Description

The invention relates to a double action handle for door, window or the like comprising a housing containing a mechanism transforming the rotational movement of the crutch into a movement of translation in the opposite direction of two operating rods and composed of a toothed pinion and of two plates provided with a rack disposed on either side of the toothed pinion, each plate, of essentially rectangular shape, having two connection locations, one or the other of these connection locations cooperating respectively with the one or the other of two connecting axes connecting the plate to one or the other operating rod.

Handles with double action are already known for door, window or the like comprising a housing containing a mechanism making it possible to control two operating rods provided with locking elements to put the latter in the locked or unlocked position for closing or opening of the opening. This mechanism comprises a toothed pinion, integral in rotation with the operating square of the tail of the crutch, cooperating with two racks arranged on either side of said toothed pinion. These racks are secured to a plate having a connection allowing the translational movement of the plate to be transmitted to the corresponding operating rod.

However, the single connection between the plate and the operating rod determines the use to the right or left of the double action handle. Either there must be two types of double action handles, one for use on the right, the other for use on the left, or it must be provided that the mechanism can be reversed. To this end, it will be necessary to dismantle the mechanism with all the risks and loss of time that this implies.

Also known, from document FR-A 2 281 478, is a sliding lock arranged as an overlay on furniture doors. This lock comprises a housing containing a mechanism composed of a toothed pinion and two plates provided with a rack disposed on either side of the toothed pinion, this mechanism transforming the rotational movement of the crutch into a translational movement of opposite direction of two operating rods connected respectively by an axis of connection to the plates of the mechanism, each plate, of essentially rectangular shape, comprising two connection locations, one where the other of these connection locations cooperating with one or the other connecting axis connecting the plate to one or the other rod.

Depending on the right-left use of the lock, the positioning rods are only positioned on the right or on the left of the central axis of the lock.

However, if in one use, the handle or the key locks this lock in the normal position, in the other use, it is necessary to actuate the handle or the key contrary to normal use, that is to say that, in one use, we lower the handle to lock, we are forced, in the other use, to raise the handle.

The production of the previous document does not allow the barrel or the mechanism actuated by the latter to rotate 360 degrees leaving the key in a so-called neutral position since, at a specific time, the variations of the key will appear upwards and, therefore, the closing or opening command will require movement contrary to custom, unless the plates are inverted.

Thus, if in this other use, we want to lock by also lowering the handle, it is necessary and mandatory to also reverse the two racks in the two plates.

Thus, the lock, according to the prior document, has the same drawbacks as the double action handles indicated above, namely that it will be necessary to dismantle the mechanism with all the risks and loss of time that this implies.

The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks. The invention, as characterized in claim 1, solves the problem posed.

The advantages obtained thanks to this invention consist essentially in that the same double action handle can be used either on the right or on the left without dismantling the mechanism contained in the recess produced in the housing.

The double action handle 1, in accordance with the two embodiments, comprises a housing 2 applied to the internal face 3 of the leaf 4 of a door, window or the like. The edge 5 of the opening 4 may comprise either a profile 6 flush with the profile 7 of the frame 8 (see FIG. 11), or a profile 9 with overlap provided with a wing 10 parallel to the internal face 3 and partially covering the profile 7 of the frame 8 (see Figures 6 and 12). The housing 2 is held in place by fastening elements 11, 12 such as screws passing through orifices 13, 14 produced in the profile 6, 9 of the leaf 4 and by a cover plate 21. In this recess 20 is housed a mechanism 22 making it possible to transform the rotational movement of the stand 23 of the double action handle 1 into a translational movement of the operating rods 24, 25 moving in opposite directions and provided with locking elements (not shown) cooperating with strikes (not shown) integral with the frame 8 to ensure the closing and locking of the door, window or the like. These operating rods 24, 25 slide in a guide groove 26, 27 produced in the edge 5 of the opening 4 (see Figures 6, 11 and 12).

Les moyeux 40, 41 faisant saillie en direction de la plaque de recouvrement 21 du boîtier 2 comportent un trou taraudé 44, 45 dont l'axe horizontal 46, 47 est parallèle au chant 5 du dormant 4 (voir figures 7, 13 et 14).One carries out in the ends 28, 29 of the operating rods 24, 25 an orifice 30, 31 through which passes a control finger 32, 33 projecting with respect to the external face 34, 35 of a slide 36, 37 moving in a second groove 38, 39 of width greater than that of the guide groove 26, 27. Each slider 36, 37 comprises a hub 40, 41 projecting from the external face 42, 43 of the operating rods 24, 25. The hubs 40, 41 projecting in the direction of the cover plate 21 of the housing 2 have a tapped hole 44, 45 whose horizontal axis 46, 47 is parallel to the edge 5 of the frame 4 (see FIGS. 7, 13 and 14).

