Description

The invention relates to a floor nozzle for vacuum cleaners according to the preamble of claim 1.

The previously known floor nozzles have one or more flat suction channels which extend from the lateral ends of the floor nozzle to a centrally arranged suction hole, into which they open laterally. A thread pick-up is arranged along the front and rear edge of the suction hole, which are essential for the satisfactory cleaning of a carpet.

The thread pickup arranged in front of the suction hole requires a certain web width, which has the consequence that the front suction is unsatisfactory in the previously known floor nozzles, since the suction channel or channels are not close enough to the boundary of the surface to be cleaned, e.g. Walls, furniture and the like can be introduced. As a result, an uncleaned edge strip remains there, the processing of which is not possible with the previously known floor nozzles.

Another disadvantage of the known floor nozzles is that there is an unfavorable vacuum distribution in the suction channel or channels. In the area of the mouth into the suction hole, the negative pressure is high and drops sharply in the direction of the lateral edge areas, as a result of which the dirt absorption varies greatly in the width direction of the known floor nozzles.

The present invention has for its object to develop a floor nozzle of the type under consideration so that the dirt and dust absorption capacity is improved.

This object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1.

The floor nozzle according to the invention has a single suction channel which extends directly behind the front edge of the floor nozzle over its entire width and is located in front of the suction hole. As a result, the suction channel can be brought up to walls, furniture and the like when cleaning a base, so that no untreated edge strips remain there. The front suction is thus significantly improved.

It is furthermore provided with great advantage that the suction channel is separated from the suction hole and is directly connected to the suction nozzle of the floor nozzle. This creates an additional, narrow suction area for the thread take-up through the separately arranged suction hole. Since the suction channel does not open into the suction hole, but is connected to the suction nozzle of the floor nozzle by its own connecting line, a more uniform distribution of the negative pressure in the suction channel is made possible. This is particularly the case when the suction channel is widened in a funnel shape towards the underside of the floor nozzle. With this design, a substantially equal negative pressure is established over the entire length of the suction channel, as a result of which the dirt and dust absorption is equally intense over the entire width of the floor nozzle. Through the improved Air flow in the suction channel also significantly reduces noise.

The suction channel should be made so narrow that it has a smaller width than the suction hole of the floor nozzle. This has the advantage that all of the particles taken up by the suction channel can leave the floor nozzle again through the suction nozzle, since the particles that enter the suction channel also easily pass through the subsequent larger cross sections. A blockage of the floor nozzle according to the invention is thus avoided in contrast to the floor nozzles known to date.

The suction channel should expediently be approximately 10 mm wide, while the suction channels of the floor nozzles which have been customary hitherto have a width of approximately 18 mm.

The suction channel should be limited by a continuous front and rear cleaning edge. Since the cleaning edges run across the entire width of the floor nozzle or the entire length of the suction channel and are not interrupted, gentle treatment of a carpet to be cleaned with even dirt and dust absorption is guaranteed. Side edge openings are expediently designed for the entry of air into the suction channel, as a result of which excellent edge suction is achieved.

A floor nozzle of the type under consideration is usually provided with an extendable brush strip arranged behind the suction hole. While in the previously known floor nozzles this brush strip, which is to be extended when vacuuming a smooth surface, runs in a straight line, is proposed according to the invention with particular advantage to arrange this brush strip bell-shaped. This bell shape, in which the lateral end sections of the brush strip run obliquely to the cleaning edges, creates an essentially all-round closed suction space with the centrally arranged suction hole. In addition to the formation of the suction chamber, which has a favorable influence on the suction process, this design results in improved support of the floor nozzle, which is guided on the brush bar and the wheels arranged on the rear area when the brush strip is extended, while the cleaning edges surrounding the suction channel float in the air.

According to the invention it is further proposed that the changeover device for the brush strip, with which it can be brought into an extended or retracted position, consists of two changeovers, one of which is provided on each side of the suction nozzle. This simplifies the operation of the floor nozzle, since the operator can always comfortably reach one of the diverters, which can preferably be operated with the foot.

