Description

The invention relates to a housing according to the preamble of the main claim. From DE-Al 32 46 048 a housing for accommodating devices for oral and dental care is already known, which has an interior which accommodates a removable insert. A number of chambers are provided in the insert for receiving the devices. An element which can be pivoted from a dust protection position into an open position about an axis of rotation serves to protect the devices against contamination. However, this known housing has several disadvantages.

Due to the fact that the pivotable element is designed as a hood open towards the front, the devices housed in the insert are only insufficiently protected against contamination. In particular, in cases where the housing is attached to the wall of the bathroom, the devices are difficult to remove, especially for small people, for example children. In addition, the color markings usually attached to the devices to distinguish between the individual, essentially identical-looking devices, but which are intended for different users, are difficult to identify, so that the wrong device is generally removed from the insert. Furthermore, the housing and the insert are not particularly suitable for cleaning by hand. There is no provision for the water to drip off after use, for example from a plug-on brush for an electric toothbrush or a spray nozzle of an electric oral irrigator. Likewise, there is no air circulation through the interior of the housing and the use to favor the drying process of the toothbrushes. Finally, the known housing lacks a closed, pleasing and functional shape that appeals to the aesthetic feeling of the user.

Another housing is known from DE-Al 33 12 451, in which the devices for oral and dental care are used in receiving openings in a base plate of the housing. The devices are not only exposed to external dirt unprotected, but in turn contaminate the surface of the housing by dripping water, which is mixed, for example, with oral care products or toothpaste.

No. 2,209,091 discloses a box for holding tools, make-up or the like, which has a hinged lid and an inner insert. The inner insert is connected to the lid and the box via two articulated connections and, when the lid is opened, essentially performs a pivoting movement with a superimposed, slight lifting movement. This ensures that when the lid is open, the user of the box can also remove from the box the parts below the insert which the insert essentially covers when the lid is closed. The insert is firmly connected to the box and the cover via articulated connections and cannot be removed easily. A guidance of the insert in the box is not provided and also not meaningful for the application purposes described there, since the space of the box located under the insert should be accessible to the user.

Finally, DE-Al 26 53 494 shows a device for oral hygiene, in which the spray nozzles are arranged upright and in a correspondingly unprotected manner in corresponding recesses in a side wall region of the housing. Due to the special construction, this housing is very difficult to clean, the devices for oral and dental care are contaminated by external influences exposed virtually unprotected. The design of this housing also does not meet the requirements for functionality combined with a pleasing appearance.

The invention has for its object to develop known housing for receiving devices for oral and dental care as follows:

The devices should be largely protected against contamination by external influences, but should still be easily recognizable and accessible when removed. The housing should have a closed and pleasing structure and the insert should be easy to clean. This object is achieved by a housing with the features of the main claim. Due to the features specified in the subclaims, further disadvantages of known housings are avoided.

Characterized in that the element is designed as a substantially flat housing cover, which covers the interior in the dust protection position and that the element and the insert are connected via at least one lever gear, the lever gear the Converting the pivoting movement of the element into a lifting movement of the insert, the devices stored in the insert are very well protected against contamination in the dust protection position of the element. In the open position of the element, the insert is partially moved out of the interior of the housing via the lever mechanism, so that the devices which partially protrude from the insert are very clearly visible and tangible. The housing has a closed, pleasing structure and explains its function by itself. The fact that the lever gear consists of a lever arm arranged on the element, which is connected to a lever on the straight insert in the housing, simple, constructive means for realizing the Lever gear specified. The lever arm arranged on the element performs a pivoting movement when the element is opened or closed, which is converted into a lifting movement of the insert via a connection with a lever on the straight guided insert. Due to the fact that the lever arm is arranged in the region of the half of the housing cover facing the axis of rotation above the axis of rotation, the devices are easily accessible in use when the element is in the open position. The measure of designing the lever arm as a part-circular wall in particular, the end of which facing away from the element is penetrated by a cylindrical pin, gives the lever arm the required stability and nevertheless makes the housing cover produced by injection molding possible by means of simple injection molds. It proves advantageous that a support wall is provided at the head end of the insert in a central area between the chambers, which has two slot-like incisions lying opposite one another over a partial area. This measure enables a simple connection between the element and the insert. The configuration of providing the insert with four chambers, two chambers directly adjoining each other as a group of two via a central wall and the two groups of two through a gap separate, offers the advantage of a closed, elegant construction of the insert and at the same time provides the necessary freedom of movement for the lever arm. The fact that the support wall rests non-positively on the pin provides a very simple connection between the element and the insert. The upward movement when the element is opened is brought about by the lever arm arranged on the element and engaging under the support wall, the downward movement is preferably carried out without the use of a positive or positive connection due to the influence of gravity. The measure of making the insert open below the carrier wall on the edge and bottom side enables the insert to be easily removed from the housing, for example for cleaning purposes. Because the insert has openings in a bottom region of the chambers, the drying process of the devices for oral and dental care is favored for the purpose of hygienic storage insofar as liquid adhering to these devices can leave the respective chamber after use. The fact that the housing has an opening in the bottom region of a housing wall, with an inclined plane with an inclination pointing towards the opening being arranged above the height of the opening in the interior, the water dripping from the chambers is led out of the housing and leads no impairment of the function of any further, in particular electrical, elements arranged in the housing. In addition, a housing designed in this way is extremely easy to clean. Finally, in conjunction with the measure of providing at least one narrow slot between the element in the dust protection position and the housing side walls, this ensures optimal air circulation through the opening in the housing wall, the openings in the bottom region of the chambers and the slot between the element and the housing side walls , which significantly facilitates drying of the devices in the chambers.

