by means of which the membrane 4 is deflected by a distance corresponding to the height 2l of the stop edge 16. Thereby the blocking element 5 is pulled away in front of the stop edge l6. This blocks the start blocking of the actuator 8 and this can now be moved by the tension spring 11 in the display direction indicated by an arrow 25 until its outer contour (line 18) abuts the end face 26 of the blocking element 5. The corresponding movement of the actuator 8 is indicated on the scale 24 via the pointer 23 coupled to the actuator 8. The force of the tension spring 11 and the steepness of the outer contour, ie the line 18, are coordinated with one another with regard to the friction existing between the blocking element 5 and the actuator 8 in such a way that no effects on the deflection of the diaphragm 4 occur.

With increasing filling of the filter bag and increasing contamination of the secondary filter, the pressure difference increases, so that the membrane 4 is deflected more and more. As a result, the actuator 8 is released for its display movement. The pointer 23 thereby moves further in the display area 27 of the scale 24. Since there is self-locking between the blocking element 5 and the actuator 8, the pointer 23 remains even when the pressure difference disappears, i.e. in idle mode of the vacuum cleaner, in the position reached so that the degree of contamination of the filter used in the vacuum cleaner and thus the corresponding loss of suction power of the vacuum cleaner can be seen at any time.

Has the post-filter reached the predetermined degree of contamination, the operation of the vacuum cleaner after replacing a filled filter bag with a new filter bag, the pressure difference due to the contamination of the post-filter will be so great that the membrane 4 immediately after changing the filter bag by one height 2l the distance corresponding to the stop edge l6 is deflected. The pointer 23 of the display device therefore immediately leaves its starting position during a suction operation following the change of the filter bag 22 and moves immediately into the display area 27 of the scale 24. This is the sign for the user that the post-filter has reached or exceeded the permissible degree of contamination and a change is advisable.

The embodiment of the actuator 8 for the pointer 23 shown in FIG. 2 achieves a more noticeable, abrupt display movement of the pointer 23 when an exchange of the post-filter is signaled. This results from the parallel course of the outer contour of the actuator 8 in the first axial region l9 adjoining the stop edge l6. If the blocking element 5 is deflected by the height 2l of the stop edge l6 at the corresponding pressure difference, the actuator 8 can be adjusted in the direction of arrow 25 by the length of the parallel profile of the outer contour. Thus, the pointer 23 jumps from its starting position 22 to the display area 27 of the scale 24 which is offset from the starting position 22. Thereafter, as in the embodiment of the actuator 8 shown in FIG .

When changing the filter bag, the actuator 8 must be returned to its starting position against the force of the tension spring II. Such a reset can expediently take place via a reset device actuated when the dust chamber cover is opened. This ensures that a reset when changing the filter is not overlooked.