Advantageously, a switch protection is firmly attached to the housing of the floor nozzle between the two diverters. Since the diverters are generally easy toggle switches, there is a risk that when brushing against furniture and the like, the brush strip is inadvertently adjusted. This is avoided by the proposed switch protection, which absorbs the shock so that the toggle switches cannot be actuated.

So that the operator can see at a glance at the top of the floor nozzle whether it is set for vacuuming a smooth surface or a carpet, it is proposed that the diverters have a common axis of rotation with which a rigid arm is fixedly connected to it Pivoting as a result of an actuation of a diverter moves a film provided with symbols under a display window forwards or backwards accordingly. The symbol recognizable through the display window thus provides reliable information about the respective position of the brush strip.

The axles for the impellers provided in the area of the rear end section of the floor nozzle can be integrally formed on the side of the suction nozzle, making this design particularly simple and inexpensive. The suction nozzle with the axes and the diverter can be inserted from above into corresponding recesses in the housing of the floor nozzle and closed with a cover. This simplifies the assembly of the floor nozzle. The rollers can be half covered by the cover, which has a favorable influence on the appearance of the floor nozzle.

Reference is first made to FIG. 1, which shows a bottom view of the floor nozzle 1. At the bottom of the floor nozzle 1 there is a central suction hole 2, on the front and rear edge of which a thread pickup 3 is arranged. A suction channel 4 runs in front of the suction hole 2, separated from it, and extends over the entire width of the floor nozzle 1. The suction channel 4 is surrounded by cleaning edges 5, in which edge openings 6 are formed on the narrow sides for the entry of air into the suction channel 4, as indicated by arrows A in FIG. 1. The cleaning edge 5 is formed continuously on the front and rear edge of the suction channel 4.

Behind the suction hole 2 there is a brush strip 7, which is arranged bell-shaped in plan by its lateral sections 8 being guided obliquely in the direction of the suction channel 4. The brush strip is extended when cleaning a smooth surface and then supports the floor nozzle 1 together with rear support wheels 9, while the cleaning edges 5 float freely.

The two wheels 9 are mounted on axles 10, which are injection molded laterally on a suction nozzle 11, to which the suction pipe of the vacuum cleaner, not shown, is connected.

From FIG. 2 it can be seen particularly clearly that the suction channel 4 is arranged separately from the suction hole and is connected directly via a channel 12 to the suction line 13 leading to the suction nozzle 11. The vast majority of the particles to be picked up is sucked into the interior of the floor nozzle 1 through the suction channel 4, while the suction hole 2 forms an additional, narrow suction area with the thread pickups 3.

The suction channel 4 widens towards the bottom of the floor nozzle 1 in a funnel shape, so that the vacuum in the suction channel 4 is evenly distributed.

To extend and retract the brush strip 7, a diverter 14 in the form of a smooth-running toggle switch is arranged on both sides of the suction nozzle 11, which is provided with a common axis of rotation 15 (FIG. 4) are.

Between the changeover switches 14 there is a changeover protection 16 which is attached to the housing of the floor nozzle 1 and which prevents the changeover switch 14 from being inadvertently switched over by hitting an obstacle.

To display the respective position of the brush strip 7, a viewing window 17 is formed, under which the display mechanism 18 shown schematically in FIG. 4 is arranged. With the common axis of rotation 15, the diverter 14 is a rigid arm 19 firmly connected, the free end portion holding a film 20 which is provided with symbols 21, not shown. When a diverter 14 is actuated, that is to say tilted, the axis of rotation 15 is pivoted accordingly with the rigid arm 19 and the film 20 held below the viewing window 17 in a suitable guide is moved forwards or backwards, as a result of which the symbol 21 indicating the respective position of the brush bar 7 is visible through the viewing window 17. In the embodiment shown, the film is guided clockwise. However, it can also be directed in any direction, for example counterclockwise or in a straight line, which enables a greater variation in the shape of the floor nozzle.