The devices are generally marked with a color ring 62 in order to make it easier to distinguish between several, otherwise, for example, identical toothbrush attachments, so that unintentional mix-ups are excluded. The housing 10, which is open toward the head end, is provided with an element 20 which, in the present exemplary embodiment, is designed as an essentially flat housing cover. This element 20 can be pivoted about an axis of rotation 32 from a dust protection position 22 (FIG. 1) to an open position 24 (FIG. 2). A lever arm 26 is provided on the element 20 in a region above the axis of rotation 32. This lever arm 26 stands as a partially circular wall perpendicular to the element 20 and has at its end facing away from the element 20 a cylindrical pin 34, the longitudinal axis of which runs parallel to the axis of rotation 32. The part-circular wall of the lever arm 26 extends through a slot-like incision 40 in a support wall 38, which is provided at a head end of the insert 16 between the chambers 18. An underside of the carrier wall 38 lies on the pin 34. The slotted area of the support wall 38 forms a lever 28 which is in a non-positive connection with the lever arm 26, so that the lever arm 26 and the lever 28 act as a lever mechanism 30 as a whole. Of course, it is also possible and in certain cases advantageous to provide two lever gears 30 which are then arranged in particular in the two side areas of element 20 and insert 16. In particular for a use that is not square in cross section, but rather rectangular, in which all devices are housed in a row 18, the use of two lever drives 30 has proven to be useful.

If the element 20 is pivoted from the dust protection position 22 into the open position 24 about the axis of rotation 32, then the Pin 34 an arcuate trajectory. This circular trajectory of the pin 34 is converted into a linear movement, in particular into a vertical lifting movement of the insert 16 which is guided in the housing 10 in a straight line, the pin 34 sliding along the underside of the carrier wall 38 in the horizontal direction. In the open position 24, the insert 16 protrudes to a certain extent from the interior 14 of the housing 10. Since the chambers 18 of the insert 16 have a smaller depth than the devices stored in them, the devices or the colored rings 62 can be easily recognized by the user and easily removed after the element 20 has been opened. In the dust protection position 22 of the element 20, the entire housing 10 forms a closed, elegant unit, the devices stored in the chambers 18 being completely protected against external contamination. By means of latching means 56, the element 20 in the open position 24 can optionally be fixed or ascertained.

The support wall arranged in the middle region 36 between the chambers 18 in the case of using only a single lever mechanism 30 has two slot-like incisions 40 lying opposite one another over a partial region. In fact, only one of the incisions is connected to the lever arm 26, but the second incision 40 comes into play when the insert 16 is inserted into the housing 10 after being removed from the housing 10 and rotated through 180 ° about its longitudinal axis.

So that the insert 16 can be easily removed for cleaning, for example, the insert 16 is designed to be open below the carrier wall 38 on the edge and bottom sides. In particular, the insert 16 has four chambers 18, two chambers directly adjoining each other via a central wall 52 as groups of two, and the two groups of two being separated by a gap 54. When inserting of the insert 16 into the interior 14 of the housing, the lever arm 26 including the pin 34 is passed through the entire length of the gap 54 until the part-circular wall of the lever arm 26 passes through the incision 40 and the support wall 38 comes to rest on the pin 34.

When the element 20 is closed, the pin 34 executes a retrograde movement on its circular path, which the insert 16 immediately follows due to the influence of gravity. Of course, a forced downward movement is also conceivable. In the dust protection position 22 of the element 20, the insert 16 is held either by the pin 34 or by abutments 64 arranged on the inner walls of the housing 10.

Openings 44 are provided in the bottom areas 42 of the chambers 18 of the insert 16, which allow liquid to drain or drip from the devices used. An opening 48 is provided in a lower section in a housing wall 46, preferably in a rear wall of the housing, with a wall being arranged as an inclined plane 50 below the insert 16 over at least the height of the opening 48 in the interior 14 of the housing 10. The liquid dripping from the insert 16 falls on the inclined plane 50, which is inclined towards the opening 48, and flows out of the housing 10 via this inclined plane 50. Through the larger opening 48, this inclined plane 50 is easy to clean, if necessary at all.

The element 20 is in the dust protection position 22 not hermetically sealed on the upper edge of the housing 10, so that narrow slots 58 are present between the lower edge of the element 20 and the upper edge of the housing, the width of which can be varied by recesses in the housing side walls. By these slots 58 are provided in connection with the opening 48 and the openings 44 for sufficient air circulation which favors the drying process of the devices stored in use. Due to the small width of the slots 58, contamination of the devices by external influences is not promoted.

The invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiment described, other embodiments are conceivable, for example one or more lever gears or the insert. For example, the lever arm or arms 26 can be rod-shaped and articulated to the element 20. When the element 20 is folded up into the open position 24, the lever arm or arms rest against the underside of the element 20. Rack drives or the like do not lead out of the scope of the invention. Of course, the design of the insert 16 can also be varied and adapted to the gear used.
