The covering (1) of the bouncing wall (2) is simply attached to a pair of parallel flanges (6,6') of the frame and the lateral portions (8,8') connecting the flanges (6,6') move away from each other due to the pressure of the springs (7) which are arranged thereto.

Description

The invention relates to a system for conveying tennis balls, with an at least approximately perpendicular baffle and a collecting channel arranged at the foot of the balls, to which a ramp with a rising and a falling area adjoins the playing field, baffle or ramp are designed to absorb bumps.

Systems of this type, as can be seen, for example, from EP-A-0 043 886, have the purpose of collecting the balls hit by a player against the vertical baffle or the ramp and feeding them to a conveying device which transports them to a container. A ball throwing machine is usually connected to this container.

The object of the invention is to ensure in such a device that balls hit against the baffle spring back from the wall with as little residual energy as possible, so that they are not thrown back over the ramp into the field, but are directed from the suitably designed ramp into the collecting trough .

In DE-A-23 34 849 it has already been proposed to solve the same problem to produce the baffle from "elastically damping" material and to put it under tension. In addition to the fact that it is not known at all which materials would have suitable properties for solving the task at hand, the invention is intended to make it possible to use almost any covering for the baffle wall and ramp which, from the point of view of durability, cleanability and the like. Like. Can be selected.

On the outside, the device proposed to solve the problem shows a certain similarity to DE-A-1 428 841. There is shown a cover attached to a frame by means of springs, which, however, does not slow down the tennis ball, but on the contrary throws it back onto the playground and thus simulates a kickback of the ball by an opponent. In contrast to this, it is provided according to the invention that the baffle and / or at least a portion of the ramp has a covering which is only attached to a pair of parallel, horizontal and normal to the direction of the playing field edge strips of a frame and that the edge strips a rectangular connecting side pieces of the frame consisting of telescoped pieces of pipe strive apart under the pressure of springs arranged therein.

Since the width of the halls for which the system according to the invention is to be used fluctuates within wide limits, it makes sense to manufacture both the baffle walls and the ramps in sections of constant length which can be strung together. Since the ramp and the baffle in this case are interrupted several times by side parts under spring pressure, it is recommended that the covering encompasses the outer edge of the edge strips, which lies in front of the level of the side parts. This prevents the tarpaulin from resting on the side parts under spring pressure and balls from these areas bouncing back into the field undamped.

  • Fig. 2 die zugehörige Draufsicht,
Further details of the invention are explained below with reference to the drawing.
  • 1 shows an embodiment of the invention from the side,
  • 2 the associated top view,
  • 3 and 4 represent sections of enlarged side views partially cut.

The arrangement according to the invention essentially consists of an at least approximately vertical baffle wall 2 carried by stands 16, which, like the ramp 5 composed of an ascending area and a descending area 4, is provided with a covering 1. This covering runs between edge strips 6 and 6 ', which are held at a distance by telescopically pushed side parts 8, 8'.

A joint 10 holds the ramp 5 in the position shown, so that a collecting channel 22 is formed between the ramp 5 and the baffle wall 2. Through this collecting trough, the tennis balls 17 in the present exemplary embodiment are conveyed by a screw conveyor 11 to an output housing 23, into which they are individually introduced by a paddle wheel 14. This paddle wheel 14 is driven by means of a transmission gear 25 from the same motor 12 as the screw conveyor 11. From the outlet housing 23, the tennis balls 17 are pressed by a blower 13 into the hose 15, through which they lead to the collecting container, not shown, for example. a ball throwing machine.

As is particularly apparent from Fig. 2, baffle 2 and ramp 5 are composed of individual parts of constant width, which makes the entire system easy to transport and can also be assembled in different widths from prepared elements. A single conveyor is sufficient to transport the tennis balls 18. However, the screw conveyor 11 is to be provided with coupling points 31, which allow it to be attached to any length.

The manner according to the invention, in which the covering 1 is fastened to the baffle wall 2 or to the partial regions 3 and 4 of the ramp 5, is shown in greater detail in FIGS. 3 and 4. As can be seen, there are between the edge strips 6, 6 ' arranged to a frame side parts 8, 8 'springs 7, which are supported in the interior of blind holes 20 of the outer side parts 8. The pressure of the springs 7 causes the covering 1 between the edge strips 6 and 6 'to be under elastic tension, which is now no longer made from the material of the covering 1 depends, but can be determined by a suitable choice of springs 7. The edge strips 6 and 6 'are angled twice, so that their outer edge 9 is at a distance from the side parts 8 and 8', to which they are fastened by means of screws 24 or the like.

The shape and arrangement of the facing edge strips 6 of the baffle wall 2 and ramp 5 determine the collecting channel 22, against the bottom of which the tennis balls 17 rest, while they are being transported by the conveyor screw 11 consisting of an inner tube or rod 18 and a helix 19.

Since the ramp 5 is fastened to the stand 16 by means of a joint 21 and there is also a joint 10 between the ascending region 3 and the descending region 4 of the ramp, the ramp 5 can easily be folded up in a space-saving manner when the device is not in operation is. A particular advantage of the arrangement is, however, that the elasticity of the ramp caused by the springs 7 prevents damage to the ramp even when it is not folded up and play on the covering increases.