In these threaded holes 44, 45 are screwed the threaded ends 48, 49 of two connecting pins 50, 51 passing through oblong slots 52, 53 made either in made 54 of the flush profile 6, or in the wing 10 of the profile to covering 9. To limit the penetration length of the threaded end 48, 49 into the threaded holes 44, 45 of the hubs 40, 41, the connecting pins 50, 51 are provided with a shoulder 55, 56. The latter provide the connection between the slides 36, 37 and the mechanism 22 housed in the recess 20 of the housing 2 to give the operating rods 24, 25 the translational movement whose direction is a function of the direction of the rotational movement imparted to the stand 23 .

Cette queue comporte un carré de manoeuvre 59 actionnant le mécanisem 22 logé dans ledit évidement 20.To allow the passage of the tail of the latter, there is provided in the housing 2 an orifice 57 opening, on the one hand, into the recess 20 and, on the other hand, on the external face 58 of the housing 2. This tail comprises an operating square 59 actuating the mechanisem 22 housed in said recess 20.

According to the invention, this mechanism 22 comprises a toothed pinion 60 driven in rotation by the operating square 59 of the stand 23. The toothed pinion 60 meshes with two racks 61, 62 located on either side of the median plane vertical 63 of the housing 2. As a result, the two racks 61, 62 move in the opposite direction. Each rack 61, 62 is integral with one of the faces 64 of two rectangular plates 65, 66, said face 64 being that directed towards the stand 23.

To use the double action handle 1 either on the right or on the left relative to a neutral position, without dismantling the mechanism 22 housed in the recess 20 of the housing 2, the invention provides that each rectangular plate 65, 66 comprises two connection locations 67, 68, 69, 70 making it possible to connect, via the connection axes 50, 51, the operating rods 24, 25 to their rectangular plate respectively 65, 66 depending on the use of the double action handle 1.

In accordance with the general inventive concept, it is possible to produce the double action handle 1 according to two embodiments.

According to the first embodiment, visible in Figures 1, 3 to 7, the open position of the double action handle 1 is the neutral position and the connecting locations 67, 68, 69, 70 of the two rectangular plates 65, 66 are arranged on the same alignment plane 71, the two plates 65, 66 overlapping.

According to the second embodiment, visible in Figures 2, 9 to 14, the closed position of the double action handle 1 is the neutral position and each rectangular plate 65, 66 has two connection locations 67, 68 and 69 , 70 arranged on a diagonal 72, 73 passing through the center 74 of the housing 2, the two plates 65, 66 partially overlapping by intersecting.

On se réfère aux figures 1, 3 à 7.We refer to Figures 1, 3 to 7.

The lower plate 65, the two longitudinal edges of which 75, 76 cooperate with the longitudinal walls 77, 78 of the recess 20, has at its upper end 79 and at its lower end 80 a fork 81, 82 whose semi-circular bottom 83, 84 cooperates with the ends 85, 86 of the connecting pins 50, 51. Furthermore, the lower plate 65 is provided with two orifices 87, 88 in which the ends 85, 86 of the connecting pins 50, 51 can be accommodated. The forks 81, 82 and the two orifices 87, 88 arranged between them, are located on the alignment 71. The axes 89, 90, 91, 92 of the forks 81, 82 and the orifices 87, 88 are located at equal distances from the horizontal median plane 93 of the housing 2. The distance 94, 95 separating the axes 89, 91 and 90, 92 is equal to the distance 96, 97 separating the axes 91, 92 from the horizontal median plane 93. axis between the two connection locations 67, 68 of the plate 65 corresponds to the sum of the two distances 96, 97 and the distance between the two connection locations 69, 70 of the plate 66 corresponds to the sum of the four distances 94 to 97. the two connection locations 67, 68 of the plate 65 are interposed between the two connection locations 69, 70 of the plate 66 when the handle is in the neutral position, that is to say when the handle is in the open position.

The upper plate 66 has two holes 98, 99 whose axis 100, 101 is located in the extension of the axis 89, 90 of the forks 81, 82 of the lower plate 65. These holes 98, 99 are made in bases 102, 103 arranged on either side of a recess 104.

