Definitions
- the invention relates to a dispenser for pasty products with a dispensing channel with a dispensing mouth and a headpiece connected to the latter via a connecting path which can be closed by means of a second check valve which can only be opened in the direction of the dispensing mouth and which has a volume-changing pump chamber and an attached to the headpiece Connected container, the end facing away from the head piece has an opening and in the interior of which is provided a sealingly sliding piston on the inner wall of the container, the inside of the container via a first check valve which can only be opened in the direction of the pumping chamber and which runs in a flow between the pumping chamber and the interior of the container Support floor is arranged, is in communication with the pump chamber.
- dispensers of the type explained above it is possible to dispense pasty materials by changing the volume of the pump chamber by means of external pressure, for example by finger pressure on an actuation button connected to a pump piston, in amounts dependent on the change in volume of the puncturing chamber.
- the atmospheric pressure is used, which acts on the underside of the piston closing the inside of the container and which, after generating a negative pressure in the pumping chamber, contains an amount of the pasty mass corresponding to the volume change in the pumping chamber Pump chamber presses. From there, this amount is then pressed out of the dispenser through the dispensing channel during the next volume reduction in the pumping chamber using the function of the check valves provided.
- the use of special propellants to drive the pasty mass out of the dispenser is therefore not necessary for dispensers of the type described at the beginning.
- the dispenser can be actuated with very little effort, for example by finger pressure.
- the first check valve i.e. the check valve arranged between the interior of the container and the pumping chamber is formed from a valve opening provided in the support base running between the pumping chamber and the interior of the container and a valve cover which, in the closed position, covers the valve opening from above, is mounted on elastic bands and can be lifted off the opening.
- the edge of the valve opening is designed to taper conically downwards.
- a guiding and reinforcing projection in cross shape is provided, the outer ends of the arms of the cross being beveled in accordance with the taper of the valve opening.
- the reinforcement protrusion with inclined outer edges serves for the clean positioning of the valve cover relative to the valve opening in the closed position, the sealing closure of the valve opening by covering the same by means of the valve cover and not by the abutment of the inclined outer edges of the reinforcement protrusion on the conical edge of the closure opening he follows.
- the valve opening to be closed is a "closed" circle in the geometrical sense, which is covered by a stiff closure element, namely the closure cover, when the valve is closed.
- dispensers of the type mentioned at the outset and in particular for use as packaging for pasty products consumed in large quantities, it is of particular importance to be able to mass-produce containers of the type set out at the beginning in a cost-effective manner.
- the invention has for its object to provide a dispenser of the type described above, which is constructed simply and robustly from a few parts, is inexpensive and economical to mass produce and can be assembled efficiently, and which is precise and trouble-free in its function.
- the first check valve has a conical element tapering towards the pump chamber as a valve seat, which element is connected to the support base via supporting bridges and around which a number of passage openings are arranged between the support bridges, and further as a closing part a perforated disk made of flexible material, which is arranged coaxially to the conical element and is held at its radially outer region on the support base and in the closed position with its inner edge sealingly on the outer surface of the conical element is present and then covers the passage opening.
- the dispenser according to the invention has significant advantages over the prior art.
- the dispenser according to the invention is based on the idea that the valve opening of the first check valve in the support base between the pumping chamber and the container is not designed as a simple hole with a self-contained surface, but rather as an opening in which a conical tapering towards the pumping chamber forms a central and fixed position Element is arranged, which is connected to the support base via support bridges (so that individual through openings are formed between the support bridges), and to arrange a perforated disk made of flexible material coaxially to the conical element and to hold it at its radially outer region on the support base.
- the configuration according to the invention enables an annular elastic closing element to interact with a stationary conical part in such a way that, when the valve is in the closed position, the inner edge of the annular closing part comes to rest against the conical jacket of the stationary part.
- the elasticity of the closing part and the conicity of the contact surface ensure that there is reliable sealing contact between the interacting parts around the full circumference of the conical part.
- the design according to the invention also enables a very simple, inexpensive construction from a few parts. When assembling the parts, no particular care is required with regard to the arrangement of the valve parts to one another, since the self-centering and self-sealing pairing of the central cone of the valve seat and this concentrically surrounding elastic locking washer can easily compensate for any assembly inaccuracies.
