Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a joint cover of butted plastic insulation panels of a roof, in particular a pitched roof, to prevent the penetration of surface water while at the same time avoiding harmful water accumulations as a result of water vapor diffusion.
In the case of roofs, there is a risk during construction that rain will cause water to penetrate into the insulation layer through the butt joints, reducing the thermal insulation value and, in the case of adjacent components, leading to undesired decay or corrosion.
But even after covering, there is the possibility of surface water being formed due to flying snow or damage to the roof skin. On the other hand, the one-sided sealing of the joints between the plastic foam insulation boards is not possible, since due to the steam pressure there is a risk of water accumulation in certain weather conditions, which could likewise cause the aforementioned damage.
The object of the invention is therefore to find a means, in particular for cuboid-like, inclined plastic foam insulation boards, which prevents the penetration of surface water into the butt joints and at the same time has such a low water vapor diffusion resistance. that harmful water accumulations cannot occur, which significantly reduce the thermal insulation value and lead to rotting or corroding of the adjacent components.
The object is achieved in that a surface water-impermeable strip is firmly connected at least on one side of a joint with insulation panels of the roof and that there are ways of removing the water vapor.
By sealing the butt joints of the insulation panels covered with a waterproof foil (aluminum foil) with or without tongue and groove on the side facing the weather, it is achieved that even with slight roof pitches preferably> 20 ° surface water - without causing damage - will run off The resulting water vapor as a result of the vapor pressure gradient is not prevented from flowing through the surface-water-tight layer.
With a simple joint seal it is possible to create a fully functional roof during the construction and operating times.
The joints across the fall line can easily be covered by an extruded profile with flat legs. The lower leg runs parallel to the surface of a first thermal insulation board, as a result of which the surface water is conducted over the butt joint, while the steam coming out of the joint can freely draw off below the leg. The upper leg has a smaller slope than the roof slope and is held in a slot in the corner of the second insulation panel, which begins at an angle to the outer surface in the corner. The existing inclination is still large enough to drain any water that may be drawn towards the eaves. To prevent the plastic panel from being pulled out, projecting parts are attached to the upper leg in the area of the second insulation panel, which act as barbs.
In another embodiment, a flat strip of flexible film or extruded profile is applied over the joints - in particular in the direction of the fall line - on the surface of the waterproof insulation boards and is preferably attached with a self-adhesive. The required vapor permeability, which is in the form of a diffusion-equivalent air layer thickness s d = µ.s. is measured with water vapor diffusion resistance factor µ and sample thickness s (DIN 52 615 B1) using a diffusion-open film s d <1.8 m or by punctiform attachment to elevations in the form of grooves and knobs, the latter not permitting water to penetrate leave, but allow the steam to escape.
Furthermore, it is possible to equip the flexible strips with a network or water-repellent fibers which, in addition to the vapor permeability, give the strip a certain strength, so that tearing does not occur when the insulation boards are displaced as a result of temperature changes and shrinkage.
