Description

The invention relates to a burner unit, in particular for a stove, hot air heating and / or for hot water preparation on yachts, in caravans, mobile homes, times or the like, with a fuel supply via a line which is connected to a fuel tank, in which is at least one shut-off device for the fuel, followed by a nozzle or the like.

Yachts, caravans, mobile homes or similar facilities are now equipped with easily transportable heat generation systems in a variety of forms. Not only entire cooking facilities are included, but also heating systems and hot water preparation systems, for example for shower cubicles. All of these heat generation systems require burners which work with gas, petroleum, diesel oil or the like. The gas, which is highly flammable and for which starting the burner is therefore not a problem, has since been abandoned, since the gas entails many dangers. Not only the unintentional escape of gas, but also the use of gas cylinders in warm countries has claimed many victims in the past. In addition to the actual fuel for the operation of the yacht, the motor home or a towing device, an additional container for the fuel for the heat generation system must be carried with it.

Therefore, the burners used today for the above are usually Facilities operated with petroleum or diesel fuel. So that the burner starts up, however, a preheating bowl is required, into which an easily flammable substance, for example methylated spirit, is poured and ignited before the actual fuel is fed. When this substance has almost burned down and the preheating tray has warmed up sufficiently, the feed line for the actual fuel is opened. However, the determination of the point in time at which the fuel is supplied harbors a great deal of uncertainty, so that the ignition process must often be repeated. However, if more alcohol is added to an already preheated preheating pan, this can ignite explosively and lead to burns.

Furthermore, from DE-A 28 08 918 a burner device is known which is connected to a fuel tank via a line in which there is at least one shut-off element for the fuel. In the operation of this evaporation burner, gas in the liquid state is fed through the supply line to coils which serve as evaporation spaces. In the gaseous state, the fuel flows out of the pipe coil packages via a discharge line with the control valve open into a distributor pipe, from which the fuel flows through nozzles in combustion chambers. Here, a gas in the liquid state is used, which is brought back into the gaseous state in evaporation rooms. It is not possible to operate this burner with liquid fuel. Gaseous fuels, however, involve considerable dangers because they are much easier to ignite explosively.

The inventor has set himself the goal of developing a device of the type mentioned above using a fuel can be, which is already used otherwise for transport or the movement of the device and is relatively safe to use and which also ignites the fuel safely, safely and automatically.

To achieve this object, at least one heating device is applied to the line in front of the shut-off device, the fuel evaporating before ignition and means for switching off the heating system after ignition are available.

If a fuel, such as petroleum, diesel oil or the like, is in the line in front of the shut-off element, the heat will at least partially bring it into a gaseous state in which the fuel is highly flammable. The gas collects below the shut-off element, the liquid fuel being at least partially pushed back into the tank. After opening the shut-off device, the gas that is more easily ignited primarily escapes and can then preheat the elements surrounding the nozzle. The liquid fuel following the gas then continues the activity of the burner unimpeded.

In the context of the invention, the application of the heating device should also be understood to mean that the heating device itself can be arranged in the feed line. However, handling them, for example when replacing them, is then more difficult.

The line parts which are brought into contact with the heating device should in any case consist of a highly thermally conductive material, for example of a metal.

The smaller the diameter of the line which contains the fuel to be heated, the faster the heating takes place. It has therefore proven advantageous to split the actual main line, which is usually also a flexible hose, into branch lines of smaller diameter, the latter being made as part of the burner and made of metal. The heating device then also connects to this branch line.

In order to prevent the burner from becoming too large due to the branch line and to ensure that the fuel to be preheated even during the burner's actual activity after the start-up phase, parts become the branch line, namely led cross branches near the firing zone.

As soon as the gas escapes from the nozzle, it can be matched or the like. be ignited. However, an automatically operating ignition system is preferred which best generates an intermittent ignition spark. Here, for example, a spark plug is sufficient, which is fixed near the nozzle and is connected to a battery of the towing vehicle or engine.

Suitable burners for the present invention are considered to be those which are already available on the market and in which the branch lines hold or carry a preheating shell in which a flame distributor is seated. Such burners already have suitable shut-off devices and nozzles, so that only the heating device has to be applied and the ignition system has to be assigned.

In a further improved exemplary embodiment, the ignition system is controlled via the temperature or the time of preheating.