- the first check valve consists of two simply shaped parts that can be produced in a rational manner.
- One part is the conical valve seat connected to the support base with the passage openings arranged around the valve seat.
- This part of the first check valve can, for example, be inexpensively manufactured in large quantities from plastic by injection molding.
- the design of the closing part of the first check valve as a perforated disc made of elastic material also enables economical mass production. Injection molding processes in which elastomers are processed are also suitable here, for example. If the perforated disc is designed accordingly, it is also possible to carry out mass production by punching. As a result of the simple design, in particular the perforated disk, the tool costs for the production tools can be kept very low.
- the other components of this dispenser in particular the head piece and the container, can also be kept in very simple shapes with few undercuts, which is again the use of very simple manufacturing tools, for example injection molding tools, and thus one enables economical production.
- the interaction of a conical valve seat with an elastic perforated disc as the closing body results in a reliable seal in the closed position.
- the risk of jamming of moving parts is excluded in the embodiment according to the invention. This also ensures reliable function.
- the dispenser according to the invention is advantageously designed such that the closing part of the second check valve is formed in one piece with the perforated disk of the first check valve.
- the dispenser according to the invention is constructed from particularly few parts and, accordingly, particularly economical manufacture and particularly simple assembly.
- a particularly favorable embodiment of the dispenser according to the invention is given in that the closing part of the second check valve is formed as a conically widening flexible annular wall which is arranged concentrically with the perforated disk and is integrally connected to it at its narrower end, and in the closed position with its further one End at the free edge of a section of the pumping chamber wall, ending at a distance from the support base, around the circumference of which lies sealingly from the outside and thereby closes the ring slot forming the connecting path between the pumping chamber and the discharge channel between the free edge of the pipe socket and the perforated disk.
- the pasty mass is first pressed into the pumping chamber from the inside of the container through a ring un the circumference of the conical valve seat by the elastic upward bending of the inner area of the perforated disk which is released under the effect of the negative pressure. If the volume in the pump chamber is then reduced again by external action, the higher pressure thus formed closes the first check valve, in which the inner region of the circular ring is pressed down again to bear against the conical valve seat.
- the conical ring wall of the closing part of the second non-return valve is elastically bent outwards uniformly along its entire circumference, whereby an annular slot is created between the lower edge of the pipe socket and the conical ring wall, through which the mass flows into one with the discharge channel connected space and from there through the dispensing opening to the outside. Because of the relatively large circumferential length of the resulting ring slot, the required bending of the conical ring wall in order to obtain a sufficiently large passage area for the mass to be dispensed is very small. This results in very short distances between the open position and the closed position of the locking parts and, accordingly, little deformation. This has a particularly favorable effect on the service life and the reliability of the dispenser according to the invention.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the dispenser described above is given in that the part of the perforated disk located radially inside the conical ring wall gradually decreases in wall thickness up to the inner edge. This results in a particular flexibility of the inner wall area of the perforated disk and thus a particularly favorable nestling of the inner edge to the conical valve seat in the closed position of the first check valve and a reliable sufficient bulging of the inner area of the perforated disk in the direction of the pump chamber in the open position of the first check valve.
- an alternative advantageous embodiment of the dispenser according to the invention is achieved in that the closing part of the second check valve is formed by an annular surface area which is arranged concentrically to the perforated disk on its surface facing the pumping chamber and is located at approximately the same radial distances from the inner edge and outer edge of the annular disk and which is in the closed position bears sealingly on the lower edge of an annular wall forming a section of the pumping chamber wall and arranged coaxially to the perforated disk and thereby closes the connecting path running around the lower edge of the annular wall from the pumping chamber to the dispensing channel.
- the particularly simple shape of a simple flat perforated disk results in the one-piece closure parts of the first and the second check valve, with the resulting advantages for manufacture and assembly.
- the inner area of the perforated disc bulges when there is a negative pressure in the pump chamber, i.e. when the first check valve is open, upwards and thus releases an annular slot between the inner edge of the perforated disk and the lateral surface of the conical valve seat.
