Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a radial fan according to the preamble of
In many applications, centrifugal fans are subject to strongly changing operating conditions, e.g. in air conditioning and ventilation technology, in use. Flawless operation must be guaranteed at every operating point; for this it is necessary that a pressure increase Δp can be clearly assigned to the volume flow V at each operating point of the fan, i.e. the fan must be able to work according to a constant characteristic curve Δ p = f (V). It has been shown in detail that centrifugal fans with high utilization of the construction volume, i.e. high power density have instability points in the characteristic curves Δ p = f (V), P = f (V), η = f (V) such that with decreasing throttling the variables characterizing the fan, e.g. Volume flow, pressure and efficiency suddenly jump to higher values and only follow the throttling change with a clear hysteresis effect when throttling increases again.
The above-described hysteresis behavior is all the more uner - wünschter when it takes place near the disengagement of the centrifugal fan. The control options of the "fan system" system are thereby highly limited. Operation at the lower level of the characteristic curve is also associated with specifically strong noise development; in addition, the efficiency decreases sharply with the sudden drop in pressure, which also makes operation on the lower characteristic branch of the hysteresis uneconomical.
In the known case, a reduction in the number of blades and thus a special design of the impeller is now recommended as the most effective means of eliminating discontinuity in the characteristic curve of radial fans (p. 3 of the final report mentioned); the discontinuity of the characteristic curve, which in the known case is due to the occurrence of the transient detachment: "Rotating Stall", cannot be prevented according to the final report mentioned (page 62 below) by measures on the housing contour.
The object of the present invention is to provide radial fans with high utilization of the construction volume, i.e. high power density, with simpler constructional measures to achieve a continuity of the characteristic curve in such a way that, even with different throttle values, the radial fan works at the higher level specified by the known hysteresis characteristic curve, regardless of the respective working range. In the aforementioned sense, power density is understood to mean the product of the dimensionless volume flow figure and the dimensionless pressure figure, as it e.g. through the publication: "Recent developments in the field of radial fans of high power density" in the magazine HLH 30, 1979, No. 11, pages 443 to 447.
Based on the knowledge that the instability of the characteristics due to a multi-circulating flow of the medium in the volute casing due to pressure differences and especially the drag effect of the rotating . The impeller are caused, as a solution to this problem, a measure according to the characterizing part of
It has been shown that the desired high power density can be ensured by the simple measure of the barrier walls which can also be retrofitted without further design changes to the radial fan, with different throttling. The barrier wall parts are expediently designed to protrude into the interior of the spiral housing with a barrier surface curved in accordance with the flow pattern. A-still further improvement in a low noise emission and higher efficiency can regard to - be .dadurch achieved in that the free leading edges of the barrier wall are provided with bead-like roundings which are either integrally formed on the leading edges of the barrier walls or subsequently as separate components to the leading edges of the barrier walls be plugged on and held on this.
The solution according to the invention is preferably used for impellers with backward curved blades, but also shows the desired improvement in impellers with forward or radially ending blades.

The greatest effect with regard to avoiding hysteresis is achieved with a very extensive shut-off; in contrast, a lower partial shut-off represents an optimal compromise between a small amount of rotary sound in the noise spectrum and a largely avoidance of the undesirable characteristic hysteresis.

Fig.7 und Fi.8 zeigen derartige Abrundungen 321,331 bzw. Fig.10 zeigt unter Bezugnahme auf die Sperrwandausführung gemäß Fig.5 und Fig.6 jeweils Wulstartige Abrundungen 322 bzw.332 in Form von getrennten, auf die Anströmkanten der Sperrwand jeweils aufgesetzten und an diesen gehalterten Bauteilen.7 to 10 show, with reference to the sectional profiles CC in FIGS. 3 to 6 and if the

Fig. 15 shows the characteristic curves for the total pressure figure Ψ t , the dynamic pressure figure Ψ d , the total efficiency at the impeller inlet η tL and the power density (α, Ψ t ) depending on the volumetric flow figure f in dashed curve form for a conventional, not Radial fan designed according to the invention and in the extended characteristic curve for the same conventional radial fan, but with an additional easy-to-install barrier wall, on the basis of the drawn throttle parabola DP and corresponding throttling changes in the direction of lower throttling (-) or stronger throttling (+). In the characteristics of the total pressure figure Ψ t , the dynamic pressure figure Ψ d , the efficiency η tL and the power density (α, Ψ t ) As a function of the volume flow rate f (ϕ), the hysteresis characteristic curves are shown, which result in a conventional radial fan with a certain throttle reduction and subsequent throttle increase. In contrast, the radial fan designed according to the invention advantageously ensures that, with a consistently high power density, there are no instability points with a hysteresis characteristic curve, but rather the radial fan always works at the higher, more favorable level specified by the hysteresis, with different throttling.