A single oblong slot 105 is produced in the cover plate 21 whose longitudinal axis 106, superimposed on the alignment plane 71, is parallel to the vertical median plane 64 of the housing 2. The length 107 of this oblong slot 105 is equal at the sum of the stroke 108 of the two connection locations 69, 70, therefore of the orifices 98, 99 of the upper plate 66, and of the diameter of the ends 85, 86 of the connection axes 50, 51.

Referring to Figures 1a and 3 showing the double action handle 1 whose neutral position is the open position while the right-left positions are the closed positions.

Using the handle as a straight handle (Figures 1b and 4) and giving it a closed position:
  • - the lower plate 65 is connected to the upper operating rod 24 by the connecting pin 50 engaged in the connection location 68 formed by the fork 82 and sliding in the recess 104 of the upper plate 66 with a stroke corresponding to distance 97.
  • - The upper plate 66 is connected to the lower operating rod 25 by the connecting pin 51 engaged in the connecting location 70 formed by the orifice 99, this connecting pin 51 moving in a race corresponding to the distance 94.

Using the handle as a left handle (see Figures 1 and 5) and giving it a closed position:
  • - the lower plate 65 is connected to the lower operating rod 25 by the connecting pin 51 engaged in the connection location 67 formed by the fork 81 and sliding in the recess 104 of the upper plate 66 with a stroke corresponding to distance 96.
  • - The upper plate 66 is reilé to the upper operating rod 24 by the connecting axis 50 engaged in the connecting location 69 formed by the orifice 98, this connecting axis 50 moving in a stroke corresponding to the distance 95.

On se réfère aux figures 2 et 8 à 14.We refer to Figures 2 and 8 to 14.

Selon ce second mode d'exécution, il est possible de réduire la course maxima des différents emplacements de liaison 67 à 70, ce qui permet également de diminuer la longueur du boîtier 2.According to this second embodiment, it is possible to reduce the maximum travel of the various connection locations 67 to 70, which also makes it possible to reduce the length of the housing 2.

The lower rectangular plate 65 comprises a first rectangular hub 109, projecting with respect to a base 110, and being located at the upper end 111 of the latter. One of the longitudinal sides 112 of this rectangular hub 109 slides along one of the longitudinal walls 78 of the recess 20. This rectangular hub 109 is surmounted by a boss 113 provided with two dishes 114, 115 which are mutually parallel and parallel to the longitudinal side 112.

Ce second moyeu rectangulaire 116 est également surmonté d'un bossage 118 pourvu de deux plats 119, 120 parallèles entre-eux et parallèles au côté longitudinal 117.Diagonally opposite the first rectangular hub 109, the rectangular plate 65 includes a second rectangular hub 116, one of the longitudinal sides 117 of which slides along the other longitudinal wall 77 of the recess 20. This second rectangular hub 116 is also surmounted by a boss 118 provided with two flats 119, 120 parallel to each other and parallel to the longitudinal side 117.

A blind hole 121,122 is made in the two rectangular hubs 109,116. Depending on the use to the right (Figures 2b and 9) or to the left (Figures 2c and 10) of the double action handle 1, either the blind hole 121 of the first rectangular hub 109 is engaged, the end 85 of the connecting axis 50 connecting the first operating rod 24 to the rectangular plate 65, or in the blind hole 122 of the second rectangular hub 116, the end 86 of the connecting axis 51 connecting the second operating rod 25 to rectangular plate 65.

Le côté longitudinal 128 de ce moyeu rectangulaire 129 glisse le long de la paroi longitudinale 77 de l'évidement 20.The other rectangular plate 66 has, at its upper end 124, a boss 125 provided with two plates 126, 127 parallel to each other and parallel to the longitudinal side 128 of a rectangular hub 129 integral with the face 64 of the rectangular plate 66, this face 64 being directed towards the stand 23. The longitudinal side 128 of this rectangular hub 129 slides along the longitudinal wall 77 of the recess 20.

Diagonally opposite the boss 125, the rectangular plate 66 has a boss 130 projecting from the top of a wing 131 perpendicular to a longitudinal boss 132. This longitudinal boss 132, integral with the face 64 of the rectangular plate 66, face 64 directed towards the stand 23, slides along a longitudinal boss 133 projecting relative to the base 110 of the rectangular plate 65 and directed towards the operating rods 24, 25. Thus, the two rectangular plates 65, 66 are move vertically in the recess 20 in opposite directions, intersecting and partially overlapping.

The boss 130 has two dishes 134, 135 parallel to each other and parallel to the side 136 of the wing 131, this side 136 sliding along the longitudinal wall 78 of the recess 20.