- the inner edge of the perforated disc comes into contact with the outer surface of the conical valve seat.
- the radially central area of the perforated disk is arched downward under a higher pressure, the outer edge of the perforated disk being supported on the support base and the inner edge of the perforated disk on the lateral surface of the conical valve seat.
- the downward curvature of the central region of the perforated disk creates an annular slot between this annular surface region, which acts as a closing part of the second check valve, and the lower edge of the annular wall forming part of the pump chamber wall.
- the dispenser according to the invention can also be designed in such a way that, together with a first check valve designed according to the invention with a conical valve seat and perforated disc, a second check valve arranged on the connecting path between the pump chamber and the discharge channel, which is designed as a separate component, is used.
- the second check valve can have, for example, a closing part which is designed as an insert which can be inserted into the discharge channel and has an elastically articulated closing flap which covers the connecting path in the closed position.
- a particularly simple construction of the dispenser according to the invention is achieved in that the support base is integrally connected to the container, and the outer region of the perforated disc is clamped between the support base and a circumferential projection of the head piece attached to the container.
- the head piece can be connected to the container by means of a snap connection, for example, or it can also be connected to the container by means of a screw connection, for example.
- the support base forms part of the head piece and the perforated disc is held in the head piece.
- the container can, for example, be designed to be completely open at the top.
- Such containers can be produced in a particularly simple manner as interchangeable containers and can also be sold filled without a head piece. After filling, the upper opening of the container can be sealed, for example, by a thin one Foil that is peeled off before connecting the container to the head piece must be completed.
- a particularly simple construction of the dispenser according to the invention is given in that the pump chamber is closed in its upper region by a dome-like, elastically deformable cap.
- a cap can be mass-produced, for example in an injection molding process, from elastomeric material and can be attached to the head piece in a simple manner, for example by means of a snap connection.
- deforming the elastic cap for example by finger pressure from above, large volume changes in the pumping chamber and correspondingly large delivery quantities can be achieved.
- a first embodiment of the dispenser is shown in longitudinal section.
- the head piece 1 of this dispenser consists of a component 2 made of plastic by injection molding, which has an output channel 3 and a cap 4, which consists of resilient plastic and is connected to the component 2 by a snap connection.
- the component 2 is connected at its lower end via a snap connection to the upper end of a container 5.
- the container is also made of plastic by injection molding and has a cylindrical design.
- the lower end of the container 5 is open.
- a piston 6 is inserted into the container, which rests on the inner wall of the container in a sealing manner around the inner circumference with a sliding fit.
- the piston 6 is also injection molded from plastic.
- a pump chamber 7 is delimited to the sides and upwards by walls of the component 2 and by the cap 4.
- a transverse wall is integrally formed, which forms the support base 8.
- Through openings 10 are provided between the support bridges, which connect the interior of the container 5 to the pump chamber 4.
- a perforated disk made of a highly flexible plastic and designed as an annular disk 11 is arranged coaxially with the element 9.
- the circular disc 11 lies on its outer area with its lower surface on the entire circumference on the support base 8.
- a circumferential projection 12 projecting downwards towards the outer region of the annular disk 11 is provided, which after fastening the component 2 to the container 5 is pressed onto the outer region of the annular disk from above and thus in its position clamped.
- the circular disc is drawn in the closed position of the first check valve.
- the inner edge of the circular disc lies sealingly against the conical outer surface of the element 9. In the radially inner area of the circular disc, its wall thickness gradually decreases towards the inner edge.
- annular wall in the form of a downwardly projecting pipe socket 13 is provided in the component 2 of the head piece 1.
- This pipe socket 13 forms a section of the wall of the pump chamber 7.
- the lower edge of the pipe socket 13 ends at a distance above the support base 8.
- a second check valve is provided to close the connection path 14 between the pump chamber 7 and the discharge channel 3.
- the closing part of the second check valve is designed as a conically widening, flexible, elastic ring wall 16, which is arranged concentrically to the annular disk and which is connected in one piece to the annular disk 11 at its lower, narrower end. In the closed position of the second check valve, the inner surface of the annular wall 16 lies on the free edge of the pipe socket 13 in a sealing manner and closes the connecting path 14.
