Claims (10)

1. A gathered curtain with a suspension and winding means, the said winding means having a rotatably driven winding shaft (2) on which a plurality of winding rollers (3) are disposed in a spaced apart relationship, characterised in that in each case the axis of the winding roller (3) extends substantially horizontally and transversely to the axis of the winding shaft (2), a gear mechanism (4, 5) being provided to connect the winding shaft (2) to the winding roller (3) and in that the winding roller (3) is rotatably mounted in a holder (13) which is to be fixed on a curtain rail (1), on the window or on a wall.
2. A gathered curtain according to Claim 1, characterised in that at least one gear mechanism (4, 5) is a self-locking worm gear mechanism.
3. A gathered curtain according to Claim 2, characterised in that the worm gear mechanism has a transmission ratio which is so chosen that together with the friction of the winding means it produces a self-locking actuation of the curtain.
4. A gathered curtain according to Claim 3, characterised in that the transmission ratio amounts to about 3 - 5 and preferably 4.2 and in that the gear mechanism is made from synthetic plastics material, the worm wheel (4) being preferably of Delrin while the worm (5) is of nylon.
5. A gathered curtain according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the gear mechanism is disposed in the housing (13, 14, 15) which is separably fixed on a profile rail (1) disposed parallel with the winding shaft (2).
6. A gathered curtain according to Claim 5, characterised in that the worm wheel (4) is mounted to rotate in a housing part (13) which subdivides the housing into two chambers, the worm (5) being accommodated in one chamber while the winding roller (3) is accommodated in the other chamber.
7. A gathered curtain according to Claim 6, characterised in that the chamber with the winding roller (3) is closed by a cover (15), the cover (15) having on its inside a projection (22) which engages a recess (23) in and guides the winding roller (3).
8. A gathered curtain according to one of Claims 2 to 7, characterised in that the winding roller (3) is integrally formed on the worm wheel (4).
9. A gathered curtain according to Claim 1, characterised in that the winding shaft (2) is connected to a driving member (10) through a self-locking gear mechanism.
10 A gathered curtain according to Claim 9, characterised in that the driving member (10) drives a driving wheel (12) the rotary spindle of which is mounted at right-angles to the winding shaft (2).