A blind hole 137, 138 is made in the bosses 125, 130. Depending on the use to the right (FIGS. 2b and 9) or to the left (FIGS. 2c and 10) of the double action handle 1, one engages either in the blind hole 138 of the boss 130, the end 86 of the connecting pin 61 connecting the second operating rod 25 to the rectangular plate 66, or in the blind hole 137 of the boss 125, the end 85 of the axis connecting 50 connecting the first operating rod 24 to the rectangular plate 66.

The top 139 of the bosses 113,118,125,130 is flush with the face 140 of the cover plate 21, this face 140 being directed towards the operating rods 24, 25.

There are four oblong slots 141,142,143,144 in the cover plate 21 allowing passage of the bosses 113, 118, 125, 130, the longitudinal tudinal axes 145, 146, 147, 148 of these oblong slots 141, 142, 143, 144 being parallel to the vertical median plane 63 of the housing 2. The distance 149 relative to the vertical median plane 63 of the longitudinal axes 145, 148, arranged in the extension of one another, is equal to the distance 150 of the longitudinal axes 146, 147 arranged also in line with one another and parallel to the longitudinal axes 145, 148.

The width 151 of these oblong slots 141 to 144 corresponds to the distance 152 between the dishes 114, 115 of the boss 113, the dishes 119, 120 of the boss 118, the dishes 126, 127 of the boss 125 and the dishes 134, 135 of the boss 130, so that the longitudinal walls of these oblong slots 141 to 144 serve as a guide for the various bosses 113, 118, 125, 130.

According to the invention, the bosses 113,118 of the rectangular plate 65 move in the oblong slots 141, 142 while the bosses 125, 130 of the rectangular plate 66 move in the oblong slots 143, 144.

When the double action handle 1 is in the closed position, the centers 153, 154, 155, 156 of the blind holes 121, 122, 137, 138 are equidistant from the horizontal median plane 93 of the housing 2, these centers 153 to 156 constituting the four connection locations 67 to 70 between the mechanism 22 and the two operating rods 24, 25.

The length 157 of said oblong slots 141 to 144 is equal to the sum of the travel 158 of the centers 143 to 156 and the diameter 159 of the bosses 113,118,125,130, the travel 158 of said centers 153 to 156 corresponding to the travel of the rectangular plates 65, 66 being double the stroke of the operating rods 24, 25. Indeed, when the double action handle 1 is in the closed position as visible in FIGS. 2b and 8, the centers 153 to 156 occupy the middle of each oblong lumen 141 to 144. By using, for example, the double action handle 1 on the left, as visible in FIGS. 2c and 10, and by putting it in the open position, the unused connection location 153 of the plate rectangular 65 moves away from a half-stroke of the horizontal median plane 93 and abuts against the upper edge 160 of the oblong lumen 141 and the location of the center 154 provided with the connecting axis 51. of this same rectangular plate 65 will be pproche a half-stroke of the horizontal median plane 83 and abuts against the upper edge 161 of the oblong light 142, this half-stroke corresponding to the stroke of the operating rod 25 while using this same double action handle 1 on the right, as visible in FIGS. 2b and 9, the location of the center 156 provided with the connecting axis 50 approaches a half-stroke of the horizontal median plane 93 and abuts against the lower edge 162 of the light oblong 141 and the location of the unused center 154 moves away from a half-stroke of the horizontal median plane 83 and abuts against the lower edge 163 of the oblong light 142. In the closed position of the double action handle 1, the four locations of the centers 153 to 156 forming the four connection locations 67 to 70 constitute the corners of a rectangle whose diagonals 72, 73 intersect at the center 74 of the housing 2.

With regard to the rectangular plate 66, in the case of use on the left (FIGS. 2c and 10), the location of the unused center 156 moves away from a half-stroke and the location of the center 155 provided with the end 86 of the connecting axis 51 of the second operating rod 25 approaches a half-stroke of the horizontal median plane 93 whereas in the case of use on the right (FIGS. 2b and 9), the 'location of the center 156, provided with the end 85 of the connecting axis 50 of the first operating rod 24, approaches a half-stroke of the horizontal median plane 83 and the location of the unused center 155 s' deviates by half a race from said horizontal median plane 93.

Thus, depending on the use to the right or to the left, the centers situated on the same side with respect to the vertical median plane 63 move away or approach a half-stroke of the horizontal median plane 93.

Therefore, there is the possibility of using either the double action handle 1 on the right or on the left without removing the mechanism 22 housed in the recess 20 of the housing 2.

According to this second embodiment, the neutral position is the closed position (Figures 2a and 8) and the right-left positions are the open positions of the double action handle 1 (Figures 2b and 9; Figures 2c and 10).
