Abstract

Composition en produit élastique vulcanisable contenant une partie en polymère liquide et une partie élastique vulcanisée sous forme solide en tant que renforcement ou charge élastique du mélange après vulcanisation.Composition in vulcanizable elastic product containing a part in liquid polymer and an elastic part vulcanized in solid form as reinforcement or elastic filler of the mixture after vulcanization.

Description

and use thereof
This invention relates to a hardenable (curable) product com¬ position consisting of a liquid curable polymer part (prior to curing) and a vulcanized, or cured elastic part in solid form present as a reinforcement or elastic filler of the mix- ture after curing.
The curable polymer part can preferably consist of a two com¬ ponent curable urethane polymer, and the second part, e.g., of a vulcan-zed, natural or synthetic rubber in the form of spherical particles having a diameter, preferably less than about 1 mm, or of fiber form having a length of 5 to 15 mm, and a diameter less than 1 mm. The part of vulcanized rubber shall have such an elasticity modulus, and hardness that cor¬ respond to the use of the final mixed product.
The incorporation by mixing of solid particles and/or fibres can be 10 to 40 % by weight of the mixture depending on the properties wanted of the final product. After mixing of the parts, and application, and shaping, respectively, the mix- ture is cured in situ.
The product composition intended can be used for a number of purposes. Thus the composition can be applied on a surface which shall be protected from mechanical damage, e.g., wear- mg surfaces on transport devices. The composition can also be sprayed, rolled, apinted, and stopped, or in any other way be applied onto a surface of a material as a protection against corrosion, water, and aggresive liquids. The compo¬ sition can be cast in a mould prior to curing, e.g., at the production of vehicle tires, and other cast products. Lt can also be used in tightening of tube joints and closures. „,, .
The product composition can be provided with agents that pro¬ vide particular properties to the finished composition,..such as colour by adding a colour pigment, increased-adhesiveness by adding a tar fraction, tixotrophy by adding zeolithes. fire restistance by adding organic chloro compounds, and cor¬ rosion inhibiting properties by adding inhibitors such as hexamethylene diamine.
Working example.
A product composition according to the invention (airless rubber mass without tar) can contain a binding agent for the rubber particles, and fibres, respectively, present, consist¬ ing of a mixture of the following components:
DESMOPHEN 1150 Branched polyalcohol having ether and ester groups present.
REACTIVE DILUENT PU Ether alcohol
(having low viscosity, maximum 15 % can be added, and improves thereby elastici¬ ty and adhesiveness) .
DESMODUR VL Polyisocyanate, prepolymer based on diphenyl methane - diisocyanate. (Viscosity about half of that of DESMO- PHEN 1150) .
. These products are marketed by BAYER AG. By using a high amount of binding agent and a suitable compo- ' sition elasticity, wearing resistance, adhesiveness, and chemical resistance have improved considerably.
