- Pre-stretched, shrink-wrapping films have found extensive use in packaging technology in recent years. Such films, for example under the trade name PRESTO-STRETCH-GARD, PRESTO-BUNDLE-GARD and PRESTO-STRETCH-GARD IV, have the property that an object covered by them is compressed due to the remaining film tension without the film tearing. This means that the packaging technology with such pre-stretchable, shrink-wrapping films differs considerably from that with heat-shrinking films, which are also used in packaging technology.
