Abstract

1. Pyramid shaped cutter head tooth (1) with square cross-section for a suction dredger, characterised in that groove shaped indentations (6) are arranged bordering the edges (5) of the surfaces (4) of the cutter head tooth (1).

Description

The invention relates to a pyramid-shaped cutting head tooth with a square cross section for a suction excavator.

Such cutting head teeth are used for dredging under water and are located as wear parts on rotating cutting heads on a boom of a suction dredger. They are used to loosen sand or rock and are therefore exposed to heavy wear.

Cutting head teeth are pyramid-shaped and preferably have a circular rectangular or square cross section. Such cutting head teeth are shown in DE-PS-2 841 523 and DE-OS-3 300 467. Furthermore, it is known to form excavator teeth for bucket excavators for reasons of strength or for heat treatment reasons. DE-AS-2 744 497 shows such an excavator tooth with an I-shaped cross section. Such an excavator tooth with an X-shaped cross-section is described on pages 96 to 99 of the "Zeitschrift für Wirtschaftsfertigung", volume 79/1984, volume 2.

A disadvantage of the known cutting head teeth is a very high thermal load on the tooth due to the strong cutting stress. This high thermal load leads to a reduced wear resistance of the material, which means that the cutting head tooth wears out faster. In the case of cutting head teeth, it is common to provide a large volume of material as wear material in order to be able to keep the teeth in contact as long as possible and to reduce the tooth change times which are associated with the cutting heads emerging from the water. The training according to excavator teeth for bucket excavators is therefore not suitable for the function as a cutting head tooth, because in this form of training there is no sufficient wear material.

The invention is therefore based on the object of increasing the service life of cutting head teeth for suction excavators with the same use of wear material.

This object is achieved in that trough-shaped depressions are arranged adjacent to the edges of the lateral surfaces of the cutting head tooth.

In an advantageous embodiment, the channel-shaped depressions of each lateral surface converge to form a depression in the region of the tooth tip. In order to accommodate additional wear material, it is provided in a further embodiment that the outer surfaces of the pyramid shape are partially or completely curved outwards.

The advantages achieved by the invention are, in particular, that better cooling of the cutting head tooth is achieved by the trough-shaped depressions provided according to the invention and the service life of the material used and thus of the entire cutting head tooth is thereby increased. In addition, the changed material distribution results in a better moment of resistance against bending on the cutting head tooth, which leads to a reduced material tension and additionally increases the service life of the cutting head tooth. Furthermore, due to the groove-shaped design of the cutting head teeth adjacent to the edges of the lateral surfaces, the loosened soil is better transported, which results in higher productivity.

An embodiment of the invention will be explained with reference to the drawing.

Figure imgb0001
As can be seen from the drawing, a cutting head tooth 1 is pushed onto an adapter 2 and fixed by means of a securing element 3 (FIG. 1). The adapter 2 is welded to the cutting head of a suction excavator, which is not shown. As a result, the cutting head tooth 1 can be replaced as a wearing part in a simple manner. The cutting head tooth 1 is pyramid-shaped and has a square cross section. The lateral surfaces 4 of the pyramid-shaped outer contour are flat. However, they can also be wholly or partially curved slightly outwards (FIG. 4). Trough-shaped depressions 6 are arranged adjacent to the edges 5 of the lateral surfaces 4 and run towards the tooth tip 7 in a V-shape. They converge into a depression 8 in the area of the tooth tip 7. In the cross-sectional area according to FIG. 4, the lateral surfaces 4 are slightly curved outwards.
