  • the torque that must be applied to the lock before the aperture deforms sufficiently to allow the lock to rotate freely is very much larger than that required where the lock makes point-contact with the aperture on rotation. Nevertheless, the aperture contains no inwardly-directed corners of the kind that cause rapid wear in stamping tools.