- the mode of operation of the dispenser according to FIG. 1 is described below.
- the closure cap 17 is first pulled off the dispensing mouth of the dispensing channel 3.
- the closing parts of both the first check valve and the second check valve are in the closed position shown in FIG. 1.
- the volume of the. Pump chamber 7 reduced. This creates an overpressure that presses the inner edge of the circular disk 11 sealingly against the conical surface of the element 9.
- the increased internal pressure causes the outside to bulge.
- the negative pressure causes the inner area of the annular disc 11 to bulge upward, so that the inner edge thereof lifts off the conical outer surface of the element 9 and releases an annular slot.
- the piston 6 is pushed upwards.
- pasty material is conveyed through the open ring slot into the pump chamber 7.
- the upwardly curved inner region of the annular disk 11 resiliently goes down again, so that the inner edge of the annular disk comes to rest on the lateral surface of the element 9 and the first check valve closes. The previously described donation process can then begin again.
- Fig. 2 the upper area of a second embodiment of the dispenser is shown in axial section.
- the parts of this second exemplary embodiment correspond to parts of the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, they are identified by the same reference symbols. No further description of these parts is given.
- the lower part of the container, not shown in FIG. 2, can be constructed in the manner shown in FIG. 1.
- a simple circular disk 18 made of highly elastic plastic is provided as the closing part both for the first check valve and for the second check valve, which, in the closed position, rests with its inner edge sealingly against the conical outer surface of the element 9.
- the radially inner area of the circular disk thus forms the closing part of the first check valve.
- an annular surface area 19 lying in the radial direction approximately in the middle between the inner edge of the annular disk 18 and its outer area serves as a closing part for the second check valve.
- annular surface area 19 of the annular disk 18 bears against the lower edge of an annular wall 20 which is arranged coaxially with the annular disk and is integrally formed on the component 2 'of the head piece 1.
- the annular wall 20 forms a section of the wall of the pump chamber 7.
- the volume of the pumping chamber 7 is reduced in the dispenser according to FIG. 2 by pressing the cap 4 downward, the inner edge of the annular disk 18 is pressed against the element 9 in a sealing manner and is supported there.
- the first check valve is now closed.
- the pressure in the pumping chamber causes the annular disk 18 to bulge downward into the area between the inner edge and the outer clamped area of the annular disk.
- the annular surface 19 moves away from the lower edge of the annular wall 20.
- Pasty mass located in the pump chamber can pass through the resulting annular slot into an annular space 21 surrounding the outer wall 20 and from there into the discharge channel 3.
- Fig. 3 the upper area of a third embodiment of the dispenser is shown in axial section.
- the annular disk 18 serves exclusively as a closing part for the first check valve.
- the circumferential projection 12 is formed with walls which limit the pump chamber 7 to the sides.
- An opening 22 in one of these boundary walls represents the connection path between the pump chamber 7 and the delivery channel 3.
- the delivery channel 3 there is an insert 23 made of plastic by injection molding, on which a flap 24 is integrally formed by means of a narrow hinge bridge.
- the invention is not restricted to the exemplary embodiments shown.
- design the connection between the head piece and the container as a detachable connection, for example as a screw connection.
- Such a construction makes it possible to design the container as a disposable container and to dispose of such disposable containers in a detached manner from the head piece.
- the container itself can then be designed in a particularly simple manner and can be produced economically.
- the filled disposable container can be closed at its free upper end with a film which is removed before the container is connected to the head piece.
- valve seat of the first check valve as an element in the form of a rotationally symmetrical truncated cone with a straight generator is very advantageous, but deviating configurations are also possible within the scope of the invention.
- the valve seat can be designed as a rotating body tapering upwards with a curve as the generator.
- valve seats which taper upwards and which are not rotationally symmetrical.
- a disc is to be used as the closing part instead of an annular disc, the opening of which is adapted to the circumferential shape of the valve seat.
- a shape can be appropriate, for example, if the outer shape of the dispenser is to have a shape deviating from the rotational symmetry, for example the shape of a square.