The burner according to the invention can now work very effectively with fuels already carried or with fuels that are relatively harmless in the normal state of aggregation. Ignition takes place fully automatically, only the shut-off valve has to be opened. However, this can also be done by controlling the temperature or the time of preheating by the heating device. The commercially available burner requires only a few additional elements and is therefore very economical to convert.

In the context of the invention, the burner can also be used for heating smaller residential units, in which case it is to be used in suitable heating elements. When heating of process water it is in a combustion chamber of a housing, which is surrounded by a jacket, in which the water to be heated is circulated.

It is also planned to use it to preheat engine cooling water. In particular, a control unit will be required for this purpose, which allows preheating to start at a specific time, opens the shut-off element and starts the ignition system.

Further advantages, features and details emerge from the following description of a preferred exemplary embodiment and from the drawing; this shows in
Fig. 1
a perspective view of a burner according to the invention with ignition system;
Fig. 2
is a schematic representation of the assignment of individual elements of the burner and the ignition system.

According to FIG. 1, a burner 1 according to the invention has a preheating shell 2, into which a hood-shaped fuel and flame distributor 3 is inserted. This is provided with openings 4 which lead the fuel out of the interior of the distributor 3 and produce ring-shaped flame rings.

This is done via a line 7, which is connected to the burner 1. For this purpose, the connector 8 is provided, which divides the line 7 into branch lines 9 and 10. Before a shut-off device 11, the branch lines 9 and 10 are reunited. After the shut-off element 11, a nozzle 12 is provided, through which the fuel can penetrate into the interior of the distributor hood 3 through an opening (not shown) in the preheating shell 2.

Essentially, the branch lines 9 and 10 are arranged below the preheating shell 2 and carry it. Once each branch line 9 and 10 consists of an ascending branch 13, to which a heating element 14 is applied. A transverse branch 15, which can either be arranged below the preheating shell 2 or within the distributor 3, connects the ascending branch 13 to a descending branch 16, the descending branches 13 of the branch lines 9 and 10 reunite each with a transverse nozzle branch 17.

Connection lines 18 lead from the heating rods 14 to an energy source, not shown in detail.

An der Ventilspindel befindet sich ein Bedienungsknopf 22.The shut-off device can be, for example, a needle valve, the valve spindle 19 of which is inserted into the one nozzle branch 17. Suitable spindle rings 20, seals and a stuffing box 21 are provided at the connection point between the nozzle branch 17 and the valve spindle 19. An operating button 22 is located on the valve spindle.

In an improved embodiment, a cleaning needle, which is not shown for the sake of clarity, is also actuated by the valve spindle 19 and moves into the nozzle bore when the shut-off element 11 is closed.

An ignition system 23, which is coupled to an energy source 24, is assigned to the openings 4 or the distributor 3. This ignition system 23 can consist, for example, of a spark plug, an ignition spark being generated periodically via a corresponding electrical or electronic element — not shown in the exemplary embodiment.

Further electrical or electronic elements for switching on the ignition system 23 as a function of a corresponding temperature of the heating element 14 or a predetermined time are likewise neglected for the sake of simplicity.

If the burner 1 is now connected to the tank 5 via the line 7 and the shut-off device 11 is opened, fuel, for example oil, diesel oil, gasoline or the like flows. to the nozzle 12. As soon as fuel emerges from the nozzle 12, the shut-off element 11 is closed. Now the heating rods 14 are heated and their heat by direct contact with the ascending branches 13 transferred. This has the effect that the fuel in these branches 13 also heats up and at least partially changes into a gaseous state. The liquid fuel is pushed to a corresponding extent in the branch line 9 and the line 7 back into the tank 5, so that essentially only gaseous fuel is present in front of the shut-off device 11.

After a certain time or when a certain temperature is reached, the shut-off device 11 is opened and the ignition system 23 is switched on. The gaseous fuel escapes from the nozzle 12 into the distributor 3 and through its openings 4. In the area of the ignition system 23, the ignition spark causes the more flammable gaseous fuel to ignite. This now also preheats the preheating shell 2 and the distributor 3, so that the subsequent liquid fuel sprayed through the nozzle is also ignited and so the activity of the burner 1 can be maintained. Now heating rods 14 and ignition system 23 can be switched off.
